All of Cater’s clones when he uses Split Card are sentient beings. Just straight up copies of him. And while they could have the thought to turn on the main Cater, the only reason they don’t is because they enjoy dying. Main Cater likes seeing himself die. Sometimes when he’s mad at himself he vents it out through one of his clones. So his actual body isn’t actually hurt but he feels punished.
