Rocking Chair Nights
Rocking chair so comfortable, steady and slow,
Back and forth in a twilight glow.
Porch boards creak with a whispering charm,
As crickets sing and the night feels warm.
Fireflies flicker like lanterns in flight,
Dancing beneath the blanket of night.
Stars above shimmer bold and bright,
A quiet reminder of heaven’s light.
Glass of iced tea sweating in hand,
Sweet as the breeze across the land.
No rush, no noise, just peace in the air—
Rocking back and forth in my favorite chair.
