Hello, I'm Rose! I'm an artist and writer that likes BL, GL, and HL. I love Kaitou Joker and my main favorite ships are Phoenix/Joker, Joker/Shadow, and Rose/Shadow. I'm a multishipper and there's not much I won't at least explore or consider, and I love to talk about all sorts of pairing dynamics and character studies. I don't have any notable NOTPs.

Rose-musing is a general personal tag for all written thoughts, usually related to character exploration in some way.

Rose-answers is for answers to asks.

Before looking at the rest of my blog, it is important for you to know that my blog may deal with sensitive and offputting fictional subjects. Posts deemed potentially upsetting have brief warnings followed by a read more. (If you need something warned for, I encourage polite requests via DM or ask! I will do my best to make my blog accessible to you.)

Mute specific ship tags in 'character x character' tag format, such as 'shadow x rose' and 'rose x shadow'. If you don't want to see anything of the pairing, mute both variations. First character name before the 'x' defines which character is 'dominant' in the scenario context (This refers to tone and doesn't exclusively reference sexual dynamics). I don't place a lot of importance on order but I tag order as a courtesy, since this is common in eastern fandom especially. If there's another name for the pairing, I usually also include that, such as 'johachi' and 'cyanrose'.

CyanRose (Suggestive)

I had an intense dream out of nowhere about Shadow and Rose... It was nonsensical as dreams often are. Both were so incredibly desperate to pet and kiss each other, but couldn't physically go for it... Shadow was a lot more bold than I'd consciously depict him, but it really made me think about all of the stories (both romantic and platonic) that I have, focusing around the two. I never really did write the stories I wanted to write about them. They are both codependent, but Shadow is really the one that is viciously dependent on Rose and her wellbeing. It takes so much growth to get him to a point where he can healthily separate from Rose to live a 'normal' life... ...Or not. It is also fun to explore him simply never getting to that point, and sinking into a codependency with Rose that ends with an eternal promise of sin.

Joker/Shadow

(Current context: It's a situation where Joker and Shadow have kissed before, but aren't in any kind of relationship.)

Shadow is too nervous and embarrassed to consider initiating, but Joker's incessant teasing and bullying fills Shadow's head with just enough steam to push out the embarrassment long enough to lead to all sorts of chaotic situations where Shadow just goes for it...

They're alone together and Shadow is everything but covert with his thoughts and emotions. The way Shadow looks at his lips is too obvious. It flusters Joker, and Joker naturally covers this up with teasing. He also hates the awkwardness, and jumps to what he knows best to cover up the building tension--he smiles slyly at him and calls him a complete weirdo.

What, does he wanna kiss him? That's weird. Oh, but that wouldn't happen anyways, because Shadow isn't the kind of guy that has the nerve, right? This supposed 'being that lives in the darkness' gets weak in the knees from a little kiss... Shadow's kind of... A pansy!

And Shadow goes so red-faced and gets so angry at some point that he grabs Joker's jaw and slams his lips against Joker's SIMPLY to prove him wrong--and slams their noses together as well in the process.

Yelps of pain and a gigantic fight ensue.

The kiss is forgotten.

Kaitou Joker Encore chapter 2

This chapter was really exciting, wow... Phoenix managing to break through his body being controlled to yell for Joker to run, and then also pleading Hachi to stop what his body is being forced to do... Phoenix being possessed by some kind of evil alien being is REALLY fun. And then also there's Hachi who feels absolutely horrible that, despite vowing to become a phantom thief himself instead of just an apprentice, he couldn't protect Joker from being horribly hurt. I really want to see what happens in a situation where Hachi's gone off by himself to try to help Phoenix without Joker. It's super rare to see Hachi by himself during dangerous situations, and this will truly be Hachi's biggest (and most high stakes) test to see if he's anywhere near close enough to graduating. You can do it, Hachi!!

I like to imagine a situation where Merry haunts the Sky Joker after meeting 'Jack' again after he's older... He just can't get rid of her, so he begrudgingly accepts her presence (but absolutely refuses to let her follow on heists). When Joker gets visitors, Merry scares them by abruptly appearing! (Shadow would loudly say, "We're not friends!!" after he gets over the whole 'a ghost suddenly appeared' thing.)

It's okay to be informal, I don't think this message is rude! I took a social media break at that time and set my blog to private, which hid it from searches / prevented anyone from going directly to it. I've been focusing on other hobbies recently so Kaitou Joker hasn't been my central focus, but I'm really glad that you've had my blog in mind for so long... If you like my posts and art, I always encourage saving it privately in case you don't want to lose it. For my art and a few of my character explorations, I do also have it hosted on AO3, if there's ever a reason that you can't go to my blog (usually I keep it up to date).

Big sister Though Rose is significantly older, they've been completely inseparable ever since he was born. Cyan has clung to his older sister's legs just about since he could stand and he's even more determined to protect Rose from harm. It's Rose who is frequently protecting him instead when he gets into fights, though...

I think that there's something especially alluring about Lupin in some ways, since he's a character with more of an adult and dark undertone (under a guise of being a gentleman), in a cast of characters who have generally good hearts and youthful minds. I think that you can really make him dangerous... Maybe in a way that only an adult could be. He is suave, charismatic, and doesn't have a drive to do true evil, but I think that what makes him dangerous is his self-defined 'gentleman's way' and that you could write him as more of an opportunist; he becomes a friend of Joker, and Joker doesn't LOVE his company, but Joker is surprisingly overly-trusting and quick to forgive. Lupin becomes just one of the absolute weirdos that steals his food and his couch, and then he lets his guard down a little bit too much... Lupin could take advantage of that. It is actually very easy to hurt Joker if you know of his routine and when he lets his guard down. Hachi is determined to be a good host and doesn't dislike Lupin, but it's true that something about Lupin does make him more nervous than other company...

⚠️Lupin/Joker, mention of incest(???) and age gap

The whole bizzare situation with Lupin and him being implied to be an ancestor of Joker really does give that pairing some spice. I was thinking about it recently even though I never talked about it... Ultra confusing time travel age gap incest. Amazing lol Even though I like convoluted and really bizarre time-whimey pairings with questionable ethics, truthfully I usually just exclude that lore when I ship them, to make it less complicated. Joker doesn't know about it, and I feel like Lupin can also be surprisingly dense about some things, even if he picks up any clues. (Joker sure is his type! ... He wonders why he reminds him so remarkably of his fiance... Hmm! No clue. Lupin has a thing for silver hair and lovely blue eyes, though.)

...I also like to make Lupin a scumbag cheater, though he claims his heart belongs to no one truly but Jane. I'm sure he'd say something like 'the women of the world need him' until he decides to tie the knot and settle down. My version of him leans towards women, but Joker isn't the first man that he's been involved with. Mostly, he's attracted to femininity...

Witches of Time and Youth...

It would be very cruel if one thing the siblings were never told about Rose's lineage is that witches of time don't die naturally or don't age past a certain point. What if Rose just suddenly stopped aging, and it slowly dawned on Shadow that his sister isn't changing at all? What if it wasn't her choice?

Ultimately that would mean that Rose would eventually find herself alone, if they couldn't find or didn't pursue a way to help her age naturally...

Maybe the only person with a familiar face would be Phoenix, if he'd ever visit Earth after Joker's passing.

Eternal youth and life, something coveted by most of humanity, is a miserable curse for Rose. As far as eternal life goes, Phoenix doesn't feel so strongly--but he deeply relates to some aspects of misery in an eternal life. It is exceedingly rare to meet a human who hates the idea of it.

I wonder if that would pique his interest enough to visit her... The only familiar face left from his times with Joker.

I knew that the Japanese fandom was much more active than English circles for KJ, but I was really surprised to see that it seems like the Korean fandom is much, MUCH more active than even the Japanese fandom (presently). I wonder why that is... I wonder if it's airing more actively there.
