I just found out that the new episode of Saint-Pierre is called High School Confidential, which is funny because season 3 episode 7 of Republic of Doyle is also called High School Confidential(yes, I have all of the episode names memorised). I know it's based of a '50's crime movie, but still.

Jake is born 1980(he was 12 when his mum died in '92). Mal was born around 1953(around when Emily was born). Rose was born May 12, 1967(said on her file). Tinny was born 93-94. Des was '91-'93. Leslie's age I have no idea, the show gives no proof, though I'd say around '82. The whole timeline for the show is a lot more difficult, though I am working on one.(fact)
A potential ship I kinda like is Walter/Hood. Hear me out. Hood could kinda give a bit comphet, and Walter almost has more bi vibes than Jake does. This ship is entirely based off their limited shown interaction in 6×10(hc/ opinion)

And that's just off the top of my head. Plus that time he ghosted Leslie after Sloan called saying she had gotten herself into trouble. One of my favourites.
I love your head canons for Doyle! I have a lot of the same. Curious, how did your HC of Jake being a cop again after the finale come up? I never thought about that before! Do you have any others?

I have two main reasons why I think Jake is a cop again after the finale.
1. In Leslie's coma dreams at the start of season 6, Jake is a cop(his badge and gun can be seen when they are getting their chips). Allan has said that he likes to portray dream sequences as a kind of way into the mind, meaning this is roughly the future she imagines for her and Jake.
2. In the final scene, Mal is telling Jake about Des moving in with Tinny at the house. Mal says "now I have to double his salary until they can afford a place. If Jake was still working there, why would Mal have to tell Jake that? It would have been a consulted decision. Therefore Jake is no longer a PI, and is now a cop.
I hope this made sense. I do have more hcs, but I'll get to them when I have a little more time.
Maybe hot take: Mal should have properly apologised to Jake about the way he treated him all those years, and had some sort of heart to heart about how Mal struggled after Emily died, and how that impacted him and their relationship.
Mal's struggles were brought up, but with Rose. Mal said it was "none of Jake's damn business," but it largely impacted the remainder of Jake childhood and into his adulthood.
For example when Jake's juvie records were brought up, Jake said "I was the product of an unstable homelife. I had a terrible father." While he said it as a joke, it does ring somewhat true.
It's also the main reason for most of Jake's insecurities about himself.

My favourite season would be 4, bc it's a) the best Jake/Leslie season imo and b) every episode is absolutely amazing.
As for my favourite episode, I have several.
2×02, popeye doyle. It's just a hilarious episode, brilliant song choice, and it has some of the favourite lines.
3×06, the dating game. Fav jake/Leslie episode. Need I say.
4×01, from Dublin with love. More of my favourite lines, plus I love some doyle history.
6×06, the pint. My other favourite jake/Leslie episode.

My Republic of Doyle hcs(post-canon stuff, but i count that as after the hospital scene, not the wedding scene).
Contains spoilers for Republic of Doyle, obviously.
Leslie immediately gets her job back, since it's found out that Pickard was blackmailing internal affairs to have her fired.
Jake becomes a cop again(I have proof for this one). Jake and Leslie are partnered together(everyone jokes it's bc Leslie is the only one who can keep Jake in line), and they have the highest solve rate in the rnc.
Des and Tinny have 2 kids, in their late 20's/ early 30's. I kinda wanna say they only had 1, but they were both lonely only-childs. Their oldest is a boy, who they name Jake(naturally). Jake(the old one) cries when he finds out, though he strongly denies this forever.
Jake also cried holding his babies for the first time(though Leslie and a nurse or two were the only witnesses, which he doesn't mind).
Jake and Leslie's youngest is a boy. Jake forever makes sure he never treats his youngest son like Mal treated him, ensuring he treats all his kids equally. Though this initially causes some issues with Jake and Leslie's parenting dynamic of Leslie always being 'bad cop,' but they work it out. Their children are 'surprisingly' very well behaved anyway.
Jake and Leslie go to 'couples therapy' once Leslie gets out of the hospital. Not really for help with their relationship, but bc neither wanted to go alone bc of past experiences. Though they do work out some things in their relationship(but it turns out that it was issues with themselves(which I can expand on)).
Leslie still has her anxiety disorder, it didn't just magically disappear.
Jake and Leslie have a smaller wedding than Tinny and Des's, only inviting close family and friends. Des assumed himself the role of officiant, but Jake instead asks if him to be his best man. Des almost cries.
Jake was also almost late to his own wedding, got caught up in a case with a client(this would be before he became a cop again).
Idk I could probably come up with more, but whatever.
Des takes tinny's last name when they get married(since Courtney was always fake anyway)
