doc is reeling over the sheer advanced science of it all and having to rapidly digest so so so so much information and the concept of being on an alien planet and getting reprinted and NoA's entire deal. hes got metal poisoning he's got maisefield he's having to mutate himself with angel combs he gets his eye back from a reprint and feels like hes weirdly lost a piece of himself from that
then owen shows up and doc is having to teach this 17th century peasant boy who still believes in the four humors about alien biochemistry that he barely comprehends himself and doc is the only source of blood on the entire planet. owen, with vampire immunity, doesnt have to deal with the virus or reprinting or adaptations BUT the water is diluted with so much metal INCLUDING SILVER so hes constantly getting burns in a way so similar to his leprosy when he was human.
owen cant kill doc cause he needs him for food AND noa keeps reprinting him, but is getting an insane buildup of toxic metals from it, doc cant kill owen because wood doesnt exist here and its the middle of the ocean how r u gonna build a pyre huh??? plus owen is a very valuable data point and control group for tests, even with the vampire/human differences.
then noa resets doc for maisefield and the dynamic swaps where owen has to try and relay all that info back to him. And of course they both hate NoA and dont understand the concept of a digital program AI thing especially with how weird NoA as an AI program is in the first place. he's the weird all knowing ghost in the glowing ball to them. u build a new ball and HES STILL THERE.

Also as of June 7 2026, creators from the Minecraft server Skyblock Kingdoms (sbk) have come forward about “irrevocable damage [Avidmc and Marma1ade] have caused to SBK and its friends” (quote from Sbk statement on twitter) and have removed them from the server.

We've become aware of the situation regarding Avid (and Marmalade), and have decided to stop working on this story for various reasons. We will still post what has already been made (entirety of Act 1), and will put the planned outline and other bits and pieces in a bonus chapter, but we will not be creating further fan content about AvidMC as to not platform or promote him further. If this decision and news confuses you, we implore that you do your own research but be aware that it covers some heavy (and still developing) drama.
