āDefinitely not the kind of guy Iād be interested in getting to know better.ā Thad responded with a chuckle. He followed Djaliās lead with no hesitation, willing to go anywhere even if they did end up lost. Sometimes getting lost was the most important part of the journey. Once they arrived at the restaurant, Thad came to a halt and looked up at the storefront with wide eyes. It looked like a fun place and the promise of customized pizza had his mouth already watering.
āSounds like a dream come true.ā Thad responded with a wide smile, grabbing Djaliās hand and practically dragging him into the restaurant. The trip had made him extra hungry and he wasnāt willing to wait another minute to get both pizza, blackberry iced tea and time with the hot older guy whoās hand he was holding.
Djali couldnāt hold in his laughter as he found himself being tugged into the restaurant, still very much endeared by Thadās excitement and also just excited himself. Wherever this went between them, he didnāt think he would mind just being able to spend the time with and get to know Thad better. If there was anything there, any sort of potential at all, he didnāt want to rush it--Thad seemed like a genuinely good person and Djali could see them being great friends if nothing else. It just helped that he was adorable and goofy and ridiculously handsome all at once.
Djali led the way through the ordering process once they were inside, as it was one of those order-first-and-then-sit places and he wanted to give Thad time to think about what he wanted. When they reached the register, he waved Thad away and pulled out his own wallet to pay for the both of them. āI brought you here, mate,ā He explained dismissively, finishing up the transaction before turning back to Thad with his tea in hand,Ā āWhere do you wanna sit?ā

I donāt either. Give me London over this dump any day - at least that city is the normal amount of human crazy rather than the ridiculous that this town has.

Djali Kozlov. [bows jokingly, grinning and winking as he straightens] Youāll have to forgive me for not already knowing yours, lovely.

Thad quickly fell into step besides the older boy. He knew his eagerness at their adventure was showing, but he hoped that Djali would find it charming. There was no way he was going to be able to hide it - this was the kind of adventure he didnāt get to go on very often with someone as cool as Djali. But he needed to remind himself to be casual and get to know the older Slytherin. Maybe the more he learned the less he would seem like just a dream and more like a normal guy.
āIs there anyone who doesnāt like pizza?ā Thad responded cheekily with a grin and a soft nudge of Djaliās elbow.Ā āOf course now that youāve brought up pizza we better be getting some for dinner. Once I have my mind set on it you canāt take it away from me.ā As they walked along the alley, Thad took in his surroundings. They were clearly in London, but nothing seemed familiar so far. He must not have explored this part of the city yet. He hoped the restaurant wouldnāt be much further. He wanted to get Djali somewhere a bit more private so he could truly get to know him - especially if it was over a pizza.
It wasnāt hard to see Thadās excitement, but Djali didnāt mind in the slightest. More than anything, he found it to be endearing, but it was also just nice to know that, not only did Thad enjoy adventuring as much as he did, but the kid was genuinely enjoying spending time with him. When the people he was with were happy, Djali was happy--and besides, happiness led to more fun.
āDude, what kind of guy would I be if I mentioned pizza but wasnāt planning on going to get some?āAfter a brief pause, he turned to look Thad in the eye and said, very seriously,Ā āThe worst kind.ā Then he broke into a grin again as they came to the sidewalk, hesitating just enough to think of which way to turn before leading Thad to the left. The walk to the restaurant was very short from there, as it was only a block down the street, so they were still in mid-conversation when they arrived.Ā āMod Pizza,ā Djali announced, feeling like Thad wouldnāt be offended by his cutting in,Ā āHave you been to Subway? Itās the same concept but, you know, with pizza. They also have this bomb-ass blackberry iced tea, and they serve alcohol.ā

Thad found apparating absolutely invigorating. Sure it wasnāt the best feeling in the world and left him feeling a bit sick afterwards. But the possibilities were endless with apparating. He could easily get away whenever he needed if only he were old enough to do it. Just a few more months and then he could. Wellā¦.that and a class. And a test. But those were logistics he preferred to ignore.
When they landed in some random alley, Thad had to take a moment to regain his bearings before turning to Djali and smiling wide.Ā āThat was awesome. Not my first time though. Iāve done it a bunch of times with my parents. I donāt mind it though. Kindaā¦exciting.ā He couldnāt hide his excitement. He could already feel the pulse of London underfoot and instantly felt at home in the familiar city. However he wasnāt entirely sure where he was currently.Ā āIām hoping you know the way to this mysterious place from here..ā
"You wound me, Thad,ā Djali rested the back of his hand against his forehead and let out a dramatic sigh, grinning again the moment his arm fell,Ā āOf course I know how to get there. Aimless adventuring is fun, but we actually have plans.ā With that, he started down the alleyway, waiting until Thad had fallen in step beside him before continuing,Ā āItās not far. You better like pizza, or else we canāt talk anymore.ā
Though there were many other places he favored, London had always been one of his favorite places to be in Great Britain. Cities all had a different feel to them, unique even from one another between them, and the low hum of London was all at once charming, comforting, and exciting. People were usually kind, there was a fantastically awesome night life, and there always seemed to be something happening--and, even when there wasnāt, it seemed as if London had a million places to explore. If all went well, he wanted to take Thad to one such place.

Djali had never been a huge fan of apparating--they were right when they said it felt like being forced through a tiny little tube, and he always felt a bit nauseous afterwards, even six years after having originally been taught. Besides, he preferred real road trips to just appearing somewhere. Of course, being able to apparate came in handy during times like these, when they didnāt necessarily have the time to take a train into London. It made things easy.Ā
So apparating it was. After taking a brief moment to gather his bearings, Djali opened his eyes to a brick wall across the small alley they had appeared in. Thad was beside him, still holding on miraculously, and he could hear car and foot traffic from the street that the alley opened up into. They were only a short walk from the restaurant he had intended on taking Thad to, thankfully. Speaking of--turning his head, Djali offered the boy a small smile,Ā āThat wasnāt your first time, was it? I should have warned you, thatās my bad.ā

āSounds like home,ā Thad responded with a wide grin, his excitement beginning to run through his body like an electric current. He wanted nothing more than to get to know this mysterious older boy in his all time favorite city. Especially since he hadnāt been there ever since running away from home.
"Then to London it is,ā Djali held his arm out to Thad and winked,Ā āHold on tight.ā

Thad bit his lip at the question, unable to imagine that the cool older boy he once knew was standing here in front of him wanting to learn more about him. But despite just how young he felt, he also was feeling pretty bold and didnāt want to pass up this opportunity to have Djaliās undivided attention.Ā āThen how about you get to know me better. Maybe over a meal? Or even just a drink. If Iām going to be divulging some of my secrets, Iād prefer to be somewhere a little bit more privateā¦and intimate.ā
"Fair enough,ā Djali found himself laughing, not unkindly, and then ran a hand through his hair to get it off of his face. It had been a thinly veiled invitation to go out, but, despite the kidās age, he didnāt want to say ānoā. Thad was interesting, funny, and damn cute and it wasnāt like going out to eat was illegal. "How about...ā He gave it some thought, humming idly, and then snapped once as he turned to grin at Thad again,Ā āI know just the place. How does London sound?ā

Itās rare I meet anyone else that does. Most people here seem to have drunk the kool-aid already.
Honestly, I dunno what the hell is up with that. Donāt get me wrong, Hogsmeade is, like, quaint or whatever, but fuck, is it boring and terrible and--and justĀ sad. And then some people are in love with it somehow? I just donāt get it.
