"I should have been there." - Lakitia to anyone
Pidge flinched slightly at the touch to her back. An old untreated blast wound had left a nasty scar there, one the med pods more than likely couldn’t heal anymore. She didn’t really care, it didn’t bother her that often.
“… It’s not like it was your fault, Kitia… This stuff is unavoidable during a fight…”
Lakitia nuzzled the girl’s hand lightly when she wiped her tears, looking at her with watery green-blue eyes as she closed her eyes once more before settling her head against the other’s shoulder. “…you mean so much to me..” She said softly while looking up at her, her eyes and markings shining.
She meant what she said, the other girl meant a great deal to her. She had become the other’s world essentially.
“And you to me...” She said, opening her eyes and watching as the other’s markings shone. While she had formed strong bonds with every one in the castle through their journey... She harbored feelings for Lakitia that went far beyond family.

“… It’s not like it was your fault, Kitia… This stuff is unavoidable during a fight…”
Lakitia’s shaking seemed to increase as she allowed her emotions to flow out of her as she held the other girl close. She knew that the other girl, being one of the defenders of the universe was dangerous, but to hear her promise something even if there was no guarantee? It filled her with something she couldn’t explain as tears ran down her cheeks and soaked into the other’s shoulder.
“T-thank you Katie…” She whispered so softly it was almost as if she was scared the world would hear. “…even if the chances are slim in some cases… I-it’s reassuring…” She said softly as she held the girl even tighter in her embrace, scared that if she let go that this would all be a dream.
Pidge settled into the embrace comfortably, turning her head slightly to press her lips gently against Lakitia’s head. She moved a hand to wipe away the alien’s tears gently. She hated seeing the girl so upset.
“You’re welcome...” She mumbled, closing her eyes again.

Lakitia shakes slightly as she holds the other girl gently against her. “…T-Thank you..” She said softly while the shaking grew a bit more, holding onto her. Lakitia couldn’t speak after Pidge said she wasn’t a burden, but why was it that whenever she tried to help, she failed? Whenever she tried to help the people who helped her, they were always getting hurt because of her? She was the last of her kind and yet still she could do nothing to save her family, save the people who meant the most to her. She wouldn’t let it happen a second time… She couldn’t. Not when she had someone so important to her now who’s life was on the line. “…Whenever you get hurt please let me know… I’ll do my best to heal you as quickly as possible so you can keep on fighting… so you can keep on saving the world so long as you always come back to me…” She whispered softly, her voice trembling slightly as she nuzzled the girl’s shoulder. “Promise me…”
Pidge was quiet. She knew that promising she would always return from battle was something she could not do. How many times had the paladins almost lost their lives due to fighting? Lance was the first. The blast he’d taken... Pidge still trembled at the thought of what would’ve happened to him if he’d been closer, or even if the team had failed to get the castle powered up and taken back in time.
Being one of the defenders of the universe was a dangerous job, and Pidge had no doubt that the five of them would end up seriously wounded more than once. This could quite possibly be the first of many scars the youngest paladin would end up receiving.
“... I... I promise...” She let the words slip past her lips, even though she knew full well that she couldn’t possibly guarantee that she’’d come back from a fight.

“… It’s not like it was your fault, Kitia… This stuff is unavoidable during a fight…”
Lakitia pressed a final kiss where the scar ended which was just above the other’s short line. “…I know… I know you want to do all you can to help them… even if your injured and need to rest.. I’ve been there more times then I can count with your brother… And more so now that your in my life…” She said softly before moving to wrap her arms around the small as she rests her head against the other’s shoulder, her face buried against her shoulder and neck. “…I know what it’s like to feel like your a burden… I felt like that every moment I had to be saved or protected by Matt when he was under the druid’s influence..”
Pidge moved to gently lean her head against Lakitia’s, her eyes still closed, “... You’re not a burden, Kitia...” She mumbled, placing her hands on the alien’s arms, “... I don’t always have the time I need to rest and heal... I need to keep working on upgrades and decoding Galra information...”
“... I’ll try to be more careful though...”

Lakitia lightly pressed her lips where the scar started and lightly continued downward, pressing kisses along the scar as her markings glowed faintly, her fingers trailed along side the scar. “…To keep this from everyone… You probably worried them even more… Are they not your friends… your family…? Family is so precious and important. They care about you so much..” She said softly while pressing her lips against the small of her back, still kissing along her scar. “…I care about you so much..” She said softly, barely above a whisper.
Pidge was quiet for the most part, feeling a lot less pain from the scar at the vey least, “I... Only wanted to not be a burden... If I get stuck in the pods, I can’t help them if something bad happens...” She mumbled, keeping herself still. While she didn’t move a single inch, she wasn’t rigged or stiff. She was rather relaxed.
“... I’m sorry...”
"I should have been there." - Matt to anyone
Keith blinked, looking at one of the worse scars he’d obtained in battle as Matt examined it. While the medical pods were able to completely heal most wounds, there were some wounds that still ended up leaving scars.
Keith paused for a moment, then shook his head a bit, “Don’t blame yourself, Matt. It’s not like anyone could do anything about it, and it wasn’t that bad.”
Matt’s own skin was very much marred by scars, many of which would never heal because of the circumstances in which he obtained his scars. Before he would have freaked out over them, however he had grown strong because of them. He knew it was better to wear his scars then let his scars wear him. “…I’ll never stop blaming myself if it’s my fault.. and alright, let’s train.” He said while letting a neutral mask slip into place on his face.
Keith let out a quiet sigh, standing up and holding a hand out to Matt, “... Well, I don’t blame you for anything. If I gotta choose someone to blame, I choose Zarkon. He started this whole mess.” Then again, if he hadn’t needed to become a paladin, he would never had met his team. He would never had formed the bond he’d made with everyone.
“C’mon. We can start whenever you’re ready.”

Lakitia holds her hand in hers as she rests her forehead against the auburn haired girl’s neck. “…Why… Why would you let it go untreated Pidge…” She asked softly against the other girl’s skin. She wanted nothing more then to take the scar from the girl and transfer whatever pain had come with the scar to herself. “…Do you mind if i…?” She asked softly, asking permission to touch it lightly and try to heal it even if it probably wasn’t likely going to happen.
“... I thought that if I hid it, I could stop everyone from worrying about me...” And it had worked, for the most part. Shiro and the others had questioned her from time to time, but she’d somehow managed to keep her wound hidden... Until now of course.
“... I don’t mind.” She mumbled, closing her eyes as she felt Lakitia’s head on her neck.

Lakitia lightly trailed her finger tips along the scar slowly, her eyes sad as she stares at the mark, an imperfection marking the other’s usually flawless skin. “…It feels like it’s my fault.. If only I had been blindsided…” She mumbled while looking down, tears pooling in her eyes. “I had been so stupid.. so foolish…” She said softly while taking in a shaky breath as she brought a hand to her mouth to keep quiet.
“Kitia, it’s not your fault.” Pidge slowly reached a hand over her shoulder, placing it on the alien’s, “It really wasn’t that bad...” A bit of a lie. Pidge had pretty much hid herself in the lab and in her room to keep the others from finding out about it, “It only looks bad because I chose to leave it untreated...”

Matt merely shook his head and looked away. “…Still, I could have done something.. instead of being so useless.” He muttered while barely trailing his fingers over the scar before drawing his cold unfeeling robotic hands away. “…I hate being so useless. Not even fully human… or fully robotic..” He muttered while staring at his robotic hands and legs, his eyes narrow slightly as he clenches his fists. “…Help me get better at fighting… Please..” He asked while looking at him.
Keith was silent, looking Matt over as he thought. Surely the older Holt had been through much more pain than Keith could ever imagine. The feeling of being useless... It was one the red paladin had felt before. After all, he couldn’t do anything the night his parents had died. He’d been too young.
“... I can train with you. But you gotta stop blaming yourself, Matt... You’re not useless. Getting hurt like this... It comes with the job, unfortunately.” He said, gesturing back to the scar that’d been addressed, “And it’s no one’s fault.”
