Don’t allow time to trick you into believing the toxicity you experienced at their hands wasn’t ‘that bad’. Forgive yourself and move on, but don’t forget their poor treatment as this will set you up to be used again when they come knocking later.
Integrity is choosing courage over comfort; choosing what is right over what is fun, fast, or easy; and choosing to practice our values rather than simply professing them.
Brené Brown
tbh the real advice I’d give to anyone is, do shit alone. go to a museum & go at your own pace & leave the instant you’re done. go somewhere you’ve never been and just wander around, duck into & out of places as it pleases you. linger as long as you’d like.
“A woman enjoying the pleasure of her own company at the bar exudes a certain sophistication: independence and enjoyment intermingles with a whiff of reserve. She’s like the woman rewarding herself with a slice of cake or sneaking off to the cinema on her own, untroubled by the judgement of others and clear about her priorities. It’s a long way from the boisterous night out on the lash with the girls, more a moment of self-indulgent pleasure.”

In case you didn’t know! 😊
I’m so tired of being called toxic for finally standing my ground and stopping people from walking all over me. I’m starting to believe them.
People who aren’t used to you setting healthy boundaries can often get annoyed when you finally do. Normally those that don’t support your boundaries tend to be toxic people themselves. Keep doing what’s best for you and do make sure you’re not actively hurting others as you do so. I don’t know your situation, but I fully support your quest to assert your right to equal and fair treatment by those around you.
