Learning is something which starts in the cradle and ends at death.
I think the process of learning does not end at death. Instead I believe the true learning will begin after death.
If the learning ends at death, then when shall we know what Allah has created above the skies, under the oceans, upon the earth?
How shall we know what does كهيعص mean?
What are the secrets hidden in يٰس ?
How would we learn the true meaning of Laylatul Qadr?
Who will tell us that upon whom the angels descend in the night of Qadr.?
How shall we know about the "بقيت اللّہ" Remains of Allah (11:86 Quran)
When the world will recognize "اولیِ الامر" Those who are in authority (4:59 Quran)
Apart from all this, where would we learn what does the justice mean? How is the true justice done? The divine justice? Adl-e-ilaahi. Bcoz we never saw justice in this world...
There's a very famous saying of Rasool Allah (peace be upon him and his progeny) "Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave." In this saying "to the grave" means that a person can learn even at the time when he enters in his grave, that is why we recite Talqeen while burying deceased ones into the graves. Further we believe that the life of this world is merely transient and temporary, while it is the life of the next world that is permanent and eternal, then how is it possible that we shall enter a new life, into a new world but we wouldn't learn any thing new!
"People are asleep. They wake up when they die"- Imam Ali Ibne Abi Talib (a.s)
And yeah, as Abdul Hameed Adam said:
Mehshar ka khair jo bhi nateeja ho ayy Adam,
Kuch guftugù to khul Ke karenge Khuda ke saath
