Bandit Heeler and A Fruit of the Spirit:Patience
Bandit Heeler is the father of Bingo and Bluey in the hit kids' show Bluey. He spends a lot of time playing with his kids, but one characteristic of Bandit really stands out—his patience. In season 3, episode 38, Bingo and Bluey make a huge fort out of blankets and pillows in the living room while Bandit is trying to watch TV. Bandit then needs to get up and use the bathroom. Instead of tearing down the huge fort, he steps over the blankets so his daughters can keep playing. This shows a huge deal of patience that even when he really needs to do something urgently he does not scream and tear down those around him (or their pillow forts).
Another example of this is in season 2, episode 8. Bandit and Bingo are bringing curry to his friend's house. While walking in the park Bingo becomes scared of a magpie. Bandit does not make Bingo go when she is scared. He waits patiently until Bingo is ready to walk. Because of the patience that Bandit shows Bingo is able to collect herself and on the way back is brave enough to walk past the bird.
This is applicable to all of our lives. Everyone has someone around them that needs a little extra patience. Maybe it would be nice to be the person to show them that patience. A really good scripture to read for this is Ephesians 4:2.
“Be completely humble and gentle;be patient, bearing with one another in love”
