Shadow of Oakhurst
"The Beast Formerly Known As Avid"
when i said i was gonna do some bloodborne type shit to him i MEANT IT :) an extremely fun excuse to play with some more low poly style character modelling and various rendering tools, plus some animation de-rusting/practice.
Apo and Pyro playing around in the veinbound dungeon
took me 2 days not counting the previous try that corrupted

So... while I love the vampire Legundo we got in the finale (my man's enhanced personality trait was his desire to help) and I enjoyed Bloodletting's "will they break through to each other?"... I'm itching for an au where Owen broke his trust from the beginning. Where, during the Trust Exercise after Legundo confirmed Owen was turned consentually and showed he trusted the vampire in front of him, Owen turns him anyway. Maybe we get evil vampire Legundo (like cc!Legs was talking about in his stream), maybe we get a Legundo who confides in Cleo much earlier (and maybe learns to want to keep living), maybe we just get a more drawn out version of what happened in the finale (hopefully with Legs getting to kill Owen bc my man was robbed lol). I just think this au could go in a few different ways and I wanna see all the ways it could play out.
Idk man, I'm just a drawer not a writer.
Honestly, him being turned at either of the other meetings with Owen would be so juicy.
If he gets turned in episode 4, he's alone with Owen, fresh out of a dissociative flashback episode, and everyone had seen him alive and "well" no more than 30 min before, which lends well to feral Doc going on a rampage through the woods, or one of the other castle vamps finding him.
On the other hand, he had already talked to Cleo about them being a vampire (if I have my timing right) and Cleo and Apo tended to be pretty quick to react to new blood, so maybe they would've been able to find him during his pre-feral breakdown and talk him down.
If he gets turned episode 6, it would mean the garlic failed. Either he used it too early (my favorite option as it running out while he's trying to defend himself is fun to think about) or he used it too late and it hadn't taken effect yet. The entire scene could play out exactly the same, aside from the garlic and him turning instead of dying. He'd have Abolish there for him to keep him from absolutely freaking out, although he'd know that he came with three people as backup so... that may cause a bit of drama (still can't believe Pearl and Martyn just left lol), and he'd have built more trust with Cleo by that point.
On the other hand... he finds out about the stolen holy water pretty much immediately after this scene. We know what that did to his psyche, but imagine adding freshly turned vampire feelings on top of that.
I'm just saying...
Guys... v!Pyro makes me so sad. Bro just couldn't catch a break. Everyone believes that he killed Cszlaw (including a lot of people in the audience). Then everyone believes that he's the most monstrous of the vampires (even tho Scott and Owen are right there).
Personally, I think that if Pyro was at all involved in Cszlaw's death, outside of being tormented by the guy minutes before, it was accidental. Maybe Pyro finally fought back and punched/pushed the dude and he slipped, cracking his head on a rock and falling into the river. Maybe they had a tug-of-war over Pyro's notes and the dude's hold slipped, knocking him off balance. Maybe the dude slipped on the rocks while taunting Pyro and fell in, and Pyro just didn't try to save him.
Im positive the only reason Pyro was blamed for Cszlaw's death was either his notes were found floating near the body or Cszlaw came with friends (bc bullies travel in packs) who put the blame on Pyro.
Thing I might write one day:
If you revive Owen and Doc--
I think Owen might genuinely try to get better. The one person he would follow into hell (because he thinks he did) just confirmed what everyone else has been saying all this time. So if, suddenly, you let him out of his lonely tormented dark he would make a change--
...after curling into a miserable little ball and wailing for a while.
I also think if you revive Doc he fucking. tries shredding the shit out of Owen. Better be glad they are both still some flavor of undead because otherwise this second chance would be over Real Quick.
(I love love the bloodletting softness but Owen RUINED his SOUL. The kind of vampire you are is determined by your experience right before and after turning. Owen made him PANIC. made him spiral and feel monstrous and trapped. and LOCKED him there. On. Purpose. He took the last person who really tried to help him and ripped up his soul. Owen needs to take a hard look at that fact, I think.)
So basically if you revive these guys you get an inversion of their previous motivations. Legs trying to do as much damage as possible and Owen trying to make something better of himself.
Now, how does this revival happen? In canon Cleo does say that the curse is real. What if it calls in a bunch of humans and revives all the vampires in the area every 200 years? That would explain why Scott was put to sleep instead of staked too, maybe those humans knew that would keep him down longer.
this is 100% bloodletting and im now indescribably sad
love the ideas of v!owen and v!pyro suffering with eachother in eternal darkness (when shelby finally frees pyros soul and makes him a grave) but I'd like to also present to you guys:
Louis and Legs meeting eachother in [whatever this universes "heaven" is]. Would Louis recognise Legs? Would he introduce himself? Talk about Owen? Do you think they would be friends? Would Louis maybe help Legs realise he deserves the eternal light and not suffering?
"it's not a hyperfixation" I mutter as I keep drawing. "it's not a hyperfixation" I mumble as I binge approx 40 hrs of content. "I can't be hyperfixating on block game streamers in the year 2025" I plead to the old gods. I click on another minecraft smp

Vampire Legs makes me feel insane. Your WORST SELF and what do you say to your allies?
"which sire do you serve” “no sire”
“...I will find him. I will kill him. and I will help the rest of you. Live.”
What does he say to his enemies?
“...I am asking if I can help you.”
he's like in near feral anguish as he describes how he's going to help people. Come ON that's cool.
and like when told he had the opportunity to save everyone and sacrifice himself his First Response was thinking it was too good to be true: “...how do I know this isn't some other trick?...”
He Makes Me Feel Insane. Your worst self is something tormented and desperate to help. Man. Gosh. Fucking imagine. What a guy.
i. have never drawn so much so quickly in my life. and this doesn't even scratch the surface of everything i wanted to draw.
Vampires SMP Finale Spoilers
So, its been established that when someone becomes a vampire, their truest self comes to the surface. If they were hateful before, they'll be moreso later, and we saw this with Owen and Avid.
Owen was convinced that Legs was an irredeemable monster, and well, the Doc thought the same of himself. Thus, by turning Legs into a vampire, Owen believed he was unleashing something evil upon the world.
And yet... he was wrong. They were both wrong. The trait that followed Legs into vampirism was his desire to save lives. Thus, when he was approached by Cleo and Scott with their plan for everyone to leave Oakhurst alive, his head cleared through the bloodlust to focus on what was more important- protect the town, save all you can. As much as he wanted to kill Scott, this plan to save everyone was more important than revenge (in which Owen could never).
In the end, they were both proven wrong. Legs did not become a monster, because he never truly was one at all. Monsters don't agonize over their sins and seek redemption.
Owen's death was an act of selfishness and refusal to redeem himself. Legs' death was an act of selflessness and his final action towards redemption.
Whereas Owen died a monster- Legs did not. He was truly good till the end.
Alrighty! Posting my episode 8 wishes before we all get emotionally wrecked tomorrow (especially since I'll have to stare longingly at the videos for a few hours because they release around the same time I have to be at work).
1. I hope Shelby is the one to kill Pyro. He killed her fledgling, so he deserves to be killed by his own.
2. I need Legundo to be turned by Owen and possibly Legs killing Owen in response (not entirely sure on that part but Owen ain't surviving)
3. Apo deserves to be the one to kill Scott. Realistically, it's probably gonna be Abolish but Apo deserves it.
4. Either Martyn and Ren needs to kill Sausage or Sausage needs to kill Martyn and Ren
5. If Legs doesn't kill Owen, I want it to be Scott or Drift. Mostly for the parallels of him getting murdered for killing someone important to them "just because he didn't like the guy."
6. I just want Owen to realize all his fuck-ups while he's getting torn apart by someone. Is that too much to ask?
7. I want Shelby, Drift, Cleo, Pearl, and Apo to survive. I'd be happy if Legs survives too, but I'd also be okay if he died as long as it's a good death
8. Honestly, I want a vampire win but Coven loss. Like, the only Coven members I want to survive are Shelby and Drift, but I love the idea of most of the townsfolk being turned and becoming able to leave by desecrating the beacons.
... I got 3 of 8 right... but at what cost?
God that was such a devastating finale for the Doctor. That literally had me in tears by the end.
I do wish that the Doc had gotten to kill Owen, but him ending up alone in hell was really funny to me.
Also, what was up with Abolish's ending? How the hell is he still alive? I really wanna see a little short of him meeting up with the Coven tho.
Homecoming.
"We KNOW how to leave." is just. such a line. im still thinking about it.
like for one, it perfectly dismisses avid pleading for his life. immediately shuts him down because No That Won't Work. even if there was nothing else behind it, badass line already.
but the way to leave, strictly, is to turn all of the beacons to neutral. either that, or turn them all one way, they all leave, then turn them the other way.
if legs knew that at the start, he would have 100% been campaigning for a peaceful end the whole time. peace is possible. but that's clearly not what he means if he's saying this as he kills a vampire, possibly permanently (apo's stake was soo close).
they all know that if they tried for peace, someone on their or the other side would ruin it. too many people want to prevent their enemies' escape.
everyone's decided the win condition has to be kill them all.
he hated avid because avid only ever cared about his own side, and legs cared about saving everyone. and he's killing avid with that hate, but in killing him he's becoming just like him.
he switched from lose the arm, save the body (in a convo about killing scott) to lose the leg, save the life because he's the leg. he's losing himself. i don't think he means he's trying to sacrifice himself for the town - he wants a heroic death, he wants to die (but needs to earn it).
he's not giving up his life, he's giving up his humanity. to become the soldier the remaining humans need to get out of here. which is much more terrifying.
