went through my comics to pull some info on iara again since it's been a while and she's in a new series so here's some canon shit about Iara:

She has a deep-seated fear of abandonment

She's been a loner basically her whole life

She has no family to speak of

While she's aggressive and violent, she doesn't like the idea of losing control of her shark nature. After going berserk when she fought mystique she told Angel "I would've killed that woman, I would've torn her in half or died trying, if you hadn't stopped me. Even though something tells me that wouldn't have been any big loss, that's still not me."

She's started spending more time a shark then as a human. The shitty spy girl said "pretty soon, she'll be all shark and no girl. I f she isn't already" on the matter.

Ever since she sharked out she's struggled even more with feelings of abandonment and rejection. She's found that people don't really want to even be teammates with her.
