A bob for Bob-Bob. I experimented with a few different feminine hairstyles for Robert and then I was like duh - of course! A bob. I wanted this to look like a poloroid picture. Maybe Flambae took it?

OMG I FINALLY FINISHED IT 😱 😱 😱! I have been working so hard on this and trying my best to not inundate you guys with progress shots because I am SO PROUD of every bit of it! I did this with a colored pencil brush and basically tried my best to color it like it was physical media.

This is Flambae as Hades trying to pull Robert as Persephone back into the Underworld.

Ok I know I said I wouldn’t make you guys look at this again until it is done but I’m so happy about how it is coming out I want to post something. I don’t have anyone in real life to share my art with and I’m just so pumped. So here is a super zoomed in screenshot of the hands! I love them so much! I’m basically done with Robert and have started working on Flambae

Ok. I wrote a couple paragraphs from Shroud’s point of view right after he captures Robert. He is getting ready to have the red ring implants put into Robert. This will explain a bit WHY Shroud captured Robert.

Elliot Connors didn’t believe in luck. He believed in plans and preparation. Right now he was looking down at the culmination of nearly a year of plans that had fallen perfectly into place. Robert Robertson III was lying on a table in front of him. He was unconsious but breathing and only a bit worse for wear. Robert looked much like Elliot expected he would after 15 years of chasing his father’s legacy and a several months long coma. His scrawny body was littered in burns and old scars painted over by cuts and bruises in various stages of healing.

As much as Elliot had wanted to take Robert after the explosion that destroyed the Mech he ran the scenarious and realized it would be better to wait. Let the man have to live a life without the suit or the title for a while. Let him start to get settled into how empty his life would be without being able to pursue the legacy anymore.

Elliot remembered the little boy that used to come into his workshop begging to help. Just wanting a few scraps of attention from anyone he could get it from. The last conversation Elliot had with the boy Robert had told Elliot he didn’t want to be like his dad when he grew up. Unfortunately from what Invisigal and Toxic had told him about their interactions with Robert he had ended up following closer in Robbie’s footsteps than he probably would have liked. Both men had pushed everyone and everything in thier lives away in order to preserve the legacy of Mecha Man. The machine had always come first for Robbie and where had it gotten him? A bullet in the head.

Elliot had a very long time in prison to come to the decision that he didn’t want the same fate for his best friend’s only son. He couldn’t go back in time and change what happened between himself and Robert’s father but he could make sure to give Robert a different life. A life where he could finally relax his nearly broken body. A life where he could stop worrying about his father’s impossibly heavy mantle. It’s the least Elliot could do.

He ran the calculations in his head again. Waiting and gaining more information had brought the chances of his plan working up to 87%. Definitely worth taking the risk when the alternative was having the man in front of him as an adversary or dead. If this worked out the outcome would be more enjoyable for all parties involved anyway.

He had developed a special set of implants for Robert and was actually having to take some deep breaths to calm himself down while he waited on the surgeon and the healer to arrive. He wanted to be able to control Robert’s body as well as monitor his vitals and internal functions. He hoped he would be able to change Robert’s life.

Ok I got super carried away. This is a very refined sketch. Much more than I do for most of the stuff I draw but I think this is kinda complicated and I had some stuff to work out so it was warranted. I won’t make you look at this again until it is colored but I’m kinda excited about it idk.

So here is the sketch refined a little bit more. I’m not sure if I love the composition yet so I’m gonna work on it a little more. I just have this image in my mind of the finished work and I know I’m not skilled enough to really do that but I am trying to get as close to what is in mind as possible.

I have so many other things I need to be doing but all I seem to want to do is sit around and draw. Just using the blorbos to be super avoidant right now….sigh.

Anyway, I’ll have at least one of the NSFW sketches for my mechashroud implant AU this month up on my patreon in the next day or two. I think I will do a poll so you guys can vote on which one y’all want me to fully render.

Thought it might be fun to post this. This is the kinda stuff you guys don’t normally see. A lot of time this step happens in my “sketchbook” - a separate file I usually start with and just rats around until I get a few things I like. That’s why it looks like I know what I want to draw right from the beginning of my videos. It’s because I basically do. Somewhere else -usually on another file I have a bunch of ratsy little scribbles like this. When I like one I take the idea and draw it again from scratch on a new file. Occasionally if it is complicated I import it and start with the scribble as the base. That way you guys don’t have to watch me erase a million sketches before I hit on something I actually like and want to push farther.

Colored Office Love Robert with the new colored pencil style I am trying out. I love it so much. I am definitely going to do my MechaShroud patreon piece in this style. I already have an idea for it and just need to start but I wanted to do another practice color before I really committed. I love how pretty he ended up! Looks like he is just waiting on Flambae in a conference room to surprise him lol. 😊

Robert from my Flambert Myth of Persephone AU. I tried something completely different with the rendering and used a colored pencil brush I found. I basically did the whole of the coloring with the same brush at a small size and built up strokes. Before I got a tablet I did a lot of colored pencil art so this was very soothing to do something new but somewhat familiar. I like the texture it has at the end. I’ll definitely do this again.

I’ve been struggling some lately with my mental health mostly due to not having medication at the moment but sitting down for hours and hyper focusing on making all these tiny strokes has been helping with my anxiety a lot. It takes a lot longer to do these than the more simple lines and colors I was doing last month to push out a bit of content for my patreon but right now the process of doing this is more rewarding to my soul so things might slow down for a minute while I work on some more stuff like this.

The Timelapse is under the cut and I am going to see if I can put a not sped up version on my Patreon if I can figure out how to do that. I haven’t attempted a video yet…..
