In May of 2012 Sr. Alberto Aguilera (Juan Gabriel) during his Mother's Day Concert in Mexico City unexpectedly called me on stage. He knew I was just starting to get into photography, but never did I for one second imagine he would call my name in front of thousands of fans. Although I heard my name, it did not register right away. He looked down at my wife, Stephanie, who was sitting in the front row and made it clear that he was looking for me, pointing down at her he asked, "tu esposo?". As I walked towards the stage from the far left where I was standing next to his son, Ivan, holding my amateur Canon Rebel camera (which I thought was so cool at the time), Ivan confirmed he was in fact asking for me. I was so nervous and excited at the same time that of course the last thing I wanted to happen, did happen.. I stumbled going up the stage! Trying to keep my composure, I looked at him and I can see him smiling back and chuckling. Good thing I didn't drop my camera because he then asked me to take a picture of him with this young group of Mariachis. You can imagine how nervous I was as a beginner photographer, I was praying that this picture would actually come out good! Lol This is one photo that I treasure and will treasure for ever! Thanks to him calling me out of my comfort zone, this was the beginning to what now became my photography career. He believed in me and my God-given talent. Shortly after this photo he asked me to join him on tour and later became his personal photographer. Sr. Alberto, I am forever grateful for the amazing 4 years that I was able to experience. I thank God for placing you in my life. I look back to memories and always find myself smiling and laughing. We truly wish we could continue to celebrate you today and continue making memories. We will forever celebrate you in our hearts. Happy Birthday! Feliz Cumpleanos! (Since he always got a kick out me speaking Spanish) ;) #JuanGabriel #EternamenteAgradecido
