That’s awkward to come back to this yearly blog for my assessment again lol. I’m finishing my master, and I feel like that I should post something for marking my progress so far just like I did before.
In my final research project, I am investigating a strategy that is using my graphic design skill to show my solidarity with LGBTIQ community in China. The project outcome names QiXi that will present social activities and romantic phenomenon in this Chinese Valentine's Day. The design will include both same-sex and opposite-sex couple characters, which is highlighting same-sex relationship equality that can figure to a larger LGBTIQ group. This project is also practising a method that Chinese style design can help the target audience to feel being accepted culturally, in an age where the Chinese LGBTIQ community feels social and cultural isolated much often. This project is aiming at comforting the target audience and cheering them up. The outcome will be propaganda through the postcard or the in-door decorative wall in the (maybe-really-far-away) future.
Seems okay... but I’m afraid of that I might over evaluate my design skills and outcome lol...
Anyway, there are millions of designers who can draw much better illustration than mine, but I have sincerity and give my wholehearted support to my target audience, that is the main point I choose this topic.
