Your young Gortash design gives me life and I sometimes find myself making little fanfictions in my head of your characters lol. I still die every time I think about how you made Bane look like Durge and Bhaal look like Gortash.
I got really into the lore of the gods when making my prequel fanfiction for BG3 and I always loved how Bane would always see Bhaal as useful to keep on a leash for his own gain. The dead three all competing for a sense of ultimate control in various ways. Bane through Tyranny, Myrkul through inevitability, and then there is Bhaal.
Most people kinda just Murder Hobo Bhaal when his pre-Time of Troubles (1358 DR) worship was very different from the game's version. There was an aspect to his cult that got lost when he was resurrected into a Quasi-deity for E5 that no one really talks about: Passion. Murder as intimacy and emotional ecstasy.
Murder as art was something more accepted before the Age of Avatars, and sex was interwoven in the worship. Hence why you get these almost erotic images of gore and necrophilia is mentioned as something Durge once partook in.
Anyway, I feel like that lines up with Bhaal and Bane being toxic and obsessed exes.

honestly, that's exactly why i usually imagine myrkul as being the closest in character to jergal, while bane and bhaal are more like two feral ambitious dogs
bhaal's position when he gets into the "divine rights" mindset and sounds like "i will be in control =/"
"i choose death, and it is by my hand that all that you rule lord bane will eventually pass to lord myrkul. <...> since i can destroy your kingdom, bane, by murdering your subjects, and i can starve your kingdom, myrkul, by staying my hand."
(that part makes me feel really good too)

i always keep the meme about the parallels between bane/bhaal and durge/gortash in my head bcse they literally just flipped it around
(+ my durge ends up refusing bhaal, but not the plans, which is even funnier to me)
while the divorced ones bane/bhaal are basically:
"by the way, i'll be killing to CONTROL UR TYRANNY"
durge/gortash do:
"i'll be killing people FOR UR TYRANNY"

about passion - that too! i think they tried to touch on this in the game with "the ecstasy of murder"? + it works really well with the theme of bhaalspawn in general
