ILLMATRIX is a glitchy detour from Rainbow Island’s colourful sonic chromatisms toward a win95.exe non-figurative and unorthodox cartography of exotic, alien undiscovered languages and dimensions of sound, which boundaries developing the project’s saga are constantly and obsessively redrawn by Rainbow Island themselves by means of grimey sewer-like grooves and staggering concrete, urban sound design.

Rainbow Island are lost. The gombo riddim quartet has been missing and unreachable ever since their last show in Rome, August 2018. After reportedly boarding a pirate plane towards the Pichavaram mangroves in search of legendary cryptids, the only communication received from the band has been a hourlong mix filled with cryptic frequencies and undecipherable rhythms.
