another element of the fucked up situation canadians find ourselves in in regards to climate change is the lack of air quality testing stations. i can’t get air quality readings where i live. cities usually have at least one but those of us in rural areas have to base it off of the nearest city, which in some cases is like 100-200km away!! bc canada just does not have that many cities. but we do have so so so much boreal forest that is going to keep catching fire and sending smoke everywhere. whether or not the sky is clear isn’t even a good indicator of air quality in a situation like this where all of ontario has been hit with smoke from the fires.

so like none of the levels of government will do anything to prevent the wildfires and they won’t even make infrastructure for canadians to understand if it’s safe to go outside

#i’ve been in a week long borderline panic attack over the wildfires and smoke its soooo fine #im not even that rural if we’re going to start talking abt northern ontario or saskatchewan or something #but i can’t get accurate readings for my location #hella.txt

if you think for even just a second how fucking crazy bonkers it is that women are so frequently kept from being protagonists or important or fully realized characters when its like. That is literally 50% of the world population. Half of all people (more or less. hopefully more as time marches on!) are women. And you look at media and think about how many protagonists are men and their best friends are men and the ensemble cast is 80-100% men and the fandoms are about men and the romances are about men. well.
