Not a bad office for the day. (at Weymouth Woods-Sandhills Nature Preserve)
Ah the mythical Vampire Bat in real life, gorged on blood from a recent feed. This is the Common Vampire Bat, Desmodus rotundus, one of three species that feed solely on blood. Vampire bats can walk and jump unlike any other! #bats #vampire (at Panama)
I made friends with a mud turtle in Cocobolo. #turtle #Panama #nature #underwater (at Panama)
@claybolt with a bag of treasures - the Limosa Harlequin Frog, Atelopus limosus, a special resident of #Cocobolo #Nature #Reserve in #Panama (at Panama)
A bird in the hand. A Common Pauraque in Cocobolo Nature Reserve. Thanks to @gourmetbiologist for the patience while I photographed this beauty. #nature #birds #wildlife #conservation (at Panama)
Spot the limosa harlequin frog, Atelopus limosus, the species that drew me to Cocobolo Nature Reserve. It was incredible to see all stages, from juvenile to adult, of this frog, a true survivor. This population represents an incredible opportunity to study why this species survived while other harlequin frogs disappeared. What makes this population, and this site, so special? I'm excited to find out what the ongoing research reveals. #frogs #amphibians #saveamphibians#lostfrogs (at Panama)
I was really excited to see the Amazon Gladiator Frog in Panama - another species typical of South America found in Cocobolo Nature Reserve. Check those little spikes on the heels! #frogs #nature #amphibians (at Panama)
A little bark mantis in Cocobolo Nature Reserve, #Panama #nature #mantis (at Panama)

There are few places in the world where you can interact so intimately with an endangered animal as at Giraffe Manor in Kenya, where Rothschild's Giraffe stop by for a snack. #GiraffeManor #giraffes #Nature #humor @natgeocreative @natgeo @natgeotravel (at Giraffe Manor, Nairobi, Kenya)
