Hey guys! This is a Destiny inspired comic I worked on for class. It's still a work in progress because we moved on before I finished inking. We had to convey a story without using words so hopefully there isn't too much confusion. At least I don't have to transcribe it :)

Life Update

Okay so my tumblr has dramatically slowed down over the past week or so. And it’s because I’ve gotten into a rhythm with school and it has become less of a priority to update. However that doesn’t mean I have forgotten to archive all my completed drawings. No no no it just means that updates will be over the weekend and will cover everything completed during the week.

We had to create implied textures on a value scale. Mine ended up being a little out of order but s’all good. Idk texture isn’t super interesting to me but practice is practice. These were probably the best set of the three sets I did.

For this assignment we had to draw 50-ish things. That’s about it. They could be quick and dirty, just as long as they got the representation across. We later had to combine objects into bizarre Frankenstein’s monster-esque drawings. It was actually pretty zen to do and I ended up losing track and doing way more than 50.

This seems to happen every time I take notes in my sketchbook. I end up drawing a nonsensical vehicle and working on my new language. Haha so that language I was working on earlier got a few definitions. Well, if you believe language evolved from pictorial representations of things. Which I think makes sense but I dunno, I wasn’t there when it happened so...

In order to keep up with my “Don’t break the chain” vow and university I often times am doing doodles, or referring to /r/icandrawthat for quick inspiration. I started with a lightbulb based tattoo design but I wasn’t feeling it so I decided to create my own language. Well not really, just symbols that look cool. Putting them together in a line was interesting, especially trying to do it with speed.

One of my class assignments was to pick an object a draw it a bunch of ways with an emphasis on simplification and breaking it down on a geometric level. I chose my arm because its always on me for reference and I was looking for a more organic shape to work with. I ended up doing about 12 drawings so these are only half-ish. towards #12 I was just implying an arm with like nine dots. If nothing else this was good practice for drawing hands in general.

This is a commissioned tattoo design. The patron wanted a daisy with lime green petals. I put it on layered tracing paper with the line drawing, black ink, and color on separate sheets. That way any tattoo artist worth his or her salt should be able to follow this design, or I’ll refund the patron :P

Page 4 of that autobiographical comic I do sometimes. The assignment required us to deliver a narrative without words which is why there is no text. I may redo this work to help clarify what’s going on. In case I don’t, it’s basically about how I’ve arrived at university and everyone is already in a relationship. And the two single girls I’ve met so far I have tested the water with and one wasn’t clicking and I haven’t run into the other girl in a while.

A self portrait in grayscale. It actually looks pretty solid haha at least compared to the last one. I think it’s because I had to do it for class... and because I used a grid. The hair is a little off because I lied but that was for the benefit of my grade, okay? I can’t help it if the way she wanted me to paint didn’t work for me. Anyway, I always enjoy a good self portrait so this project definitely could’ve been worse. Hope you like my handsome face ;)

A peacock I did for a friend of a friend. a little rough but then again it wasn't commissioned so. It was good practice with using pens of various widths and changing up the line weight within a piece to make it more interesting.

Some other doodlz I found in my old sketchbook. I really like how the girl turned out. I think the reptilian thing is kinda interesting too. The random Turian head I started came out of nowhere I remember that much.
