Dess tried to get out of bounds, just like Kris and Noelle, scape her life, go away... she didn't make it. She drowned. But now thanks to the Player actions (kill Berdly, snowgrave, etc) us showed Noelle that she can be free, "tell me to grow wings, and I'll fly away" she says.

This is fucking terrifying, now we have to wait till ch7 to know what happened. I think we're meeting Gaster

DELTARUNE CH 5 THEORY

Dess drowned in the lake. The waves take her away and drowned her, while Kris was the only one looking. Asgore couldn' find her because SHE' AT THE BOTTON OF THE LAKE. The constant sounds of waves, at start of chapter 1, the profecy background being lakes, the lake being so apart of hometown. And the last clue, Toby Fox arg revealed that the place where Noelle last smiled was The Lake, maybe because Dess, Kris and her where at the lake, she just get lost in the forest (maybe some Roots connection) and when she came back, Dess was already dead. OMFG, this makes a lot of sense doesn't it? Please tell me I ain't insane. Also, this could have happened in decemeber, while the lake was frozen
