ally looked down at her phone , she had just gotten it . it was the newest and most beautiful thing she had ever owned . she remembered crying when she had saved up enough for it , even now tears brimmed her eyes . she pushed them away , willing them again with a sigh and a deep breath . she had just made a new instagram account for her flower crowns creations . “ hey , ” ally called out . “ do you think this should be the icon ? ” she held out her phone , showing the other a picture of her with a purple crown .
max squinted, looking at the phone that entered her line of vision. "I like it but... I don't think it's the one, you know?."Max explained, sipping her coffee. " But what do I know... I have like 6 followers and I'm quite positive they're all my family members." she said in a joking tone. "if it makes you happy, use it!"

max’s parents moved around a lot, settling into town when she was three. her parents were loving, though very guarded people. one day when she was eight, they just never picked her up from school and when no relatives came to claim her, she went into the system.
she bounced around foster homes for a few years, no home was quite right until she was adopted by the stuart family. it was an adjustment at first, she wasn’t use to having siblings and her time in foster care left her guarded and counting the days until the stuarts would eventually tire of her and send her back. that day never came.
years later max has grown into a level headed yet somewhat chaotic adult. she’s the kind of person that you can tell anything to not because she’s a good listener but she’s too nice and awkward to tell you to stop talking. she can tell you everything about a certain book but if you ask her how’s she doing * cue windows shut down noise*.
max likes her tiny quiet existence, her apartment is 99.9 % books and if she could somehow get away not having a bed to fill the space for more books she would. she’s never really had big dreams or aspirations, as long as she’s close to her family, she’s all set.
though quite sweet and protective of her friends and family, max has the emotional range of a teaspoon. the idea of being emotional available is a completely foreign concept to her, 40% of that is due to her belief that fictional people are easier to deal with and 60% from the idea she still harbors from childhood that everyone will eventually tire of her so what’s the point.
