Dr.robby trying to distract Dr.collins from the obvious rat beside her feet
blocking baran.tos bc i can't do it anymore </3 sorry women
anyway i think the way baran revealed her epilepsy was so well done and very indicative of who she is as a person and doctor. she's someone who has, most likely, never disclosed this sensitive information to anyone apart from medical professionals. not even her husband knew, and he still doesn't know.
the entire season, baran has done her best to remain professional and cordial and perfect, because she's a woman of colour and thus held to an insane standard. she's had to prove her worth over and over again, and likely is very hard on herself. to be so vulnerable as to share her medical information with another person must have been next to impossible for her to do; thanks to sepideh's amazing performance, you can clearly see her muster the courage to be forthcoming, to answer all of robby's questions, and to do her best to convince him that she's okay and deserves to stay in the ed.
of course she went at it in a roundabout, impersonal way. of course she made it appear as if she just wanted his opinion on someone else's case. she's trying to deflect and remain objective and not become emotional about something that is scary and terrifying and can possibly have a devastating, negative impact on the future of her career. baran is the kind of person who wants desperately to have total control over herself, including her body and emotions, especially in front of a male doctor who is supposed to be her peer.
if baran walked up to robby and was totally transparent and blunt and had no issue discussing her epilepsy, that would be 1) boring to watch, 2) out of character for who the writers have built her to be as a person, and 3) unrealistic.
“why didn’t al hashimi just tell robby straight up about her epilepsy? why did she do it in a convoluted way?” because she saw robby’s mental state and how he was acting all day. he never once belittled or demeaned a patient. his staff? yes. but those under his care? not at all. by putting herself in the patient role she can ease him into the news about her health. and it almost kinda works.

my noble and wise rare pair vs your crazy reaching stupid crack ship
robby baran and jack go out for drinks and then one thing leads to another and they have a threesome without communicating the fact they’re all into each other so the next day everyone pretends to be very chill and normal and mature about it while on the inside crying and throwing up because It Meant More. and then they go to their homes and clock in for work later.

i wont hatepost but sometimes it does feel like this to scroll fandom tags
i just want to say i appreciate you mentioning military copaganda wrt abbott. for a fandom that rightfully calls out so many issues with male characters like robby/langdon/whitaker the comparative silence about abbott being an ex military working with swat is deafening
tbh i've seen people making posts about and bringing up abbot and his connection to the military/cops, thankfully. i get the sense that the reason it may not be as prevalent is because he's a side character compared to the others?
