Hi Taylor! So I wrote 11,436 words on your impact in the music industry, feminism and how women are treated in the media. It actually ended up giving me my best academic grade in my whole 3 years at university (!!!) and gave me a HIGHER overall grade than what I was predicted! I’ve always struggled with academic writing so this was a major win for me. I’ve always been super passionate about my studies and it just made sense to blend my other biggest passion…YOU! So I just wanted to thank you for not only providing the soundtrack for my endless hours in the library (6 months worth to be exact) but for providing me with the ability to achieve more than I ever thought I could.

I know it might sound super cliche, but part of why I became an English teacher was because I wanted to teach others what Taylor has taught me. Taylor has taught me the importance words have in society; they’re one of the most powerful weapons in the world, and they should always be used to mend people back together instead of tear them apart.

I try and make everyday’s lesson end with her quote of, “But no matter what happens in life, be good to people. Being good to people is a wonderful legacy to leave behind.” She’s taught me this and I do my best to make sure our future generation is taught this, too.

On September 29th, I’ll be seeing her in Houston, and it would be the biggest dream come true to tell her how much she’s taught my students about kindness and love. She’s been one of my biggest role models since 2007 and I’d love the opportunity to tell her that.

Because I spend so much of my time teaching, I never have time to get on Tumblr to try and get noticed. The day after Me! dropped, I changed my entire lesson, so that I could reinforce similes and metaphors with my kiddos. I’m always trying to incorporate Taylor into my lessons. They mostly revolve around her mindset and how she views the world, but also, Taylor’s lyrics are always so great for teaching literary devices. So thanks, @taylorswift, for being such a wholesome human being and helping me teach the power and magic of words through human interaction and songwriting. 🥰🥰 @taylornation
