What a splendid day to celebrate mothers all over. From flower crowns to tasty ice pops, the one's who mean the most to us were certainly treated like the royalty they are.

Denim on denim on denim..

Here in Canada we have an unofficial uniform and it's known as the 'Canadian Tuxedo'. What per say is the 'Canadian Tuxedo' you may ask? We're talking about denim on denim on denim. There's a very fine line between pulling this bad boy off and looking like Justin and Britney circa their 2001 American Music Awards appearance (we highly suggest avoiding that one at all costs).

Earth Day Commitments

Yesterday was Earth Day and it got a lot of us in the office thinking about what we could do to help treat our Earth a little better. 

We came up with some personal commitments based off of our bad habits. They may be small and simple changes, but by making these changes we can play a role in environmental protection the whole year round. 

Heather: "I will drink filtered water instead of buying water bottles."

Jessie: "I will turn off all the lights in my apartment whenever I am leaving."

Lolin: "I will boil the exact amount of water needed when I make tea." 

Laura: "I will walk to work, use the toaster oven while cooking and pack reusable containers for my lunches." 

Sara: "I will take the TTC to work instead of driving everyday." 

Nicole: "Since the meat industry generates nearly one-fifth of the man-made greenhouse gas emissions worldwide, I will limit my meat consumption and go vegetarian for a day."

Lauren: "I will pack my lunches in reusable containers instead of ziploc bags." 

Carrie: "I will turn all my electronics off by unplugging them or turning the power bar off if they're not in use." 

Denisa: "I will lower the heating in my house (it's always on high!) in order to conserve energy."

Marybeth: "I will unplug all appliances, computers and power cords around the house when they're not in use."

Jenna: "I will pack my lunch using a reusable lunch bag instead of plastic bags."

Alyssa: "I will turn the water off while brushing my teeth as well as reduce my shower time from 20 minutes to 10 minutes."

Sam: "I will receive and pay bills online, use Next Issue for magazine subscriptions, and get my coffee to go in a tumbler" 

Delphine: "I'm currently reading 'Zero Waste Home' by Bea Johnson"

​​This past Sunday's MTV Movie Awards brought out all the top celebs, but there was one in particular that caught our eye! We're not sure if it was the jaw-dropping dress, statement lip, sultry eyes or romantic waves but Rita Ora was sending out all sorts of good vibes. For that, here at ROI, we've officially crowned her with Best Overall Look of the night.

WMCFW Diary

World MasterCard Fashion Week is already over, but we are still reminiscing on some of the backstage moments through our photo diary. It feels surreal to have been behind the scenes in the world of makeup artists, hair stylists and manicurists. Watching Grace Lee, Lead Makeup Artist for Maybelline New York Canada, work her magic is always a treat – one that you wouldn’t want to miss. We can’t wait to try these hot looks using a few tips and tricks that we picked up from her makeup demos. 

How about those bronze, sexy smoky eyes from the Target show, inspired by supermodel and Maybelline New York spokesmodel Erin Wasson? It will be a trend to watch for on the streets of Toronto, because the look couldn’t be easier to DIY! Grace simply smudged Maybelline New York EyeStudio Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Gel Shadow in Bad to the Bronze across the entire eyelid and finished the look with a classic, flesh-toned lip colour.

Julie Bowen - Modern Family actress Julie Bowen complemented her blush pink Zac Posen gown with a soft smokey eye - classic red carpet glam!

Rose Byrne - Actress Rose Byrne wore a sexy body-hugging pink pastel Calvin Klein. Her dusty rose lips, sultry eyes, and loose face-framing curls completed this beautiful look.
