honestly smth im surprised i dont see explored more often in rodigor content romantic or platonic is rodya like. subconsciously trying to find meaning in a lot of her suffering in the whole "misery builds character" kind of way. like rationalization of what shes been through as a coping mechanism to build herself up in Some fashion that makes her more distinctive or worthy of something than other people, be it because she's suffered more for it or because it's changed her as a person in a way others havent gone through. and gregor who has spent most of his life in pointless wars or being tormented for no other reason than pursuit of power and capital pointing out no suffering doesnt make us better people or whatever. it just makes us suffer. and the conflict that comes from that
