Literally the main civilizational achievement of the Romans is being the first to build what we might consider a State in the Western world. Everything else is just them loving autocracy and slavery and eating endangered species.
It's pretty great that this dude also thinks the Romans all lived in colonnaded temples and not what were essentially 5-over-ones (with strict height limits imposed for safety).
LITERALLY
What we really need to bring back are Roman communal toilets. I think it would fix the loneliness epidemic

"we detected a mature post" yeah I'm in my 30s
“Why don’t you use ai” idk man beyond the obvious environmental and “this machine causes psychosis and encourages people to kill themselves” thing I think asking the equivalent of a solid D student who is also a pathological liar if they can answer my question/do the work for me seems pretty fucking stupid

PSA: tumblr user littlefuckinmonster is stealing human bones from cemeteries in Louisiana. Please don’t let them get away with this and spread the word/signal boost!
this post is officially a decade old now
For anyone who wasnt around when this happened, this was real. Littlefuckinmonster was actually stealing bones from cemeteries. She is the bone stealing witch. She was specifically stealing bones from poor people. She was arrested for it.
This is not a Goncharov, this literally happened, here’s the Wikipedia article about it.
World Heritage.. Something
I just find it weird the way many people in the west and in predominantly white, Christian societies seem incapable of acknowledging or reckoning with the idea that other cultures have their own bigotries that may look different than theirs in some ways or be organized differently than they are here, but are nonetheless still ethnic/religious/racial biases and prejudices because every fucking culture and society that exists has them.
been having a lot of conversations with my fear lately but she doesn’t want to accept that she’s not protecting me anymore
Batman suspecting that Captain Marvel is a kid so he starts dropping modern slang to prove his suspicions except Billy's chronically offline so their conversations go like this:
Batman: The reports conclude that about six or seven magical artifacts were stolen.
Billy, who has an apartment, a job, pays taxes, and goes on social media at max half an hour a day to update things for Whiz Radio: Golly, Mr. Batman sir this sounds serious, maybe we should get more people on the case!
Batman:
“I asked chat GPT” yeah we can tell
this is too much I'm gonna- *remembers joking about rewatching supernatural is harmful* kill myself
Companies in the 2000s: You wouldn't download a car! Digital copies are still stealing, even if the original copy remains with us.
Companies in the 2020s: That digital copy, which you have paid for, doesn't really belong to you. We're removing it from your library now.
Companies deleting media you've literally purchased is 1000x more realistically "stealing" than digital piracy, you cannot change my mind
