"Hey Web, c'mere. I wanna talk to you for a second." "Why."
JOE LIEBGOTT and DAVID WEBSTER EPS. 8-10: The Last Patrol, Why We Fight, Points | Band of Brothers
Yes, I haven't finished [Harvard]. So the fuck what? - All right, Web, breathe a little, Jesus. Fuck. It's just the way you always talked, you know? We all figured that… Hey, you know what? You're right. So the fuck what?

Mstyslav Chernov, who won an Oscar for 20 Days in Mariupol, said while wearing a black memorial suit:
“I am grateful. But I will probably be the first director on this stage to say: I wish I had never made this film.
I wish I could exchange this for Russia never having attacked Ukraine, never having occupied our cities. I would give up all this recognition for Russia not killing tens of thousands of my fellow Ukrainians. I would give it up for them to release all the hostages — the soldiers who defended our land, and the civilians who are in their prisons”:
Meanwhile, a Russian “no to war” teacher, after receiving an Oscar for a film about how Russia prepares schoolchildren from an early age to go and kill Ukrainians:
Do they not feel sadness about what their work is based on? Doesn’t it make them wish that, instead of receiving all these awards — including an Oscar — it would have been better if what they filmed had never happened at all?
This is the perfect illustration of what is wrong with this whole situation and broadly with the russian so-called "opposition". Russians turn everything for their self-serving puposes. Even the crimes they claim are bad - they are still happy to benefit from.
And the rest of the world is oh so happy to support them in this.

hey everyone. this isn't my usual type of posting, but there's an emergency. my partner's cat has got very ill during the last few days, and today they took her to the clinic where she'll stay overnight due to her severe problems with breathing. just one visit has already costed my partner 400 euros which they absolutely cannot afford in their current financial situation (they are a ukrainian refugee looking for a job), so we'll be infinitely grateful if you donate any amount of money to my ko-fi or paypal ([email protected]) because my girlfriend has neither of those.
reposts are highly appreciated.
today's update
unfortunately nothing has changed much. vets still don't know (or rather don't try hard enough to figure out) what's exactly happening to her and she barely reacted to my partner when they came back to see her in the morning. thankfully, she got better throughout the day, ate some food and even purred, but the issues remain the same. we don't know what to expect because of constant uncertainty and confusion from the doctors, but your support has already helped my girlfriend greatly, thank you all so much.
any help is still very much needed.
hi guys!
i am not really in a state to write anything coherent right now, but i just want to thank everyone who contributed - i am scared to think of what would happen to her otherwise.
at this point i still have no idea what the problem is and whether she will get any better. i will try my best of updating the bills through this page or @kuviraissues one, so that you can see what i am spending the money on. unfortunately, they have not provided me with one today and i have no idea of the estimated cost i would have to face, so any sort of help is really, really appreciated.
her name is susanna (susja for short - i think it means cutiepie in ukrainian, like a term of endearment). contrary to her name, she is quite a character, so it is really hard for me to see her in this weak condition. she has multitudes though; contrary to her usual facial expressions, she is a very, very anxious cat, the thing that worsened when the full-scale invasion started, and she is always scared when she is alone. it really pains me to leave her at the hospital where she can't see me.
i dragged her all the way from my occupied region of ukraine, and, frankly speaking, she is the only thing i have left of my destroyed home. so your support means the world to me - if anyone who donated wants a simple art commission (look at #my art tag), please message me.
sharing some of her photos, because she is hilarious. just a few days ago she randomly learned how to slap me. i am bawling my eyes out having to sleep without her tonight.
hi guys! so sorry that i did not update yesterday; frankly speaking, the first day she was home was even more stressful than when she was at the clinic; i am very happy to have her back, but it also feels like caring for a coughing infant whom you constantly check to see whether it still breathes.
currently she looks stable + on shit ton of all kinds of medication. all thanks to your help!
her breathing is better, she purrs all the time, and she is back to eating like a big glutton she is. she also had a faulty leg for a very long time, even before i found her, which worsened during the time she was immobile, so now i have to carry her around, haha.
the vet's verdict is that it is way too expensive to find out what the cause of the problem was, so she is treated for everything that could have possibly gone wrong. the bad thing is that she potentially has some chronic condition with her lungs because they turned out to be in a really bad shape and have some permanent damage. the plan for now is to see that she gets more stable and to do another x-ray after the check-up. also, for cat owners out there, if i had been experiencing (hopefully not) the same problems with your pet friends, i would be most thankful for any advice you have on the issue.
now to the bill: i think that the vet took pity on me (they were estimating the cost to be MUCH bigger), so the bills and the cost of meds you see were significantly reduced, which i did not anticipate. like, the reason why i got so scared was that at first they suggested euthanasia or another hospital where they would charge me 1000 euros per day, or so they said.
i wrote down everything that i already paid and how much i would have to pay once the rest of the money hits my back account. i would have a bit of it left, and i am going save for the x-ray and another check-up, the bill for which i would share, of course. for now, judging by the previous bill, it will be around 125 euros for x-ray and 56 for consult, so uhhhh i would really appreciate if anyone has any opportunity to help any further.
i want to thank all of you once again. i have whined enough, but i really had a really tough couple of years, so it means the world to me that there is a lot of goodness left in the world that was really cruel to me. without your help, i probably would not have her with me at the moment.
the offer of art commissions for anyone who donated still stands - and here is a photo of susja as well, snug as a bug in a rug at home.
"You know you didn't have to start like a whole fight club just to date me."
I certainly didn’t hear the tumblr human rights activists crying when the islamic republic murdered Iranian children en masse barely a month prior. I wonder what changed their priorities?

And each night I circle back to one question: How many people didn't get to wake up since that day?
“You know... my brother wasn't always such a little monster.”
“Egg is no monster. He's just a boy.”
“I didn't mean Egg. But no doubt we'll make a man of him, too. Perhaps the seeds of madness are sown in the womb, as the maesters say. But Aerion was quite the glad child once.”
