Uhhhh stupid cringe fic idea I’m too lazy to actually write

Prince Mateo Torrez has lived in a high tower almost his entire life by his own choice due to his incredible fear of the outside world. However, one day his father, the king, gets into an accident and cannot rule to throne anymore. So the kingdom sends sir Rufus (a knight) to retrieve Mateo from his sanctuary to rule in his fathers place and marry.

Rufus has a hard time actually getting Mateo out of the tower but Mateo finally agrees. Mateo wants to try and start actually living his life before he has to give it up again to rule his dads kingdom and Rufus helps with that.

Basicalllyyy a long roadtrip back to the kingdom where Rufus challenges Mateo and Mateo helps elevate Rufus’ troubles. Ofc they fall madly in love.

Idk where the rest of the characters would fall into this sort of au 🤷 this was just a shitty fun idea.

This was inspired by the little one off comment Rufus makes on his way to Mateo’s apartment.“I’m legit gonna pick him up from his house, like he’s some prince stuck in a high tower in need of rescuing.”

Okay now I just imagine that was Mateo and Rufus's own "what if" situation with Rufus bringing that up and Mateo building on it like they're their own dungeon masters.

But that aside, giggled in joy seeing another fanfic idea.
