I met Victor’s creature. He had come to apologize to Victor for all that he had done, but it was too late. The creature promised me that he would cause no more harm. He planned on committing suicide by burning himself in a fire. He said this, and then he left. For some reason, I felt compelled to believe him. And even if he decides to continue life, he had realized what he had done was wrong, and seemed sincerely apologetic. I suppose there isn’t really any way to know for sure now is there?

Victor passed away today. Before he died he asked me to continue his search for the creature and to kill him. he wanted to rid the world of the monster he had created. I feel as though i should grant his request. A beast who has it out for all of humanity isn’t something one can just let roam free in the wilderness.

Victor finished his tale by telling me how he embarked on a journey to hunt down and kill the monster he had created. Victor has been on the hunt for months. the creature keeps leaving him little clues and messages here and there, seemingly taunting victor into a wild goose chase.

Victor didn’t really go into much detail on his wedding. He seemed pretty paranoid throughout the whole ordeal. All his worries had been geared towards the thought that the creature was coming to kill him, when in actuality, he had been coming to kill Elizabeth. Victor’s poor wife was killed on her wedding night, with no knowledge of what victor had done. he never even got the chance to explain to her the situation. No wonder he didn’t go into much detail about their wedding. That’s just brutal.

Henry eventually got tired of having been abandoned in Scotland, so he and Victor decided it was time to return home. He rows out onto the lake to dispose of the second creature, and in the morning he is confronted by the magistrate for the murder of, you guessed it, Henry Clerval. Obviously the killer was the creature, but no policeman is going to believe that the crime was committed by a 7 foot tall living corpse. Once again, Victor gets sick, and this time it’s his father who comes up to care for him seeing as Henry was recently unavailable.

 My general consensus of Victor’s personality is that he isn’t able to deal with his problems. When something bad happens and it’s his fault, he just gets sick until someone comes along to wipe his butt for him. He does this until the problem is so distant, that it no longer seems like a problem and he can just brush it off. Basically he’s an irresponsible procrastinator.

Victor promised the creature that he would build his bride, Victor worked on his project in the Orkneys, which is a cluster of island just off the coast of Scotland. However, after he completed the new monster, he decided that it was too ugly to let live, and victor destroyed it. Naturally, this was upsetting to the creature, and he promised to be with Victor on his wedding night.

After finishing his tale of woe, the creature asked Victor to construct him a bride. seeing as he would receive no love from humans, he hoped that someone equally hideous would be able to accept him, and they cold be happy. He even promised to hide away with her in South Africa, never to bother him or anyone else again. I completely understand his request. The poor guy just wanted some companionship. 

When victor told me this, it brought back a memory from the beginning of my voyage, when I had felt all alone in the world. While I still have the love of my sister, the creature was even rejected by the one who made him. I can’t even imagine the thought of really not having anybody in the wold to call a friend.

The creature’s story is proof that evil isn’t born it’s made. This dude just wanted to be accepted by the family he’d been creepily watching for months and they completely rejected him. Imagine taking a brave step to come out to people that you think are trustworthy, only for them t beat you and kick you out. No wonder he succumbed to his rage and started killing people. i would probably do the same if people only saw me as a monster. The creature has all my sympathy.

Creature: I really wish we had something between us.

Victor: Me too.

Creature: Really? Like what?

Victor: A wall.

Victor’s creation spent most of his time hiding in a shack in the yard of a french family. He picked up language by spying on their lives from a hole in the wall. Now, I don’t advocate stalking, but this dude must be pretty smart to be able to pick up a whole language just by listening. I could certainly never do that. At first he was just like a child. He was fascinated by light and sound and heat; he was left to figure out how the world worked on his own because Victor abandoned him. The bastard adopted the cottage people as his loved ones, despite actually meeting them. He started out as a pretty nice guy; he was curious and determined to do the right thing.

victor spent a whole bunch of time wandering around in nature trying to recollect his thoughts after Justine’s trial. He was chillin’ on a glacier (pun intended) when who should approach him but, the creature! Victor says he seemed remorseful about killing William. I don’t know if i believe that quite yet though. this guy hasn’t gotten a good reputation so far from what victor’s told me. Also he’s really painful to look at. Victor showed me a picture, it’s one of the most grotesque things I’ve ever laid eyes on.

Victor’s family is not fortunate when it comes to living a long, healthy life. After getting over his illness, Victor received word that his brother, William, had died. Their servant Justine was tried and killed for the crime, but according to victor, he had seen his monster lurking around in the woods. He was the one who had killed William and he had framed Justine for it. This creature guy really sounds like a douche.

An Update on Victor’s Story

After creating a monster out of corpses, he got really sick and ended up being taken care of by Henry Clerval, aka Victor’s right hand man. I’m not surprised he became ill. It’s to be expected from someone who created an ugly freak of nature that escaped in the middle of the night. He didn’t even have the kid for a whole day and he already managed to let it lose into the world. Poor Elizabeth is out on her luck if she wants kids, this guy is a terrible father.

After being accepted into Ingolstadt, a college in Germany, Victor took up an interest in anatomy, which, combined with the recent passing of his mother, fueled his desire to create life. I know, it sounds like a really stupid idea, but Victor was going through a phase where he wanted to be an almighty god. Since he was all alone at college, there was no one to smack him upside the head and call him an idiot.

The guy we rescued is from Switzerland. His name is Victor Frankenstein, and he seems to have had a pretty spoiled childhood. His mother, before her untimely passing, gave him a person! She literally found a poor girl and thought, “wow, she’s pretty. I’ll give her to my son as a gift.” I don’t know about you, but to me that seems pretty sketch. Not that I’m judging; to each their own and all that, but imagine receiving a person as a gift. I have to admit though, she was pretty.
