they both prefer being pet on the belly and ive never met cats like that before. theyre silly little dudes.

i haven't had a left thumb nail in like two years but i think it is finally starting to grow out now that i am just constantly soaking it on nail oil. eczema sucks.

we lost satchel and nana over the past year. he died suddenly in late october, i think the 20th. i'm working at a queer focused clinic that is like, i dont know how i did it but i landed my dream job p much. i was able to suddenly leave, took the next day off too. he was starting to lose weight, his kidney disease was really starting to impact him so it was his time. 19 years old. nana was with us till valentines day. since she made it to 2025, we are saying she made it to 20. don't know when their bday was. her kidney disease was also setting in, but really she was just slowing down. really stopped eating but she was excited to get nice stuff. she started laying in pet beds, and on her final day sat in my lap for hours, her final gift to me. putting her down was very hard, my vet cried with us and they sent me flowers the next week. i need to pick up a frame to put them in, i dried them. i have her ashes on my desk and I have a bottle that i intend on mixing their ashes together in, so they can be together again. that stretch was the only time they lived separate from each other. she was there for it and didnt search for him after, she stuck close to us. she was deaf, and started going blind. it was such an honor to keep cats to such an old age and it hurts so much not waking up to having them with us.

we adopted two new cats recently, william and joe. theyre sweet, but still getting to know us. they flop over and demand belly pets, first cats ive ever met who were serious about it. i'll always miss satchel and nana though. and i've deff been in a depression since we lost nana. losing satchel was hard enough but with nana its like, its over. theyre gone. the cats that kept me alive are gone. my partner and i are talking about marriage, ive got a fucking fantastic job and shes looking at options to change into something better but i miss satchel and nana so fucking much they should be here to see things getting better. they earned getting to have all the toys and fancy treats we can buy now. they made it through periods where i had to ration their food while i had none for myself, they earned this 100 times olver and i can't spoil them now.
