Light My Fire
âYou havenât heard of the streak?â Iris asked. âHeâs been all over Central City doing some really amazing things.â âThe FlashâŚâ Barry corrected. Iris raised an eyebrow at him, âI heard heâs going by the Flash now. And yeah heâs been doing some real good around the city. Including knocking out creeps bothering pretty girls. He shook her hand, âIâm Barry.â
âWell I just moved here from Starling City, so I guess Iâm more of an alien than anything,â She joked, smiling at the two. âSo thisâŚFlash guyâŚwhatâs his deal? Is he some kind of mystery hero or something?â
Artemis raised her eye brows in surprise, impressed by his boldness. The guy was cute, sheâd admit, and she liked the gentle confidence that was emanating off him. âArtemis,â She said, her eyes not leaving his as she shook his hand once. âArtemis Crock. And this pretty girl is happy the first guy sheâs met in this town is someone as handsome as you.âÂ
âArtemis, like the Greek goddess?â He smiled and blushed madly when she called him handsome. The Flash gave him confidence but when he was being just Barry not so much.
She laughed, her eyes falling to her shoes. She thought it was amusing how often she was asked that question, by nearly every person she met in her civilian life. But coming from this guy? Well, she didnât seem to mind too much. âYeah, like the goddess. It was either that or Ares, goddess of war, but mom wasnât too keen on that for obvious reasons.â She teased. âIs Barry short for something?â
âSo...back to this Flash guy...what is he to the city? Is he a hero, a vigilante, or does no one know anything about him?â She wondered, finding it strange there was a hero in Central City that was so good at keeping his work under the radar. âIâm kind of a super hero nerd, so...â
