Bay of Islands Blairgowrie
The Bay of Islands at Blairgowrie, located along the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia, is a hidden coastal gem known for its rugged beauty and tranquil charm. This scenic stretch is not as widely known as some of the more popular tourist beaches, which makes it perfect for those seeking a quieter connection with nature.
Characterised by dramatic limestone cliffs, rock pools, and small, secluded coves, the Bay of Islands offers a raw and untamed coastal landscape. During low tide, the reef becomes exposed, revealing fascinating marine life and tidal pools ideal for gentle exploration. The colours of the ocean here can range from deep sapphire to turquoise, especially striking against the pale rocks and windswept vegetation.
Access is usually via walking trails that lead from the nearby residential areas of Blairgowrie or from the coastal tracks along the Mornington Peninsula National Park. It’s a spot frequented by locals, photographers, and nature lovers rather than tourists, adding to its peaceful allure.
Not ideal for swimming due to strong currents and the rocky terrain, it is best appreciated for its scenery, quiet walks, and the occasional sighting of dolphins or seabirds. At sunset, the view across the water becomes particularly magical, the light casting golden hues over the rugged shoreline—a perfect place for reflection and solitude.

Angel Place, a once utilitarian laneway in Sydney’s CBD, has evolved into a distinguished cultural precinct. Originally known as Martin Lane and used for service access in the 19th century, it was revitalised in the early 2000s with the construction of the City Recital Hall. Its transformation was further enhanced by the 2009 installation Forgotten Songs by Michael Thomas Hill—a poignant artwork featuring suspended birdcages and recordings of native bird calls, commemorating species lost to urbanisation. Today, Angel Place blends historical character with artistic expression, offering a quiet, reflective space amidst the city’s bustle.

The Walls of China in Mungo National Park, New South Wales, are a striking natural formation of crescent-shaped sand dunes, known as lunettes, stretching over 33 kilometers along the eastern edge of the ancient Lake Mungo. Formed over more than 120,000 years through the actions of wind and water, these dunes reveal distinct layers of sediment—Gol Gol, Mungo, and Zanci—each bearing witness to different climatic periods and environmental changes . Beyond their geological significance, the Walls of China hold profound cultural importance, as the site of some of Australia's oldest human remains, including Mungo Man and Mungo Lady, providing invaluable insights into early Aboriginal life and rituals . Visitors can explore this remarkable landscape via guided tours led by Aboriginal rangers, offering a deeper understanding of its historical and cultural context . The Walls of China stand as a testament to the enduring connection between Australia's natural history and its Indigenous heritage
