Ghana Medical Help

This was a dope experience. basically, over the winter, on top a secret project. i was helping organize a double charity event for a Non Profit called Ghana Medical Help

My main roles were finding talent and venues to hold the events. and boy did I find them!!!

On April 29th, my event planning dream came true. i was able to book The Kount , an amazing Toronto musician and producer boasting almost 20k followers, who just so happens to be my favorite Toronto producer :)!!!!! It was awesome to finally meet and actually help promote an artist that I genuinely enjoyed to listen to!! This event was more to spread awareness of the charity and its efforts to the hip young university audience

For the May 10th event, thanks to my dope networking skills from my passed experience I got the good people at Revival Bar to hook us up with the venue for free!!!  for this event, we really wanted to reach out to the Ghanian community in toronto which is why I secured some really famous Ghanian artists like MC AFRO, Ghana’s number 1 female DJ; DJ Donet and super talented orchestra called Afrafranto

SO After all this hustling in Nam, i managed to make a dope portfolio, and after settling in Toronto , i was able to find land a really dope gig at the TIMAs!! My main role was helping with execution, basically made sure artists were on schedule, guests needs were met, played host :)

Toronto Independent Music Awards (“TIMAs”) is a homegrown annual song competition with an entrepreneurial spirit. It was created in 2004 to support independent Canadian musicians across the Province of Ontario. The TIMAs acknowledge and celebrate songs in a variety of genres without regard to recording quality, industry affiliation or sales history. The TIMAs are supported by Canadian and international music industry professionals, accomplished recording artists, broadcasters, and most of all – music fans and aficionados.

Now in its 12th season, the TIMAs have given away over $350,000 in custom prize packages. The TIMAs have been the platform for independent musicians to network, attain tools for success and be discovered for OVER A DECADE

dirtiest beat boxer, makes dub step with his mouth, cant believe i got to work with a  legend. saw him at Quest for the first time, so talented, i thought he was completely unreachable. He had the biggest crowd in the middle of the day around a non main stage. He was our MC for that day. his genius ability inspired me into my next career steps in music. his involvement in communications was essential in planning our event

Designer: Anna Bandi

My partner ;) in event planning. My right hand. Super talented designer, incredible patience, hard working, extraordinary attention to detail. she helped manifest something material out of my knowledge of hip-hop. Her highly trained eye designed our whole brand image. from set design, posters (including fb), to tickets, to cards, to prize certificates to the gigantic dance pad. she also offered valuable event execution advice

Bboy: Rollyn

this kid is old school hip hop avatar. unreal energy. great spirit. Our connection to the Break dancing community, not only did he perform in it, he heavily influenced the Art Direction in the teaser, his set location suggestions were top notch, and his involvement in communications was essential

DJ: Duy Tuan 

on the tables. This dude is a nightlife legend in Hanoi, always booked for the craziest parties. He was able to take time out of his day to come play an old school hip-hop set, just for us

Rapper: Krazi Noyze

born in Hanoi, lived in Saigon for 13 years, came back to help with the hip-hop community. He was our connection to the clothing line crew we featured at our event. An inspiration to all Hanoi rappers

Producer: Chjuljnh

Hanoi’s vaporwave champion on the come up, used his drum pads and chill set to let guests take a break from the high energy battle raging inside the venue. I predict him excelling professionally in the music industry in Vietnam

+Kid Nasty- Coolest dude in Hanoi. Runs his own vintage hip hop clothing store, is an unreal grafiiti artist, and a insane bboy. He’s another living entity of VN hip-hop

+Our Judge: Veteran BBoy: Mountain. Known as “teacher” in the bboy community. He made a points system that categorized different moves the breakers used. His judging and supervision allowed our main event to run smoothly
