When your doggo looks this cute, how could you not turn him into a beautiful drawing :D This is Pickle, my little dachshund, who made the prefect subject sat amongst the snow drops.Â
I had totally forgotten I had this account! Looking at the previous posts I had up I’ve realised how old all the drawings are! Definitely needs an update or two with some recent drawings....Â
Who said pet portraits had to be serious?! This drawing was fun to do and I’m so pleased with how its turned out! Its only a small one, 7″x7″ and its drawing in pastels and pastel pencils.Â
Pastel pencil drawing of a cockapoo in black and white
Spring spaniel pet portrait in pastel
I've finally finished drawing Rosie! I'm pleased with how she's turned out although I wish I'd had an easier photo to draw from!Â
This has been a particularly tricky drawing for me. The client wanted the horse to be drawn without the bridle on which meant for a lot of the drawing I had to guess the shape of her head and the way her mouth naturally sits. I haven't finished it yet but here is my progression so far. Another issue with this has been that in every image I was given she seems to be a different colour so I've had to balance my drawing between all of those. I will post a picture of the finished piece when its done!Â
My most recent commission, a German Shepherd. I was really pleased with the finished piece of this and the lady loved it! Its always nice to get such a lovely response from a drawing. Again its drawn in soft pastels and pencil. This was my first big drawing I did on A3.Â
The first horse drawing I've done. This was another tricky one because the photograph was blurred but I did the best I could and she was very pleased with it. Its drawn in soft pastels and pencil.Â
Pet portrait of a labrador retriever I did for a friend of mine from school. It was my second pet portrait I've done, it was quite tricky because the picture she gave me was blurred but I'm pleased with the finished piece.Â
My first pet portrait! It wasn't a commission but a drawing I did as an example and the drawing that lead to my first commissions. Its drawn in soft pastels and pencils. I've always loved drawing and painting and art in general but never thought about selling anything. However, after putting this up and getting such a great response I realised I could sell my drawings and the money has helped greatly with my living costs for uni.Â
