Project based on a rebrand for a certain company, I got a bike repair shop. The idea was “life cycle” which means a reproduction of something getting better and better, also the cycle links which a bicycle. I created a lino print of the LC created into tire tracks, and by using an ink roller I was able to repeat the pattern like an ongoing cycle // first year // Uclan // Branding
every object if you look hard enough makes a face, are you happy, confused or sad? // first year // Uclan // 1 week project photography
Another DG selection
Creating a whole new aspect of DG magazines, I decided to go with social media as the things we discuss and see are all online, or have been through social media, basically taking over this generation and generations to come. I wanted to show social media in a negative light and inspire make people think and see thing not just as a magazine cover, but as a message.
This project is based on self identity and where I’d like to be in 10 years time. I used collage as the main technique, influenced by Derek Gores who uses magazine, labels, data and graphic materials. In addition to his fine art, the series showcases Gores’ contrasting interests in the living beauty of the figure, abstract design aesthetics of fashion, and a mighty sense of play. I used just magazine strips by choosing similar colours to my face and hair. I used watercolour to paint my eyes and lips, and made my eyebrows darker. I also used illustrator to enlarge the collage for the background and duplicate the newspaper city to make it stand out more as it had bold colours already around it.
Information Graphics is a leading form of communication, learning from visuals helps the brain understand more than when reading a piece of information. For this project we were asked to create any step by step icons in which we enjoy to do, such as my eye make up tutorial. I took photographs while putting on my make up, to help put together a simple guide using nothing but Illustrator
Having a product design YCN brief I was able to try new outcomes using Illustrator. The project set was to redesign and establish the ion brand, sold in the salon services stores and Sally website. They felt their brands design was “outdated” and needed a ‘fresh new look” without losing original customers. I wanted to interpret photography as many hair products all have a similar trait using the likes of silhouettes, swirls, and does not have much of a theme. I wanted something simple that meets requirements and shows beautiful hair with a model and a colourful shadow depending on what colours I had chosen.
Bonfire night last year! it’s nearly here again, can not wait for more photography, how beautiful though!

I was chosen from the design course to create a leaflet for the Credit Union, to promote their company at the college. I wanted to keep the same colours as the logo, and show how the message can be communicated towards a younger audience using symbols and icons. As many would prefer to see visuals than read lots of information. So using a honey cone layout I have used space to separate areas so that the students would understand and take the time to look rather than having to read too much writing. I was rewarded for my time and also towards helping the college find more members for the Credit Union, which I am proud to say I was apart of.
negatives
For the start of year 2 we were picked a brief to create a series of products of our choice to sell at the Blackberry fair based in Whitchurch. This project had full independence, we had to plan, produce, promote and sell our designs to the public. It was a very exciting time as we could keep any profit we make on that day. I wanted to be different in a sense of challenging myself to create something worth buying and also suits the target audience.
I had everything handcrafted from cards in which I set the theme of “travel” using a hot air balloon, boat and caravan, I chose three which fits with the older generation. I made the designs in illustrator where I had them printed onto card to be cut out. I also made candles from paraffin wax and a hint of scent to get the candle smelling beautiful, while linking with the three illustrations created.
This day was very successful even though all my products did not sell, I had the opportunity to sell them to family in my own time.
