RKPIPER&VARIETY: our characters show off their talents

The host was relaxing and not at all intimidating, like Narae thought he was going to be. He was making jokes when acceptable, and Narae was reacting, or maybe overreacting; she was a little desperate for screen time, when he made a joke or did a silly gag. Narae was still fairly new on the scene, so a lot of questions and comments weren’t really directed at her, so when she heard her name she jumped a little.

"Rookies are always so nervous! I’m not scary, look~" he responded, aegyo followed quickly after.

Narae wasn’t sure what to do so went with her first thought, “Disgusting!”, she exclaimed and looked in the opposite direction of the camera. The over exaggerated laughter was followed soon after.

Narae quickly greeted the other girl, Piper, on stage with a quick bow and  an excited hello. 

The host went on to explain Piper’s love for ballet, and how a dancer should know many different styles of dance to considered skilled. The two girls listened, agreeing when needed. 

"Crayon pop can successfully master pop and trot, and that is what makes them talented. If the two of you today, can successfully preform their newest song…You two will be claimed as the most talented idols in South Korea. Are you ready?!"  The task was explained and they couldn’t help but to burst out into laughter. Narae looked over to Piper, giving a small ‘fighting!’ before the pair quickly got into place, and started to preform.

The performance didn’t last long before Narae messed up, and hid her face in her hands, laughing from embarrassment. 

Piper stopped dancing quickly after, patting Narae on the shoulder, covering her mouth while laughing. “So are we talented?” She asked the host who responded with an unenthusiastic “no”, which resulted in more laughter from the audience and guests. 

"Invite us back next week, so we can prove our talent~" Narae said cutely, giving a wink to the camera. Piper joined quickly after giving the camera a pretty look, blinking exaggerated, before saying "See you next week!" 

Commercials quickly entered the screen, signaling the end of the show.

RKBAMBAM&INKIGAYO: our characters' groups are up against each our and your group wins against mine

Narae was nervous. The scores we're being tallied and somehow her group made it into the top 2.  The results were on the screen and the MC's were reading out the scores. They were mostly even except this one group, she believed was called GOT7, had a perfect SNS score.  Narae accepted defeat right then and there. She began to clap, a smile on her face, as she cheered for the winner.

What she did not expect was for the one of the hosts to hand her a trophy and ask for a congratulatory speech. Narae quickly showed of the trophy to the camera, and gave the standards of the speech. She thanked the manager and the company, as well as the fans. Their song started to play as the other artists began to walk off stage.

She noticed the group they went up against was looking slightly disappointed, so she ran up to them. She gave them 90 degree bow, and smiled at them brightly.

She wasn't 100 percent sure what was going on, the shock of winning still processing through her brain, but she still  handed a member, she believed his stage name was called BamBam, a mic and pestered him to sing with her group. The background music was already playing and most of her members were rightly singing their part,  but she wanted to cheer up the other group a little, by giving them a little more screen time. Off mic, Narae looked over to BamBam, and smiled, "Perfect SNS score is really cool! Lots of dedicated fans worked hard for that. I bet they're all celebrating the little victory." she said trying to cheer him up a little bit.

"I'm not rubbing this in by the way, I think it would be fun to have a special guest preform with us! You can sound as off key as you like. I'll sing horrible now, watch."  Her part of the song began to play and Narae sang jokingly into the mic, which caused a laugh from both groups and the audience. The stage was a mesh of both groups dancing and singing, and overall having a seemingly good time.

Yubin was about to open the store. She had amazingly feel asleep the night before and looked a mess. She was thankful from the small room in the back so she could get herself together, and she was happy, she was able to be up so early. Quickly she threw her hair up into a bun as she walked out the store, spotting her first new hire.

"Hello!" There was a bright smile on her face. "You might be Narae right? Come in." She took the girls arms and pushed past a few people, letting out a huge breath once they were inside. "Welcome to your first day."

"Thank you so much!" Narae replied kindly, looking around the cafe and taking everything in. The cafe looked quite big, and Narae wondered what exactly she had to do in her new line of work.  She wasn't exactly sure where to stand, but she moved away from the entrance and looked at Yubin. "Do I need to wear like a uniform or something? I'm sorry that was a really sudden question." she laughed, a little embarrassed, but the question was something that she was wondering about for a while. Narae looked at Yubin not really expecting a reply, but waiting for instructions of what she should do.

Maybe it was the sugar that made his day almost immediately brighter when he took his first few spoon of the ice cream, maybe it just was the ice freezing his brain cells, but it definitely had a soothing feeling to Jaejoong and that was what counted, right?

He had to concentrate not to shudder as he bit into a frozen pineapple and only when the sourness fade away slowly, he did unlock his phone display again to read the incoming messages. He lingered a moment over them, playing with the thought of telling her that he couldn’t come today, but then again he was already in Seoul, so why making things complicated when they could be easy? He took another spoonful of his ice, while quick fingers tipped a reply back to her.

[new message: apartment girl] Today’s fine. Tell me about what time I should be coming. And directions would be cool, yes! :)

Hopefully it wasn’t going to be another flop again, and hopefully they would get along well.

Narae threw her phone on the kitchen counter, grabbed a broom and began to sweep. The house wasn't in bad conditions at all, but Narae wasn't exactly the best at cleaning everyday. She remembered the days, back when she still lived at home, when her mother would scold her for not tidying her room everyday. Her mother's logic was always, "You never know when a guest is coming!" It took a few years, but she finally understood why cleaning everyday was important. The little memory brought a small smile to Narae's face. She wasn't one to focus so much on the past, but when she did it was always happy memories.

She was throwing the remains of her sweeping away when she heard her phone vibrate. She quickly finished her task, and ran to her phone to read the message. Narae scrunched her eyebrows trying to think of simple directions to give the man. She then realized a name was probably an important fact to know about a person. She sighed as she unlocked her phone, and typed a response.

[Mssg Sent!] Would you be okay with coming over now? I know it's short notice, so if you're busy I understand. TT__TT

[Mssg Sent!] Okay, Get off at Hongdae station line 2 exit 8 then walk straight until you reach this circle plant thing. You want to take the first right and then walk straight. After a while you should see this little empty shop. I live right above that. ^^ The shop is empty, but it's safe don't worry.

[Mssg Sent!] My name is Narae by the way~ I look forward to meeting with you! (｡´∀｀)ﾉ

She placed her phone in her back pocket, and inspected her kitchen. She decided not to bother with cleaning that room anymore and made her way to the second bedroom, broom in hand.

(’ —when narae and joonyoung had started talking over the internet, joonyoung had thought nothing of it. he often enjoyed conversing with those who found his blog and his music. when it came to his small fan base, he treated them like they were his sister-in-law (very very well). they were important to him. but he rarely met anyone he’d had contact with via the web, but he had grown so close to narae over their time chatting.) — (’ —when his phone vibrated, joonyoung grazed over the messages and laughed.)

[sms→narae] it was an accident. i hate being early. -__-; it ruins my rockstar reputation. [sms→narae] aye~ its fine~ i don’t even mind. c;

(’ —the first message was joonyoung being playful, while the second was honest; he didn’t mind. it’s not like he had anywhere else to be. he’d clear his day to see narae.) — (’ —his attention was completely focused on the small rock and the words he was scratching into the pavement; enough that when he heard his username called out, he was shocked and lost. head whipped around until he saw the waving arm and laughed in embarrassment. he nodded his head in a casual act of greeting.) “i didn’t realize you were a crazy person, narae.” (’ —he teased her as he went back to scratching with the rock and tilted his head; first was some lyrics, the second was a cartoonish octopus that he drew and finally their names and the date.) “being bored, waiting.” (’ —he answered as he finished off scratching naraes’ username next to his.) “i’m marking it, so when i become famous, you have proof that you knew me.” (’ —the information came as he dusted his hands and looked up at her with boyish grin.)

{` she playfully slapped him on the shoulder, hitting a little harder than she should. A fake look of hurt of on her face. } Who would of thought you would be so rude. I sense a future scandal. Who should I tell? Dispatch seems like a good choice. Hmm... {` she looked deep in thought, before she started to laugh; she was starting to get a little nervous after seeing Joonyoung in person. He didn't look intimidating at all, but personalities can get wrapped over the internet. She wasn't sure how different the both of them were going to act in person. } I'm kidding, I'm kidding. I have to make sure my image is good and untainted. I don't want a tattletale scandal following me around! {` she looked at the drawings and took out her phone, opening the camera. } Let's take a selca, so you have proof you knew me before I became a global star. {` she mocked his voice in the last statement, jokingly rephrasing his words to suit her better. }

A free room to share - Narae & Jaejoong

He was glad that it was summer. It meant that he could hide his frustration and disappointment underneath a pair of shades without people getting suspicious. The last week he had been on apartment viewings non-stop last week which all seemed to him like a waste of time since they didn’t work out for him. Either it was that the price was too high, the rooms too small or the people he would have shared it with too strange.

So this Monday he hoped that finally he was lucky to find the right place to stay for him, but again it ended up in failure. The adverstisment had been promising, and the apartment looked just like in the pictures he had seen online, but it turned out that the rooms were infested with mildew. With a grumpy face, he strolled through the streets of Mapo-gu now, on his way to his hometown where he stayed at the moment.

His eyes got caught on a new opened café though, that seemed to not only sell sweets like cake and cookies but ice cream too. Without another thought, Jaejoong gave in to his desires and entered the small cozy room. Ice cream was what he wanted right now; he loved ice cream, it eased his soul.

He went up to the counter, ordering a big fruit bowl and sat down on a free table where some newspapers got spread out to read. Taking off his sunglasses, Jaejoong’s eyes scanned the page that laid openly on the table and stopped when he came along on an apartment advertisment. “A young woman’s searching for a roommate, huh?” He mumbled, pondering whether he should contact her through the listed number or not. He knew he needed somewhere to stay, so with a sigh, he pulled out his phone off his pocket and started to type in a message. He wasn’t in the mood for a phone conversation.

[new message: apartment girl] This comes rather sudden I guess, but I just read your adverstisment and would like to view the apartment? Are you still up for that?

Jaejoong was about to put his phone aside again, as another thought got to him and he opened a new message again.

[new message: apartment girl] I’m a boy, 23 years old. :) 

The waiter interrupted him by bringing his bowl of ice and the black haired male grinned at the side of it, his phone set on the table carelessly before he began to dig in happily.

It was hot, and Narae had the air condition on it's highest setting, but that didn't stop the little beads of sweat from dripping down her forehead. She was laying haphazardly on her bed, playing some frustrating game on her phone. William, her pet, was laying calmly on her shoulder, only moving when Narae would change her position slightly in bed. 

She was procrastinating, needing to fulfill some household chores and prepare some dinner for the night ahead of her. 

A notification, from an unknown number, popped up on the top of her screen. She sighed, as she clicked out of the game and opened her messages. She read the first message, and started typing a reply, but a second one was followed shortly after. She deleted her first message and responded,

[Mssg Sent!] Hello! The room is still available. ^-^ Would you be interested in viewing today?

[Mssg Sent!] Do you need directions to get here?

Narae locked her phone, quickly putting William away in his cage and giving him a small treat, before she ran out of her room to do any last minute cleaning. She was curious to see who the mysterious man that contacted her was.

{`handing out flyers would be a pain enough on its own but this was just making it even worse. it was warm outside but that did no good as the weather was nothing but awful, threatening to drown him just about any time. he sighed, figuring that it’s best to try and hurry up a little, and took a glance around. this one’s familiar, he thought for himself, and rushed over to the female.} Hey! Narae! {`he reached out with a flyer in his hand, a cheeky grin on his lips, and offered it with a hope that it’d be taken.} I don’t know if you’re aiming for this but would ya’ want one?

{` she hears her name from a short distance away, stopping in her tracks she looks around for the owner of the voice. A familiar figure is running towards her which results in a smile and a wave to the boy. } Hey! It’s been awhile! I hope everything is going well! {` she says quickly taking the flyer from him. She folds it up, without even sparing it a glance, and throws it in her purse. } I’ll look at it later in the comfort of my aircon, but uh, is this your new line of work? {` she laughs, fanning him with her hands; an attempt to cool him off. } It’s hot outside, so be careful not to catch heatstroke!

( `/ walks out of the restaurant he's in, his eyes on his phone and his other hand holding the bag of takeout that he really shouldn't be eating but he doesn't care that much, not paying attention and slamming straight into the girl that's walking in and he almost drops his phone, fumbling and catching it last minute ) oh man, i am so sorry.

{` her reaction to everything comes quite late. She's was far too busy contemplating on what she should order, before she collides with a boy, whose voice brings back to reality. } Oh uh, I'm fine. You don't need to apologize, I should of payed more attention. { She inspects the boy for damage before she notices a liquid starting to pool inside of his bag; the sign of a spill. } Did I ruin your food? I'll be willing to pay for it, if it's completely inedible!

         {‘She’s not sure how to respond to the widening of Narae’s eyes, in fact, a cloud of worry looms over ahead, though it disappears just as fast as it had appeared when Narae allows a mischievous smile to spread across the fissure of her lips. }  but but but— {‘Hana begins a childish protest, stomping one foot against the floor, both hands balled into fists by her side, though, she comes to an abrupt halt when the other begins to talk a little more.} you’re… a genius— {‘Hana’s not quite sure if she’s chosen the right word for the job but she doesn’t have time to sit around and sift through adjectives.}  Here, take some pictures in succession {‘Hana instructs, nodding a few times before taking a few steps back so that it’d be easy to get her inside the frame.} do me, then I’ll do you yeah?

Now pose. {` Narae snaps a few pictures, her main focus is the elder behind the other girl, so the pictures mostly come out blurry, with the man in focus. } These pictures...Let's just say I'm not a photographer. They're not bad, I mean you're not in them, but {` she laughs again giving the girl her phone. } Not bad, right? { She looks at the man, quickly making eye contact with him before she looks away cheeks red; she tries to deepen her accent, but a nervous laugh is all that comes out. } We should leave? it's not a question, lets go. {` she tires to make a quick signal to the older man, whose attention was now on the two girls, before she grabbed her wrist and hurried away. }

{` She was excited and a little relieved, that Joonyoung actually wanted to meet up with her. Her mind was filled with many things, but a negative emotion wasn't in site; She was pulled out of her thoughts when she felt her phone vibrate in her pocket. She pulled the phone out, unlocked it and read over the messages the boy had sent. She read the message and rolled her eyes. She couldn't believe she was running late. She typed out a quick reply }

{` she hurried her pace, making her stroll more of a jog. She felt a little bad that she was late, but she didn't feel that horrible. A few minutes later she finally arrived at the meeting site. She saw a boy from the corner of her eye. He was focused on drawing something into the pavement. He was thinner than Narae thought he would be, but it was nothing to worry about right? She wanted to run up and scare him, but she decided against it. She opted instead  to raise her voice to get his attention. } Yah, Rocker boy blue! {` she waved her arm enthusiastically, laughing } What are you doing? {` she asked when she was finally in ear distance from him, a huge and bright smile on her face }

Taking the newly bought journal out of the plastic packaging, Narae sighed in content, a grin on her face. It's been awhile since she wrote in her beloved notebook, and the feeling was sort of nostalgic. It was comforting knowing that her busy life in Seoul, would end the same it had for the past few years.

The journal was plain black, with no outer decoration. It wouldn't last like this for long though, in a few days time, it would be covered in stickers and doodles and other various things that Narae thought would suit the journal. For now though, it was to stay plain.

She picked up a pen, the ink color was almost a neon green, and she began to write,

I forgot how to write in this. I feel like i'm not making sense. No one is gonna read this, but when i'm old and dying, and i reread the words of my "youth" I want to understand. Future me, am i making sense? are you reading this or have you lost your eyesight? A loving child of mine is reading this to you right? You're both shaking your head at how foolish i am, aren't you? ㅋㅋㅋ

Honestly nothing has changed. It's the same as daegu, i just don't have mom or dad with me anymore. TT__TT

I forgot to mention camp! Royal was holding a training camp, it passed by quickly, but it was an enjoyable time.  Everyone was so talented, even the kids! When i was young I was skipping school and moping about life. What a waste honestly. 

I'm worried. I feel like moving here was a mistake? Seoul is so big and full of life, I know Daegu is a big city too, but it's nothing compared to Seoul. So many talented people here, i seem like a amateur next to everybody. Auditions for something are being held. I want to participate, but i have no special skills.  I might do them anyway, so i have something to tell dad, so he doesn't worry. 

I need to work harder! fighting!
