I think this is like my third time answering something like this but it doesn`t show up in the LuzRoe tag or when you search the tag on my blog. I mean really?! I`m like the only one using the LuzRoe tag, why wouldn`t my stuff be there?! And so much of it is missing! Arhghghgh!! Thank you Tumblr tagging system for continuously surprising me with just how much you can both frustrate and disappoint me.) - Now that that`s out of the way...
Welcome to Disappointment Town friend! If you need evidence for a ship in order to ship it, LuzRoe is definitely not the ship for you! There is nothing. Zero. Nada. ZIlch. I live in a desert. The one scene with an interaction between the two of them was apparently cut;
If you don`t think this haunts me daily, you would be wrong. I would give half my soul for this scene. I am the equivalent of a stray dog begging for scraps and Mr. Hanks is the cruel restaurant owner who put locks on his trash bins. “But C! Why not go somewhere else?! There is plenty of scraps elsewhere! Full meals of Winnix and Baberoe and Webgott!” Alas, I am stubborn and dumb and will not move.
“Ok, so why ship it? Why be so weird about this C?”
Well, let me do my best to try and explain my thought process...
I like to describe LuzRoe as a “softer” version of LuzToye. Of course, in order for that to make sense you need to understand that to me, Roe and Toye are very much alike so bear with me please!
Roe and Toye! First, they both come across as stubborn individuals (did you see the stare down between them in Bastogne over Toye`s feet? Those were the bitch faces of people fully capable of digging in their heels and not relenting). On top of that (and I`m going to copy and paste something from my DMs here), they both dropped out of school early to work, they both come across as more reserved and serious, and everyone sort of knows not to mess with them (I mean look at Toye’s build and Roe's zero hesitation to putting people in their place - they'll both fight you in their own way). But where Toye has the outward appearance of a tough guy, Roe seems to give off more of a gentle, caring appearance - hence the "softer version" bit.
So Roe and Toye are a lot alike yeah? SO if you enjoy LuzToye chances are you might enjoy LuzRoe (honestly, this probably explains why they`re two of my top ships).
As for LuzRoe specifically, I think they balance each other out really well and would be fantastic at drawing out the lesser known bits of each other`s personalities. We`ve seen hints of Roe`s more playful side (someone insert a link to the post by @incognito-princess about playful Roe because I can`t find that right now either. Thanks again Tumblr tags.) and you know Luz would be fantastic at bringing that out of Roe. I mean, I definitely headcanon Roe as a mischievous little shit - he steals stuff and he`s playful - that`s going to match up well with Luz. Roe, on the other hand, would be someone I think Luz would be comfortable indulging his more serious side around. He can talk to Roe about being upset or hurt and Roe will understand and won`t be disappointed or freaked out because he isn`t acting like “normal fun guy Luz” because it`s Roe! It`s Doc! He`s an understanding, caring person. And well, The sides of themselves that they don`t normally show match up with the other one`s more dominant side. And I have a lot of feelings about that. They`ve got more in common than people think.
This is turning into an essay so let me wrap this up because I have to get my ass up to the apartment to work at some point today even if I don`t wanna :(
LuzRoe is my odd little rarepair that I think I invented and approximately two other people seem to enjoy. Everyone else is gracious enough to indulge me and I love them for that. ❤❤❤
