Welcome to Artist Alley!
We all know Tumblr and artists go together like peaches and cream. Welcome to our Artist Alley: empowering artists to sell their work straight from their own storefronts, on their own terms.
Artist Alley is where you can browse and discover a small selection of the many outstanding artists on Tumblr and support the art you love by buying directly from the artist who makes it.
Are you an artist? Do you want your storefront promoted all across Tumblr for free? Submit an image of your work and a link to your storefront to Artist Alley for the chance to be featured, to be revered, to be loved, and—most importantly—to sell your stuff.
Any questions? Good news: We have an FAQ page.
Hey, really really soon I'm reducing my work hours to 7 a day! I'm really looking forward to it - not only an hour more of rest, but cutting away that last often terrible hour will do me a world of good.
Working in childcare in a new state, I've gotten sick now for the 5th time in 4 months. Currently have the norovirus/stomach flu, so I'm not going to touch current earplugs orders until Sunday.
At the same time, I've slowly collected so many really awesome tools and techniques whenever I have the spare cash and/or time. My room is 90% art studio, 5% hammock, and 5% clothes. Gosh it would be wonderful to be a full-time artist... Even now, getting a huge order and using that money to buy more supplies makes my month! I'm so thankful to everyone for your interest and support.
Hey I juat wanted to let you know-- the velociraptor paper craft stumbled across my dash and I followed the notes over to this art blog and WOW!! ALL THE LIL GUYS... Big big kudos on figuring out how to bring these to life!!!! They're all amazing and super well done! Even just going through your blog made my day!!! ;A; will definitely be sharing this page with another bug enthusiast friend of mine once I run into her
Aww thank you <3 that made MY day! Gosh would I love to make these more often, heck, full time. I think about my art and ideas every day, the moment I get a steady time of it you'll know 'cause I have so much more to share! Kudos to you and your friend <3
Me, my brother, and sister-in-law law are going to move to a different house soon, we aren't in the greatest neighborhood - I kinda suspect one of the orders I was shipping out got stolen :/ besides that the mailman keeps skipping pickup even with a USPS request and the flag up, which keeps delaying shipping. So hopefully by April we'll be in a new place and shipping will be a bit better.
You know I am always thinking about my little business whenever I have a spare moment. Just wish I had more spare moments to string together to actually make something of it!
At least my earplugs are helping people.
I’m not a “brand account”
Please interact with me. I’m Bex. I am just one person making things. (sometimes my sister helps out too- she is paid don’t worry). I’ve seen push-back against interacting with brands on here, and that’s totally fair! Fuck Wendy’s, or whatever. I’m just a bit concerned that some folks might take that to mean any business- no! Support small businesses! Support artists! Support charities! Support non-profits! I blaze posts sometimes because reach is important, because I am selling things. I can guarantee any money I make goes towards me (and my sister) paying rent, eating food and occasionally buying nice things (usually from other artists).
I’m jumping on your post, both cause I’m a small independent artist too, but also, because it cannot be stated enough:
Reblog posts you like from independent creators/artists/etc!
I tried Blaze to balance out the difference in the reblog/like ratio and it just wasn’t the same as years ago organically reaching people through word of mouth via reblogs. This website is AMAZING for small creators when people reblog posts cause that’s basically a free way to show your support for a maker and it gets more people involved in the community.
Oh yes, re-blog for SURE!! It’s very important, when likes really do nothing (but it’s great to receive support that way). Honestly I live for comments in tags. I read all of them. Don’t be afraid to comment on reblogs or replies or whatever though, I personally don’t find it rude at all!
Holy crap, these are detailed! There’s a super wide variety, too – coelacanths, thylacines, Mesozoic critters, lots of different fish. Keychains and 3D printed items as well as plushies, even. Nothing in a Silurian/Devonian that I’m noticing, but it all looks really worth the prices.
Wow OP’s designs are amazing! Definitely click through to their shop and give it a look.
Another artist I know of on here who this post reminded me of is @roarincreations, who does mostly modern arthropod kirigami kits – but they’ve branched into dinosaurs and a few other paleo designs recently! Not to distract from OP, i hope, but i think people interested in OP’s work might enjoy roarin’s products as well
Is paleoplushies :) (sorry I have been absent, moved states again)

When I have 40 min of free time and half a spoon of energy, I will finally post this velociraptor
Final draft!! I'm so happy and proud of how it turned out! There's quite a bit left to do - score lines, template, instructions, pre-cutting models - but aaaa I'm so happy! It's better than I could have hoped.
Score lines are set, and a last final edit making the big toe claws a bit bigger. Very balanced and poseable imo, but still suited to mounting. I'll be making instructions next, and then the display model(s)

Hehehe I'm just so happy with it. I somehow always forget what a joy it is to complete one of these. My inner 10-year-old is absolutely screaming in excitement. It even stands on its own!!!! Aaah!
3 pieces! Topside, underside, and jaw :D

Is it strange that it makes me happy when people email me with questions/concerns? Idk, real people are making my designs!! How cool is that!?
Worked on my velociraptor for the first time in a while, just a few more drafts to go I think. I might make a mount for it - heck if a mount is popular, I may make a mount for my other models too.
