Some days it takes longer to warm up. I'm not usually happy with the sketches as I draw them
Only with distance can I see the pretty and not the ugh-damn-yuck
It's been a while but I'm still alive

Viggo attempts to marry Hiccup just to humiliate him only for Hiccup to genuinely agree.
Viggo *upset*: This arrangement was meant to humble you. Why would you agree to marry me?
Hiccup: It was necessary *thinks about the benefits of being married*
Monetary benefits! Peace between their tribes! Frequent kinky sex! Chance to teach Viggo about dragons!
What was that last one?
Uh, chance to teach Viggo about dragons?
No, the one before that.
Peace between their tribes?
No, no, the one between those two.
Oh, the kinky sex? Yeah, don’t worry about it. It’s all good in the archipela-hood.
this started out as a joke but it got away from me, enjoy hiccup being an absolute menace and squeezing out all his benefits<3
@thedragon-and-hisboy @eat-your-milk i know you two love this too<3
.
hiccup: according to clause vii of the berkian marriage accord, as ratified by the tribes of the northern reach, the highland clans, and the isles of norvegr, as your legal spouse i now hold shared jurisdiction over all your property, holdings and military assets. which includes full command over your fleet :)
viggo: you what—no, you can't do that.
hiccup: yes, i can. and i have. it's explicitly stated in the marriage contract that you signed, right beneath the clause about ceremonial yak exchanges.
viggo: well, then i'll claim equal rights over berk. we're married, aren't we?
hiccup: ah, but you designated me as the 'wife' in the official documentation, didn't you? when you said, quote, "hiccup haddock, i will make you my wife", unquote, which, under berkian inheritance law, means you've relinquished any claim to my tribe's assets. authority over berk remains solely with me and my bloodline.
viggo:
hiccup: it's an old legal structure, you see. wives manage all household and clan property by tradition, originally implemented to prevent a husband from exploiting his wife's status for political or financial gain, seizing her clan's resources, abandoning her with dependents, or leveraging the marriage for power.
hiccup: guess you should have read the fine print, husband.
Hoo hoo hoo thats all so fun!! Viggo thought he was in charge and Hiccup says ☝️ actually half your shit is mine now. Sorry not sorry.
I saw that bit in the tags about Viggo figuring out how to incapacitate Hiccup to control his assets!! Now IM getting carried away, but I can imagine the gang helping Hiccup come up with increasingly wild and obscure legal protections, forging ancient law documents to try and keep Viggo off his back lol. Ofc eventually Viggo’s gonna figure it out. And it'll be bad news for our boy. But that's a different chapter >:3
Okay but what if it was STOICK finding all these clauses?
Like, plenty of these legalities have been moot for ages because who has time to fuck over their spouses when they're busy fighting dragons and might not even still have a spouse by the next day? So Viggo, in his research, finds the more current wedding contracts, the ones that are much simpler and designed to give spouses what remains of assets and dependents if the other were to fall in battle and/or have to remarry. He assumes the most up to date contracts are what Berk will reference for his and Hiccup's marriage.
In assuming so, Viggo doesn't bother to read over the contract Stoick prepares or question why the Chief of Berk is so easily signing away his only son and heir. Berk is full of barbarians, after all.
But Stoick knows the old laws because he once thought he'd have to prepare to marry away his fishbone of a son. He wanted to find all the underhanded ways to protect his boy if he was put in a marriage where his spouse might try to do exactly what Viggo is trying to do. And while he hasn't worried himself with these fears since Hiccup trained dragons, he's glad he still has all that paperwork, that his council is familiar with the laws and are willing to fight and enforce those laws.
Even if Viggo tries to fight back, Berk will stand behind their heir.
rip dagur you would've loved sending hiccup unwanted dick pics and also just sending unwanted dick pics to people overall
how the dragon riders learn not to open unexpected terror mail from Dagur
@mdoodlerfandomart
Your tags made me think of Hiccup doing that before Dagur was redeemed, and it was such a habit that when Dagur sends Important Correspondence Because War that Hiccup isn't expecting, there is at least once where Hiccup begins to burn it until he remembers that he's allies with Dagur and there might be a chance that it's important and tries to panic put it out.
(Toothless tries to 'help' put it out by blowing on it and that does not help)
Yes! They develop a system where Ruff and Tuff open Dagur's letters first bc they don't care if there's a dick pic. It mostly works except when they want to get a rise out of Hiccup and lie about what's in the letter.
Hiccup, without fail, will react no matter how many times in a row thdy get him with their tricks.
This is fucking hilarious.
I feel like Dagur would make a dick pic using charcoal and rubbing it on paper as an impression. Then he draws the outline with details. When Hiccup discovers black pepper can mix with charcoal easily and sends a bag of that anonymously…
It got funnier!
TEKIA GEDOLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
The guy at my shul audibly sighing into the shofar before the tkia gedolah and then proceeding with the longest blast I've ever heard. A legend
UEGH I don't think anyone truly understands what I mean when I say I'm obsessed with HEX...................... who am i kidding, you probably do.

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
It’s called dark oxygen because it’s produced without any light fueled chemical reactions such as photosynthesis - instead, it’s produced by water electrolysis, an oxidation/reduction reaction occurring due to metallic nodules with differing electrostatic potentials on the sea floor. In essence, a natural electric current is splitting seawater into hydrogen and oxygen.
It’s not called dark oxygen because it’s made of dark matter or anything like that, if anyone was wondering.
dark oxygen, show me the forbidden electron orbitals
i'm obsessed with her
So I don't know if anyone has been keeping up on this case, but I tried looking for posts on it and I've only found transphobic rants and comments. So just... spreading awareness.
There is an ongoing case in Australia currently (the hearing has concluded but the ruling has not been announced) where Roxy Tickle, a trans woman, is suing the Giggle for Girls app and its founder for $100,000, plus another $100,000. Giggle for Girls is a platform exclusively for women, and Roxy was banned from the app after joining.
The app already has a lot of problematic features on it. For example, any new user is required to submit a selfie-- a photo which is then analyzed by ai to determine whether or not the user is a woman. For Roxy, the ai wasn't the issue, however-- in fact, she used the app for several months with no problem. Instead, the owner of the app manually and purposefully overrode the ai, revoking Roxy's access to the app, because she saw her profile. She then refused to reinstate her account and blocked her.
The founder of the app, Sall Grover, has knowingly and persistently misgendered Roxy dozens of times in interviews, articles and posts. I have a chrome extension that shows if a website is queerphobic or not, and when I look up Roxy's name there are only two results not in red.
As well as this, the additional $100,000 dollars Roxy is suing for? That's because of an online campaign waged against her by Grover, who has a large platform on Twitter. Katherine Deves, who had been representing Giggle in court tried to get the case thrown out. And Grover quite literally called in evolutionary biologist Colin Wright to advocate for her case. He's giving evidence for the trial.
There is a fundraiser to "reclaim sex based rights and protections for all women and girls" created specifically for this case. It has raised over $500,000, and that number is still growing.
Anyways. I don't know if I was just the last one to know about this, but the fact that I even found out about this case was because of a post a terf made scares me.
If anyone else has any more information, please add onto this post! And if I missed anything, or said anything wrong, please correct me.
Thank you for taking this time out of your day.
If you want to read more about the case, I would check out these articles:

Me and my friends are trying to spread this case and you have a bit more informations so uh. might just tag a few people and try and get this one to blow up alongside mine

Project 2025. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.
i think one of the most important things you learn about making connections with others is that a significant portion of the time people just do not know theyre doing what theyre doing
sometimes someone is acting selfish because they just didnt think you had any interest in what theyre hogging. sometimes you dont get invited to the movies because your friend could have sworn that you said no. sometimes you think someone is mad at you because theyre bad at hiding how little sleep they got. we are all like little worlds that briefly crash into one another from time to time and we just arent physically capable of seeing the whole picture at once in those moments. and learning that really changed everything!
In my head, I call this "vase of flowers" thinking.
See, when I started driving, I would get irritated by people who drove Soooo Slowly... like, the ones who slow down to 10 MPH to take a turn kind of slow. And then one day I was taking a vase of flowers to an event, and even though I'd strapped it in carefully you can bet I was taking the turns extra carefully to keep it from tipping over, slowing way down, and... oh.
And, like, there are definitely unpleasant people in the world. There are definitely people who are toxic, or just don't care about other people, or have a pattern of hurtful behavior. But there are a lot of people who are just trying to deliver a vase of flowers.
i don't wanna be me i don't wanna be me, i don't wanna be me, i wanna be someone else, preferably a pretty boy with a flat chest and a nice voice, who can say cool things and do cool stuff and is also liked by people :3 pretty please :3
or like, waking up as a giant bug would be alright too i guess

Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
it's so weird as someone who was there to see the original "baeddel" group while they were active to read things like "as a group they hurt no one" and "they were just blunt about transmisogyny" when it's relatively well-documented by people that were in the group that they regularly harassed other trans women that disagreed with them (on top of other trans people in general obviously), engaged in what i've seen people who used to be in the group describe as cult-like levels of isolating the women within ("you can't trust anyone else except us, everyone else is out to get you" kinda stuff), and the entire reason the group fell apart was because of very serious sexual abuse that happened between prominent members. like they are actively erasing not only the way they hurt other trans people but the abuse the trans women in the group itself went through at the hands of other women in the group.
Yeah it's something to watch happen in front of me all the while people are saying that it wasn't that bad and never really was a thing in the first place. Ah well, I suppose.
Wizards (1977)
It just now occurred to me that some of yall don't remember a time before touch screens
Like. The first popular touch screens I knew of were high end new-edition ipods and that was their defining trait. No buttons.
"But how do we use it without buttons?" Well. It has three buttons. Power and volume.
My whole class full of middle class kids had ipod nanos, ipod shuffles they got for Christmas. I had an MP3 player, and before that, a cassette player and a portable CD player.
The 'ipod touch' was goddamn crazy. Like, space-age shit.
I swear to god when I got one as a gift from a well-off relative it had no music, no games, I didn't know how to connect it to the internet, nothing, but the reality of a smooth screen that responded when you touched it like some kind of goddamn hologram, like a pocket mirror with color-changing cuttlefish skin that knew I was touching it, that I just spent a solid hour and a half in my room just swiping the screen back and forth.
And the idea that you could connect to the INTERNET on it?? And not the expensive shitty pixelated crap you paid $50 a minute for on your flip phone, but WHOLE WEBSITES? JUST LIKE ON A LAPTOP? Ooooooooooohmygod.
And it was small enough to hide under the covers with!! I could read after bedtime!!! Before that, I had a second-hand digital camera, and I'd take photos of my comic books during the day so I could read through them later on the tiny ass 2"x2" view screen. And before THAT, it was a bedside lamp I'd scramble to turn off if it sounded like someone was getting close to the stairs.
And after the ipod touch, card readers started getting touch screens. I didn't think I'd ever get used to being encouraged to smear my fingerprints on the glass.
And SMARTBOARDS? Hoooooooooooooooly shit.
Like. I'm not even old yet, and every so often I just suddenly remember that the world I knew at that age doesn't exist anymore.
And what's all this going to become?
Who knows
