idk if it's just me but (DELTARUNE SPOILERS)
I might be a pedant or annoying for ripping on a joke but like
That image of Ralsei crying at Flowery's body and forcing his magic to miss
Its funny but I'm js gonna take it seriously because I kinda wanna yap about my personal interpretation as well as a small theory
Personally, I think that Ralsei was genuinely trying, you can see it when he says 'but I have to try' after Flowery tells him to stop. Why does he tell him to stop? Because it's not his darkner form that is damaged, it's his Light World flower. Now this is obvious by the fact his stem is severed when we (Kris and Susie) go back to the Light World, but why?
Heres the concerning part. We see Blue heal both Kris and Flowery at the end of the fight with Flowery, so it should not be an issue for Ralsei to heal him. But those wounds were only superficial, sustained by his darkner form, not the flower itself. At the beginning of the chapter, if you speak to King, he says that his scar is a result of Light World damage (his playing card being ripped during play), and his conversations always seem to have strange relevance to the plot, ie. Flowery's injury at the end of the chapter. But that was at the hands of the Knight, in the Dark World.
Thus, the Knight has the ability to attack through the darkness and into the Light World. We saw it with Tenna, as the Dreemurr TV is broken at the end of chapter 3 and Susie patches him up (side note she seems to have a strange obsession w tape for that) and it was likely why Ralsei did not try and use his magic on Tenna after the attack, as he knew it would not work.
But he uses it on Flowery. He tries to defy fate, defy reality, because the person who told him to try defying fate was succumbing to fate. The Prince, bound by his fate, actively tries to defy it, even when told he can't. That is serious growth for Ralsei, and I haven't seen many people talk about that. (Possible yap at a later date)
Back to the Knight, though. The fact they can attack the Light World from the Dark is incredibly dangerous, for all of the Fun Gang. It seems all the injuries sustained (apart from mental ones) are limited solely to the Dark World, not the Light, and Ralsei is able to heal those with relative ease. However, he is confirmed to be unable to fix Light World wounds, so the Knight would (or could) be easily able to attack all of them in the Light World domain, even from the Dark World, and it would be impossible to come back from it in the Dark World (yes let's feed into Kris lost hand theory ig?) This is even more dangerous for Ralsei, as whatever injuries he would sustain would be permanent due to him being a Darkner, as the object would be permanently damaged (or whatever he is but let's not get into that rn)
Now, this isn't a Noelle Knight Theory (or one on who the knight is at all), but it has parallels to the Weird Route we can't ignore. Berdly is fatally injured in the Dark World in the Weird Route, which should (by the rules of the rest of the Dark World) be reversible with healing magic. But it isn't. He ends up in hospital in a coma, which links to how Flowery is not explicitly dead by the end of the chapter, but is injured to a point of near fatality from a Light World injury sustained in the Dark World. Thus, only Noelle and the Knight have been able to cross the barrier between worlds, and both routes have been affected by this in one way or another.
In summary, the fact the Knight and Noelle can attack across both worlds is concerning (and dangerously relevant) and Ralsei did not miss on purpose (I have opinions on their relationship i might divulge at a later date).
Thank you for listening to my yap ig
