Yeah and the people in the countries it “works” in have to wait for days and days to be seen by a doctor for serious things like broken bones. People die waiting for sub-par care, or get told, literally, that they’ll have to pay for privatized care if they want genuinely good and reliable medical care. Some of these people come to America because we have some of the highest standards of medicine.

The absurd prices of modern medicine for Americans isn’t because of privatization - literally the opposite. The government, as is tradition, tried to “improve” our healthcare system and subsequently regulated it to the point there is zero market competition and they’ve fabricated monopolies on a per-state basis. The price of insulin is so high because the government created the opportunity for monopoly, and left no room for natural competition to bring prices down to earth.

This kind of healthcare market can only be propped up by massive government overreach. Our healthcare system is neither private nor socialized. It is bastardized.

no the healthcare system in america is simply a pile of shit it doesn’t work and people let things grow and go undiagnosed simply because they cannot afford to see the doctor. the people that are dying because they cannot afford to see a doctor far outweigh the ones that die waiting.

also, free health care for all works albeit slower but it works. my mother broke her ankle, got x-rayed, spent 2 days in the hospital (3 nights, 2 days), got surgery, had 7 sessions of physio along with visiting the hospital to ensure she was healing correctly, and paid absolutely zero dollars. her only medical expense was the cost of an aircast which was less than $50. so yes, health care for all works and it is not some leftist dream because there is actual evidence of it working.

It took me a few seconds to realize that this is meant as a diss, because you genuinely think that doctor should not be paid for administering check-ups.

Your doctor went to medical school for nearly a decade, worked hard for so many years of their life to become proficient in their work, and paid who-knows-how-much in tuition to be taught by the best, and you think you should be entitled to their labor for free? No compensation for their work to help you?

oh yikes you actually think that’s how it works? that they’re paid solely from the cost of your check up??? 😂😂 please read up on how they get paid cause it’s not solely based on the price of a check up. also, canadian doctors are well compensated despite check ups and ANY walk in or pre set appointment being completely free
