Anna walked through the dark hallways of Haven. No shoes on her feet, no jacket over her bare arms. Her hair pulled back into a ponytail, tired eyes clearly visible.
She had woken from a dream, a dream about a man she knew. She recognised his face, his smile. She knew who he was... But what played out had seemed so familiar, she had needed to know.
So she made the trip to Storm's house, both unaware but also unconcerned about the time. She needed to know now.
Anna banged her fist several times, loudly, against the door. "Storm?" she called, waiting impatiently before knocking again.

If she had thought her days of being awoken by a panicked knock at the door were over now that the school was gone, Ororo was sorely mistaken. She pulled a silk robe over her night gown, glad that Logan had decided to spend the night with his girls and that Chuck was having a sleepover with a classmate, so at least the calling at her door was only waking her.
She opened the door and tried to make herself alert, but didn’t have to try so much when she saw the state of Anna Marie LeBeau, “Come in, Rogue,” she said, “Is there danger? What’s happened?”
Anna missed practically all that storm had said as she looked up at the taller woman desperately.
Standing on the doorstep in her shorts and t-shirt, barefooted and wide eyed. "Ah had a dream. Only ah don't think it was a dream... Ah think it was a memory..." she held her arms wrapped around herself, shivering. "Oh God, Storm... What'd ah do?.." Anna's voice cracked slightly as she fought against overwhelming emotions.

Anna returned the hug, burying her face in Storm’s shoulder. It felt familiar and comforting despite the fact she could feel Daken’s hatred bubbling under her skin.
“He best not come back” she said firmly. “If ah see him again, ah’m afraid ah’ll kill him” And it wouldn’t be totally her fault. Daken had killed before, had enjoyed it… It would be karma if it was his own feelings that allowed Anna to take his life.
Ororo nodded and held Rogue tighter. Now wasn’t the time to counsel peace, Rogue had been through too much. Instead, she held her for a time before she said, “Come, let’s go back inside. There’s nothing worth hanging about out here for.” Rogue needed a hot drink and a rest.
Anna looked up at the much taller woman as her grip slackened. The urge to reach out and borrow some of Storm to drown out the Daken in her mind. To use her strength, her calm... It was almost overwhelming.
“Ah should go” she said, stepping back, putting herself out of reach. Rogue rubbed her forehead, wishing there was a way to rinse all of Daken out of her mind. She had none of herself to dilute his vile thoughts, the temptation to use others to do it was too great. Being alone wouldn’t help with her thoughts much, but it would remove the risk...
You said it, Apocalypse.
Excalibur #6 by Tini Howard and Marcus To

Laura gave a silent nod of her head, her tongue feeling like lead. She swallowed and forced it to move, an action that took just a little too much effort.
“She told me everything.” She was sorry and angry, and terribly sad. “I’m so glad you’re okay.” Some part of her understood that it wasn’t her place to make up for this, nobody could apologise for Daken except Daken. But she felt responsible for not telling Daken to go.
Rogue wondered briefly if Laura was angry with her for dumping her brother in the lake, but it quickly became apparent that was not how the other woman was feeling...
“You know this had nothin’ to do with yah brother, right?” she offered, attempting to lift her arm to emphasise she was referring to her injuries when she quickly realised she should never attempt that again...
“Invulnerability ain’t all that fun when it stops workin’...”
