Ugh
"What does that even mean? Unqualified to transmit funds, didn't they pay me when they signed the contract?"
"What a bother."
"It’s true, it’s actually a little surprising they haven’t gotten in trouble before now come to think about it. It’s probably a good thing Faye closed the place up indefinitely."
"Wow, that’s a brave move. Good on you mate. I’m still in the employment of her majesty so I will be seeing you around the castle. Perhaps we can work together to help the people stuck in there."
"Well, not for me, a bit out of a job really. But, I suppose its for everyone's safety, It'll give me more time to haggle with the companies to see about getting paid in advance."
"It would help a lot more with someone as smart as you Lance, better at finding loop-holes in things I'm sure of it."
"Yes me as well, I was quite relieved to hear that Lana is safe. There were quite a few names on that list that have some connection to Fire and Ice."
"Meeting with your father? What for, if you don’t mind me asking."
"W-well, a lot of people come there. I-I'm not surprised, it makes perfect sense when you think about it. Guards aren't allowed into the backroom, I mean, that right there is suspicious enough."
"I..." Roger paused for a moment. "I've decided that I need to join the court." He took a hard gulp. "In spite of whats happened, I-I think that I can do some good for people still in prison if I use my connections."
R-Roger? Wh-Where are you?
Y-Y-You swear?!
"I promise, I'll, I'll never leave you again."

Taking the water from Roger, Faye smiled for the first time since hearing of Tanya’s death. “Oh darling, you know helping you has never been a problem. You’re like family, and I would do anything for my family.” Faye took a sip of the water and felt the cold liquid flow through her body providing relief she hadn’t realized she had needed. “Thanks for the water darling, I hadn’t realized just how in need of it I was.”
"I seem to have fallen into the deep end Roger and as much as I want to stand, I just can’t seem to reach the bottom."
Roger gave a polite nod to Faye as she spoke about him being family and thanking him. "Your welcome" Seemed to be the most he could muster as he sat down across from her. His green eyes darting from the floor up to her as the mood grew darker. "Maybe, maybe we're n-not supposed too."
He paused realizing what he had just said. "A-as morbid as it sounds, maybe this is supposed to be t-t-the point that we decide to s-swim." He gave a weak smile as he looked down again. "I-I can't imagine what th-this has done to you." He shook his head. "N-noone can F-Faye, b-but, we all have to learn to s-swim on our own someday." He looked up at her finally. "R-right?" It sounded more like he was telling himself than her, but this was as comforting as he could be it seemed. He hadn't dealt with any loss before, especially someone he had a thing for.
"Calm, I don’t even know what calm is anymore. I’m numb. All I want to do is go help those who are trapped, but I promised Karie I wouldn’t let anything happen to me. And if I try and help them, I know that is a promise I will be breaking, and I can’t do that to her right now. How are you holding up?"
"Makes sense I suppose, numb is probably best in most cases right now." Roger stopped looking at his piano for a second as he thought about the question. "Holding up is a word I wouldn't really use for this situation, I find my only solace to-to be the fact that Lana is alright." But Tanya..."Never the less, I have to focus on the right now. I still have to show up for a meeting with my father and the other members of court soon."
"Can't unravel now."

With Roger’s help, Faye made it inside and onto the couch. Letting her head fall back to rest on the cushion behind her, Faye turned to watch Roger as he walked into the kitchen. “Water is probably a good idea. Oh and Roger, thank you so much for this. I know that I’m a mess.”
Filling a glass with water he heard her thank him. He looked down and knew he was a wreck himself, but, he couldn't show it in front of her, not now. Forcing himself to smile a bit as he turned and looked at Faye, "No, no thanks needed F-Faye. You have helped me out of so many jams, the least I can do is offer you a place to stay for a little. And-and some water of course."
"It’s lovely mate, everyone is going to love it. Sorry, I didn’t mean to sneak up on you. Oh I don’t mind at all, hope you don’t mind if I join you."
"N-no you're fine, I-I shouldn't have left the door open if I didn't want company." Roger said as he turned back to the piano playing the soft haunting melody. "Of course not, I-I'd be insulted if you didn't."
"You seem rather calm despite w-what's happened."

Faye smiled up are her friend, despite how terrible she felt, it was nice to see that Roger was safe and out of harms way. Placing her head on his shoulder, Faye sighed. “Well, I was at the club all night drinking and ended up here. A good friend thought this would be the best place to bring me since I didn’t want to go home or go back to the club. I hope that’s alright, sorry I’m still pretty drunk. If you want me to go I can.”
"N-n-no of course not Faye p-please come in!" Roger said making sure to lend a shoulder to help support her movements as she rested her head on his shoulder. He knew that Tanya had meant more to Faye than almost anyone else, and that this loss must have been devastating to say the least. "H-how about we get you a little water while we're at it, ok Faye?" He said as he helped her to the couch smiling a bit as he walked to the kitchen mumbling. "Like I-I could ever turn you away."
R-Roger? Wh-Where are you?
D-Don’t scare me like that, Roger!
"I'm so happy they didn't take you Lana, I-I'm so happy you're alright."
"I'm sorry, I promise I won't disappear again."

Faye groaned as she was thrown over Garrett’s shoulder, she had no idea where he was taking her but she didn’t care. She didn’t have the energy to fight him, she didn’t have the energy to fight anyone. They walked for a few blocks in silence, at this point Faye was so turned around she didn’t even know what part of town they were in. Before she knew it, she was being sat down on stairs outside of an unknown apartment. She watched as he rang the doorbell and backed away. Smiling at the man as he walked away, Faye mouthed a thank you and looked up at the door behind her which was beginning to open. Faye didn’t know why Garrett was being so kind, but she knew she would have to thank him for his help when she was strong enough. Looking back at the now open door, Faye smiled at the man who emerged. “Oh, it’s you. I didn’t realize you lived here.”
Roger had sat at the Piano for hours now, he couldn't think, he couldn't register reality in those moments as he played the same two notes consecutively. Hearing the door bell seemed to awaken him from the sadness as he dipped from his stupor and looked at the door. He had remembered the night that Tanya had come to his house and danced while he played, a simple kiss, he didn't want to answer it but he knew that he couldn't hide from the world forever. Getting up as he strode along the floor he opened the door slowly looking down to see Faye seated upon the steps in front of his apartment. "W-what are you doing here Faye a-are you alright?" He moved forward ducking down next to her. "H-how did you get here?"
Working on anything good mate?
"Just a song to play for the memorial services."
"Sorry, I didn't hear you come in. I hope you don't mind the smoke."
R-Roger? Wh-Where are you?
Everything is falling apart… I can’t lose you too..
"Lana! I've been looking everywhere for you I-I thought they had taken you too."
...
"T-Tanya can't be dead."
"And Mere? B-but, n-n-n-no no no no n-no."
"Hey,"
"You should be careful, I heard some k-kids are egging people o-out there."

I can see where that might be difficult.
"E-especially with music."
