I’m sorry, but how is it any different from men idolizing ted bundy?

Well, of course anyone who idolises someone like Ted Bundy is a concern. In essence there isn’t any difference between a woman or a man idolising him; either way it is disturbing. But, normally one does not idolise a person that would, if given the chance, specifically try and harm you in a way. And isn’t it natural that woman would resent someone that murdered heaps of people, particularly female ones?

I can’t really think of a good example, but I guess it’s like a Black person idolising the KKK or something, if that makes sense. It’s just quite bizarre.

I am of course, not very keen on the idea of actually IDOLIZING a serial killer; I find that sort of thing to ve really quite interesting, but that is very different… I am not fully comfortable with someone who would admire a murderer.

I understand your chain of thought, a woman would naturally be more intimidated by someone who mainly targets them, empathy and stuff as well as fear…

however, I don’t see his targeting mostly women as something that is against women? well, not against women as a group, more like… just a personal preference, more like the thinking it’s stranger for someone who is polish to like the nazis rather than say… an argentinian or just anyone else.

Oh, yes, I can understand that. But I think FYN meant it in terms of it just being disturbing that a female would idolise someone that would kill them, rather than that Ted Bundy was particularly against anyone. As you said, he would target women because that’s what he liked (plus they were pretty easy for him to kidnap, so that’s an added bonus), I don’t think he went out and said in particular “I hate women so I’m gonna go kill them” (though there certainly are psychopaths who act on that exact motive).

I hope that all makes sense! And of course I can’t speak on FYN’s behalf, but to me it seemed that they were applying that it’s weird for a woman to like someone who kills women rather than liking someone who hates (etc) women.

that makes a lot more sense, I guess I made the assumption that it had something to do with people being infatuated with him, but instead of phrasing it like that, it was just… because, after all, known murderers and cult leaders are either attractive, “cute” or “innocent” looking in a way and socially talented, which leads to people trusting them more, and often they have many people being romantically interested /rants.

yeah, like cult leaders all tend to be very charismatic, otherwise noone would follow them. And people like Ted Bundy used good looks to trick women (combined with weakness, i.e ted bundy pretended to have a broken leg (or arm, i forget which) in order to lure women to his car). So in a sense, I can understand if people find someone like Ted Bundy attractive because that was his biggest tool, but theres a big leap between finding them attractive and idolising them

its different because ted bundy primarily killed (raped, etc) women, so women idolising someone who would kill them is not normal.
