It's kind of a surreal experience to be watching a movie and then be like "oh shit where that's clip I was way too young to watch came from oh wow"

Like it's different than I remember but the few things I remember perfectly are so exactly the same I know it is the clip it's less fucked up then in my memory though it's still pretty messed up it's always strange to come across one of these things because it's so much less scary and disturbing when you're older so I don't know I kind of mourn the fear but I still have that old memory even if now I have a new one of what it actually is it's kind of surreal I remembered that final part perfectly though

I wake up and stare at the ceiling for a couple seconds. I grab my phone and check the news.

The climate crisis is reaching an all-time high!!!

Several more species of animal have gone extinct.

Donald Trump's Rotting Brain In A Jar has proclaimed himself to be "the new better son of God"

Several world leaders are threatening Nuclear Armageddon!! again.

I give my child breakfast and mentally apologise to them for bringing them into a world that will be uninhabitable for them in the next 5–35 years.

Once they're finished, we go to the living room and watch TV together, occasionally pausing it to scream (mostly affectionately) about what's happening in the show.

When we pause it so my kid can go take a leak and maybe fetch us some non-alcoholic beers from the fridge, I open up my phone again.

I go on Tumblr and check the trending tab. SPN is trending again. I click on the tag and scroll down a bit to see what's going on. Destiel is Canon again! I chuckle a little at the memes.

My kid comes back into the room. I put my phone away and take my Birell. I turn Supernatural back on, and we shriek about the plot. My kid for the first time, I for the... I lost count. Oh well, at least it was a fun day.

[Notes: Birell is a Czech non-alcoholic beer company. Also, this has been in my drafts since the last time Destiel trended (near the end of May) because I didn't post it in time and figured leaving it in my drafts till next time would prove my point. I still love both the show and ship, though.]

I feel like it really shouldn't have taken me the episode where Caine tortures everyone and then dies to realize that he's my precious baby boy and he's never done anything wrong in his entire life

Does anyone else start feeling guilty for no reason? like you don't feel guilty about doing what you're doing right now, you don't feel guilty about anything you've done in the past, you're just randomly hit with this feeling of guilt and you can't do anything about it because it's not guilt about anything you've actually done wrong.

Ok so if you procrastinate doing anything here's a minor tip

you do need to have some amount of time for it and it's nothing revolutionary but I do think it can be helpful

Tell yourself you're going to do something fun, just set aside some time and tell yourself you will do something you find relaxing or mildly intellectually stimulating, it can be reading that book, playing that video game, just doing something you have trouble sitting down and doing, but something you will find enjoyable, and tell yourself you need to do this, you are definitely going to do this, just commit to reading a little bit of that book you want to read and if not that then to draw for a little bit and if not that then another thing you enjoy, tell yourself you need to do it, you have to do the thing!

And then watch yourself as; you clean the windows, sweep the floors, discover a piece of clothing you've been missing for two years in the laundry pile of doom. Because you need to do something and then you procrastinate doing that thing and so you do literally anything else and literally anything else ends up being something minor but productive.

the best part of this hack is if it doesn't work and it's one of those days where you are actually capable of sitting down and doing the thing, then you still wound up doing something productive anyway because you did something you enjoyed and that's good for you.

So yeah just make a commitment to do something else you need to do for yourself, and you will end up doing everything but that, the amount of things that were finally done because someone in my family decided they will definitely go outside earlier today, is impressive, and again if you do manage to do the thing, then you take care of yourself, good job, you did a self-care.

Do you like ever lie because it's the best way to summarize the truth?

like what you said isn't something you would say is completely true but it's the easiest way to express what you're trying to express without like rambling for a solid 5 minutes at least and never actually getting to the point because you somehow managed to so fundamentally fail at expressing yourself so you just leave out a bunch of stuff and simplify and it feels like you're lying because what you're saying isn't something you'd consider the truth so you're lying but if you try to them tell the truth you'll just overcomplicate it and you'll talk for too long and then the other person won't understand and so you lie because it's the only way to make them understand the the meaning you are trying to communicate and I don't know if that it's something a lot of people would classify as lying but I'm lying
