People are sharing videos of Brazilian fans walking to metlife, but it's pretty obvious that they are walking there from Rutherford, and the big conversation this whole time has been that European fans cannot walk there from Times Square
So every "Americans just don't understand how much the rest of the world walks" is missing the point because it wasn't about East Rutherford and it wasn't about Brazilians.
The Rutherford option is like Three Miles. The Times Square option is FOURTEEN.
And a lot of us were saying, specifically, that you cannot walk to MetLife from NYC. You can in theory walk there from Rutherford. People do it. It's not encouraged, but they do.
And it is 88F today. A Brazilian can do that! A EUROPEAN CAN'T. Like sure, a lot of you might make it, but as drunk as you'll be, dehydration/heatstroke are non-negligible risks.
It's the mixture of the heat and humidity, the alcohol, and the heat island effect.
Anyway, yeah, hydrated Brazilians walking from Rutherford is very different from Drunk English Ultras marching from Times Square.
The Brazilians, by and large, know what the fuck they're doing.
And showing videos like "hah, proved you wrong!" is like someone saying that global warming is fake because the winter was colder than usual.
We need an alternative to doesthedogdie cause theyāve started fucking paywalling warnings that include timestamps for triggering moments.
Like what the fuck
I just checked and
Need to read about trigger warnings? Please click the whimsical dog icon for more information!
I recommend Unconsenting Media. Not as comprehensive as DoesTheDogDie, but if sexual assault is a trigger for you, itās a good resource
rbing again real quick--i and other(s?) have noted in other rbs that this is almost never done. it's for very few properties, and it's only for timestamped warnings that are done in-house, not by users.
there are still timestamps available for warnings on those same triggers for those same properties. just bc there's a paywall on something doesn't mean other comments and timestamps can't be posted or read for free on that property or that trigger.
see here:
i don't have an account and haven't paid for anything on the site, so all of those comments are what i'm seeing for free.
i had to search and search to find anything that had paywalls, and had to resort to looking at The Substance, as referenced here. i've been using the site regularly since the op posted and have never organically encountered a paywall on anything, including on very popular properties.
i don't see any reason to stop using the site--everything is still available for free. they just have added another way for some ppl to choose to pay some $ (in addition to ads), since this is a completely free service, and no website is free to maintain.
as an example, someone with the money could pay to see the timestamps, and then leave a free comment with the same timestamps for others if they wanted to.
I've seen this post on my dash a few times now and I want to boost this specific addition. I've emailed the owner of the site to get clarification on this, and I was told the motivation behind this. He wanted to start paying some people to memorize all 200+ triggers on the site, sit down and watch popular movies/shows to thoroughly analyze whenever any trigger pops up, and note down timestamps and details of them. Ads unfortunately do not cover this (they probably only cover the site's base upkeep), so the subscription service is specifically to pay these people. Community comments have never been paywalled and are still accessible.
He thanked me for my feedback when I expressed confusion and concern about the paywalled comments being mixed in with the free comments, and has since updated the site to make them clearly distinct, along with a preview of what the paid comments look like:
He was very transparent about it all and very kind. He also said this was his mistake and is trying to clear it up. Please continue to use DoesTheDogDie.com, it is an excellent resource and there is nothing else like it!
emperor kuzco was clearly gay
hes 19, with unlimited power, and he aināt got a gf. the only time we see him interact with any women his own age is when heās rejecting like 7 of them rapid fire. he pretends to date pacha in a gag that lasts like 10 solid minutes. listen to me god damnit
Okay, but just in case anyone is coming to tumblr dot com for my hot takes on 20+ year old kids' movies: Kuzco super WAS gay (or at least coded as such) and of course, I didn't get it until I watched it as a gay grownup.
He is played obviously camp and dramatic, for a start, and there is the aforementioned "hate your hair/not likely/yikes yikes yikes/let me guess you have a great personality" summary dismissal of all his potential brides. Then he spends dinner asking Yzma about Kronk ("so he seems nice? He's what, in his late twenties?") and otherwise being slightly obsessed with him.
Then there is the whole Adventure of Doom with Pacha, him being ever huffy about the Kiss of Life, and then the restaurant gag where Kuzco takes to playing Pacha's fake wife and dressing up in ladies' clothing with great gusto (reinforced by the waitress' "bless you for coming out in public" remark when Pacha says they're on their honeymoon). Then when he is finally de-llamafied, we don't see him paired off with the obligatory girl from the lineup earlier, as might otherwise be expected in a Disney movie. Instead he is still single, but goes to found family it up with Pacha, Chica, Kronk, etc, which dare we remark is a very queer trope.
In short, I have no idea how a Disney movie with no white people (all the characters are Indigenous/people of color), a gay king, cross-dressing jokes, and the most offbeat plot of all time actually ever got made (can you imagine the Family Friendly Mouse doing that today? Let us also talk about Kronk because he is a brilliant deconstruction of both toxic masculinity and the musclebound henchman stereotype.) Other than that this was the Chaos Hour of animated movies in the late 90s/early 2000s, and yes.
So yes. There you have it. I will not be taking criticism at this time.
In response to the question āHow did a movie like this get made at all much less by fucking Disney?ā there was a recent Vulture article that outlines the whole shit show of a history behind this film according to everyone (writers, directors, VAs, Stings) involved. The gist of the story is that they fucked up making a whole, true-to-form Disney musical that never came to see the light of day SO BADLY that Disney switched directors, locked the writerās room, and didnāt review a single script until weeks after the film was in theaters.
Please, read this article if you have some time. This story is wild, and involves directors being pitted against each other Bake-Off style and a shockingly intimate documentary created by the wife of Sting who, himself was heartbroken by the decimation of the songs he wrote for the film including cutting a fantastic Yzma villain song sung by Eartha Kitt that is SO DAMN GOOD but would not ever have fit the more nailed-down Yzma we would eventually come to know and love. Itās so catchy though, Iām doubling up on calls to action but please listen now:
holy shit read the article. itās worth it and completely batshit
This is fucking insane
I've never adequately appreciated the batshit brilliance of this joke, I've taken it for granted
World Heritage Post
This is how it's done in Eastern Europe. Very many years ago I've seen an old lady in my grandparents' village doing it with a very similar tool and beeswax. You need a REALLY good eye-hand coordination...and ability not to mess your design with your own fingers (which I definitely don't possess).
a person from 150 years ago would be terrified by modern stuff . however , a duck from 150 years ago would just be all like ,still got lakes? yes ? okay cool
āHow fleeting are all human passions compared with the massive continuity of ducks.ā

Reblogging again because I thought they changed the quote so I decided to look up the actual quote and itās not fake that is very much the actual quote
Hey do you know alot about internal organs. Cause if so then i have a pretty specific question.
Are... are your organs covered in blood??? Since blood tends to flow thru the blood vessels, and if your body is healthy and all your blood vessels are imtact then your organs shouldn't be covered in blood, right? But just saying that feels wrong.
No, unless you are actively experiencing internal bleeding then your organs are not covered in blood. They are however wet, but it's cerebrospinal fluid and mucus that keeps them that way.
Trust me you do not want them to be in any other condition. If they were covered in blood then there would be no way for your body to effectively circulate that blood, leading you to bleed out. As for them being wet, I personally would not want to experience dry friction on my organs so I am more than okay with that
Also just to clear up any further confusion, cerebrospinal fluid (as the name implies) is contained to just your brain and spinal cord. The rest are protected by mucous
Small correction to my original answer: your organs are not covered in blood unless you are bleeding internally or happen to be a bug
i need everyone to get into college football right now i am dying to talk about the texas tech situation. this is the kind of thing that will be referenced for the next 100 years. there will be documentaries and biopics about this.
no one asked but here
texas tech's quartback, brendan sorsby, was investigated for sports gambling. i know sports betting is all the rage right now, but athletes themselves are not allowed to do it. it is Rule Number 1 and it is the highest priority rule for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), who governs all athletic programs at about 1,100 colleges in the US.
the invesitagetion of sorsby revealed that, not only did he place more than 9,000 sports bets when he himself was a collegiate athlete, but 40 of those bets were AGAINST HIS OWN TEAM when he was playing at indiana university. immediately, this threatens the integrity of the sport, and especially because indiana is the hottest team right now as the defending national champion.
the NCAA, which is largely a sham organization these days (they've truly lost their grasp and college athletics are the wild west now) actually enforced their Number 1 Rule and told sorsby his career is over, that he would never play college football again (and, subsequently, that he would never get drafted into the NFL because his college career was cut short).
well, because the NCAA is a husk of its former self, sorsby and texad tech immediately took this to court. MANY athletes have learned these past few seasons that if you can find a judge who's a fan of your team, you can get any NCAA ruling overturned. that's exactly what texas tech did. they filed a suit in Lubbock, where the university is located and where every judge is an alum of texas tech. so sorsby was granted an injunction and will now only be suspended for the first 2 games od the 2026 season (which are alwayd against no-name teams that will be destroyed regardless of who's suspended).
every other school in the country immediately went on the defensive because this is a very clear integretiy issue. so nebraska and georgia (sic em dawgs) released statements saying that all currently-scheduled competitions witb Texas Tech in ANY sport will be canceled and there will be no future schedulings. at least 3 of the major conferences (SEC, Big 10, Big 12) , who account for almost all division 1 sports teams in the country, are also in discussions about cancelling comtests. Texas Tech is part of the Big 12, and there is serious talk of all other teams in the conference shutting texas tech out.
now would probably be time where i say that texas tech is one of the wealthiest programs in college football becaise there is a single billionaire alumnus pouring money into the program with hopes of essentially buying a championship. so texas techs integrity has always been questionable. anyway, the university president put oit a statement that he doesnt care that sorseby violated regulation and that texas tech will sue any school that refuses to play them because it jeopardizes their championship prospects if they're umable to play any games.
this is all just startomg but its so juicy and delicious. the NCAA is going to crumble to dust if they cannot get this injunction overturned. schools like georgia and nebraska have plenty of money so a suit isnt necessarily a concern, but this will absolutely change college football forever. i cant stop reading about it.
update on this: texas tech is claiming that every school who has/is considering cancelling all contests is "afraid" that texas tech is better than them. what's funny about this is that sorsby's stats are average. he is not good enough for this kind of protection. many schools who have already cancelled or are considering it have much better quarterbacks than sorsby. also, texas tech's head coach had said that it's actually ok that sorsby bet against his own team because it "its not murder or assault."
the attorney general of texas has threatened to investigate the Big 12 conference if they sanction Texas Tech
the claim is now that texas texh university just cares so much about brendan sorsbys mental health that they have to sue everyone who calls this an integrity violation. any other school who wouldnt defend an athlete that committed this violation "doesnt care about mental health"
someone has done the impossible and made me give one-half a shit about football.
like I feel kinda like I'm watching that dude who does vintage 1950s recipes involving jello and canned tuna in the same dish. this has everything.
texas being bad
a college choosing to value football above decency, ethics, credibility, or any other virtue
a mediocre white man getting support he doesn't deserve thrown at him in amounts far beyond strategic wisdom
judicial corruption
sports donor corruption
screaming tantrums at reasonable consequences
utterly unhinged abuse of the legal system in pursuit of avoiding said consequences
multiple college sports systems electing to take their ball and go home, literally
texas being extremely butthurt about same
football drama escaping containment to other sports like a world of warcraft plague
amazingly, spectacularly, offensively wrong assertions made over twitter that redeem themselves slightly by giving you secondhand embarrassment for the people behind them, who deserve nothing of the sort
the spectacular looming consequences of the burgeoning overprecedence of sports gambling in america, approaching chicxulub proportions
the domino meme with one mid-tier college quarterback's bad decisions at one end and the escalation of college football big feelings into world war three on the other
the ncaa, multiple major-division collegiate sports programs, and a solid consensus of moral judgment and legal precedent against the practice of athletes betting on their own games, versus texas football fans, whose reputation of course precedes them
a surprisingly even fight
like the betrayalās always going to be worse if they cared about you and it didnāt matter. someone discards you because they didnāt give a shit, then you can be angry about that, you can feel vindicated in that, you can get over it. but if they can look you in the eyes and say āI love you. I would make the same choice again.ā You will never sleep peacefully again, is all.
āI thought they cared about me, but they were lying this whole time.ā <- tired. boring. removes all the nuance of this relationship to make it easier to move on from.
āI thought they cared about me, and I was right, and every minute they were there for me, every time they said they were proud, every laugh we shared leaning against each other bruised and breathless, all of it was real. and they still left me behind. They could put their love aside. I couldnāt.ā <- insane. will never leave you alone. reminds you that even the worst people are still people and can still care about even the ones they hurt the most and that undoes neither the harm nor the love.
okay. something about the way i worded this is making people think this is a vent thing about real relationships. and itās fine if thatās where it took you. but i feel like i need to be transparent here: this be blorboposting. karlach cliffgate and her terrible awful no good very bad betrayal.
did you receive abstinence only education in school? (and please say where your school is located in the tags)

the commodification of friendship is the most annoying thing to come out of the internet in ages. like actually i love to break this to you but you're supposed to help your friends move even if it's hard work. or stay up with them when they're sad even if you're gonna lose sleep. you're supposed to listen to their fears and sorrows even if it means your own mind takes on a little bit of that weight. that's how you know that you care. they will drive you to the airport and then you will make them soup when they're sick. you're supposed to make small sacrifices for them and they are supposed to do that for you. and there's actually gonna be rough patches for both of you where the balance will be uneven and you will still be friends and it will not be unhealthy and they will not be abusive. life is not meant to be an endless prioritization of our own comfort if it was we would literally never get anywhere ever. jesus.
Here to spread the good news to vintage film nerds: I just watched the first few episodes of Spider Noir and it was so clearly made by people who love classic film noir. Everything from the writing to the cinematography feels like it's a missing story from the 40's. And you don't really need to know anything about superheroes going in! I really hope it gets enjoyed by the vintage film lovers here š„°
have no plans to watch it but i'm happy they nailed the noir tone!
it fucken WIMDY
At some point will I be banned for the crime of becoming a girl. Then wimdy shall be no more.
@voidmenace thank you! I forget to mention it much. I have been a girl for 17 months now, itās the best and most clearly correct decision I have ever made.
I really need a feminised edit of Wimdy Fox but⦠I donāt think foxes have any visible secondary sex characteristics. Hmm.
oh fuck yes
