my favorite disney outfits for these two đ©·
Roxas and NaminĂ© as Terrence and Tinkerbell is so fitting đ§ââïž Really love how you chose Wonderland for the setting too! It works very well for a Pixie Hollow-esque setting and also love how relaxed they are together sitting on the leaf â€ïž

You Shouldn't Have Done That
RokuNami Week Day 5 - Pranks
Crossover with the Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
Summary: In a tender memory, a young Roxas and Naminé play a mischievous prank during the annual Carnival of Time.
đšđšđš
In Another Universe
âROXAS, I DONâT KNOW ABOUT THIS.â
A little girl with blonde hair tied in two braids, wearing a cute white dress with blue sandals, nervously shifted in place. Her blue eyes shone with worry, and yet she couldnât deny the little thrill of excitement at what her best friend was planning.Â
The boy, Roxas, simply grinned at the girl playfully. Wearing a simple outfit of a white jacket and black pants along with black shoes, in his hands he held two masks.Â
One of the masks was too terrifying for NaminĂ© to even look at for more than a few seconds. It was shaped like a heart, with four spikes coming from both sides, two spikes coming from the top, and a pair of bulging red eyes.Â
The other mask looked more like a Terminan with white hair, what seems to be a cut off blue hat, black eye sockets and markings of red and blue on the cheeks and forehead.    Â
âCâmon Nami, itâs just a prank for Anju and Kafei. I still need to get back at her for setting those cuccos on me,â just remembering Anjuâs laughter while he ran away from the angry cuccos was enough for Roxas to smile evilly.Â
This would teach her to not mess with him, Clock Townâs resident prank master. No one outdid him when it came to pranks.
NaminĂ© crossed her arms, staring at him with a raised eyebrow, âthen why are you involving Kafei in this?âÂ
To her understanding, Kafei hadnât done anything to have the unfortunate wrath of Roxasâ pranks fall upon him.Â
âBecause, when the cuccos were chasing after me, all Kafei did was laugh along with Anju. He might as well have been an accomplice.âÂ
Ready to get the prank started, Roxas thrust the mask of the Terminan person to her. âLuckily, the Happy Mask Salesman let me borrow these masks from him. Once the prank is done, Iâll just give them back to him.âÂ
NaminĂ© still wasnât totally sold on pranking Anju and Kafei, today was the Carnival of Time after all, but she also wasnât going to let Roxas do this by himself.Â
They had made a promise to spend every day together, and this was no exception.
.
.
.
Finding Anju and Kafei had been easy. At the start of the Carnival of Time, the four would meet up inside the secret passage of East Clock Town that led to the observatory, where the four would hold secret meetings from time to time.Â
There, they hangout until it was time for the carnival to truly begin, and the adults would come around looking for them to spend the night together.Â
It was their secret place, even if it was damp and filled with critters.Â
At the last minute, however, NaminĂ© told Anju that she and Roxas wouldnât be showing up at the secret place because their parents were holding them up. Anju and Kafei could meet up if they wanted at the secret place, which both Roxas and NaminĂ© knew the two would do.  Â
They made sure to get to the secret passage before Anju and Kafei, in order to scare them as the prank required.Â
The two had changed into different outfits; Naminé wore a white tunic with black pants, brown boots and tied her hair up in order to stuff it into a blue pointy hat she found in her closet.
Roxas on the other hand, disguised himself with a red cloak and green pants, complete with red wooden shoes and a red straw hat that covered his hair.Â
Silently shaking with giggles, the two mischievous children stood in their places and waited for Anju and Kafei to arrive.
.
.
.
âI wonder what emergency Roxas and NaminĂ©âs parents had,â Anju wondered while walking inside the secret place.Â
As always, the passage was damp and humid, the smell causing her nose to scrunch up in displeasure. While the scent left much to be desired, this was their secret place and Anju wouldnât stop coming just because she didnât like how it smelled.Â
âI donât know but I hope everythingâs okay,â Kafei looked a bit worried, always the softer one along with NaminĂ©. Unlike Anju and Roxas, who were more adventurous, Kafei and NaminĂ© tended to hover worriedly over their more extroverted other halves.Â
âBy the way, doesnât it feel more⊠quiet than usual?â
Kafei could feel his heart beginning to pick up, not used to how silent it felt in the secret passage. Since it was only him and Anju, the absence of Roxas and NaminĂ© was keenly felt.Â
âDonât worry so much, since itâs just us here, of course itâll feel quieter than usual.âÂ
Anju waved away his concerns, focusing on jumping the platforms in order to cross the water-filled pathway.Â
The two turned to the left and walked towards where the staircase awaited, intending to go to the observatory in order to use Professor Shikashiâs giant telescope.Â
Looking around as he felt like something had been watching him, Kafei bumped into Anju, who had frozen at the entrance.Â
âHuh? Are you okay Anââ
While looking around her to see what had frozen her, Kafeiâs heart picked up at lightning speed as he took in the situation.Â
Sitting down on top of the entrance to the observatory, wearing the most terrifying mask Kafei had ever seen before, had to be some sort of malicious spirit.Â
Anjuâs courageous attitude was nowhere to be seen as her mouth opened and closed in terror, her hands beginning to shake. For his part, Kafei was clutching Anjuâs hand painfully, his face devoid of color and his eyes bulging.
The spirit giggled eerily, like a child, itâs voice high-pitched and grating.Â
âYouâve met with a terrible fate, havenât you?â
That sentence awakened a primal fear in Anju, who couldnât even find her voice to speak, instead choosing to turn around and drag Kafei away from this place.Â
To her horror, another malicious spirit awaited them, where the lit up torch stood. Where once that torch wouldâve brought a feeling of safety for lighting the way to the observatory, the fire only added to the creepiness of the new spirit.Â
White, blank eyes, red and white markings, and what seemed to be some sort of weapon on itâs back.Â
At this point, Kafei and Anju were shaking, they had never felt such fear like this before. They shouldâve never gone to the secret place.Â
âLetâs play something. Letâs play good guys against bad guys. Are you ready? Youâre the bad guy. And when youâre bad, you just run. Thatâs fine, right?â
Their screams echoed within the night, followed by Anjuâs angry screech when Roxas broke character and bursted into laughter at their faces.
NaminĂ© and Kafei spent that day watching Anju chase Roxas all over Clock Town with her shoe in her hand, ready to give him a few whacks for scaring her so badly.        Â
Youâve met with a terrible fate, havenât you?

A/N: Another crossover with Zelda! I was actually pretty stuck on what to do with this prompt, the creative juices just weren't flowing đ. But then I remembered the Happy Mask Salesman and his masks and I knew where I wanted this fic to go! Roxas is indeed a mischievous little bugger, and rest assured that Anju chewed him out for his prank.
There's angry cuccos chasing after you and then there's dressing up with a creepy mask and scaring the daylights out of someone đ. Kafei had nightmares for months because of this prank, much to NaminĂ©'s shame. As always, happy @rokunamiweek of 2025 everyone!
This work is now available in AO3!
Love how you brought back the Zelda AU again! It was fun imagining Roxas and NaminĂ© using the infamous masks from Majora's Mask to pull a prank, and it was cool how you wove in elements of canon like with the Secret Place đ
Day 5: Pranks
Roxasâs seventh wonder... always waiting to be found đ€Ł
Happy RokuNami week!
Do You Get Deja Vu?
RokuNami Week Day 4 - Free Day
Crossover with Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
Summary: The Carnival of Time is about to start, and NaminĂ© canât help but feel like this exact moment has happened before.
đŠđŠđŠ
In Another Universe
âYOU KNOW, I FEEL LIKE WEâVE LIVED THIS MOMENT BEFORE.â
Turning to look at his fiancĂ©e, Roxas noticed the particular expression in NaminĂ©âs face. As if she were recalling some sort of memory that was too foggy to truly remember it.Â
At night, Clock Town glowed with festivity, decorations adorning the buildings. Fire burned brightly, and the stars greeted each and every Terminan citizen.Â
At the thought of stars, Roxas couldnât help but take a glance at the moon. That moon, with cruel yellow eyes and a mouth twisted in a hideous grin. If it were up to him, Roxas wouldâve long moved out of Clock Town, as an adult it would be in his rights.Â
But this is the same town he and NaminĂ© had been born in. The same town they met each other in, played in, conversed in, and met everyone else who had become so dear to them.Â
They already knew they wanted to get married here, and soon leave for their honeymoon to travel across Termina.
The Carnival of Time shouldâve been something for them to be excited about, but not only have they attended this annual carnival every year, Roxas understands what NaminĂ© is feeling right now.Â
It feels like deja vu, and Roxas doesnât know why.Â
Or why he wants to shy away from thinking more on it.Â
Shaking his head a bit to get back to the present, Roxas nudges Naminé gently, giving her a comforting smile.
âI think I know what you mean, but letâs think about that tomorrow. The carnival is about to start.âÂ
Blinking up at him, NaminĂ© nodded in agreement but a part of her couldnât help but keep on dwelling on this mysterious feeling she had. Looking around at everyone gathered for the celebration, she eyed some of the people she knew.Â
Anju, her mother and surprisingly her grandmother, Madame Aroma, Mayor Dotour⊠No Kafei in sight, unfortunately. She had no idea where Kafei had gone to, but she hopes he shows up soon.
Recalling Anjuâs sobs of despair when she realized her fiancĂ© had gone missing caused NaminĂ©âs heart to clench painfully.
She felt for Anju, and never wanted to understand her pain. The thought of Roxas disappearing on her, and never finding him no matter how hard she would look, the thought threatened to bring tears to her eyes.Â
Hearing the Clock Tower ring, signaling that it was now midnight, the fireworks show began and Roxas and NaminĂ© gazed upon it with admiration. No matter how many years it has been, the fireworks will never cease to amaze either one of them.Â
The tower expanded, with the upper half falling over and the multiple doors inside of it falling to reveal the passage inside.Â
NaminĂ© remembered that on her mischievous days with Roxas, the two had actually sneaked inside the tower in order to see what was inside. That day had ended with their parents furious with them, and a severe grounding.Â
Child NaminĂ© had cried, as she rarely had to be punished, but the NaminĂ© of now could only smile with amusement and fond nostalgia.Â
Similarly, Roxas remembered many fond memories he shared with Naminé in their childhood. Running around Clock Town, causing havoc everywhere.
Kafei would be the one to join in Roxasâ pranks more often than not, and Anju took it upon herself to scold them all whenever they got caught.Â
Grabbing each otherâs hands, Roxas and NaminĂ© didnât know why they felt such dread at this moment, when it shouldâve been a happy occasion (as happy as it could be with Kafei missing). Something just felt wrong, but they didnât know why.
Linking their hands together brought some comfort, and they stood in their spot, watching as the fireworks lit up the town, and prayed that tomorrow would arrive quickly. Â
Nobody paid much attention to a blonde child dressed in green, a fairy accompanying him, as he ran inside the passage of the tower.Â
Or to the fact that the moon was descending upon them at a much faster rate than ever before.    Â
Night of the Final Day
đŠđŠđŠ
A/N: Fourth day completed! Since it's a free day, I still wanted to go with the carnival theme of this year, but with a crossover đ. I love the Legend of Zelda series (Wind Waker is my favorite game of the franchise đ„ł), and I felt the Carnival of Time would've been perfect for Roxas and NaminĂ© to experience. It's bittersweet, because it's the Final Day before the moon drops, but thankfully Link is there to save the day đ„°. As always, happy @rokunamiweek of 2025 everyone!
This work is now available in AO3!
This is a really cool idea incorporating the Legend of Zelda! Love the little cameo with Link at the end, and how you integrated Roxas and NaminĂ© into the world of Zelda with having them grow up in Clock Town. The Carnival of Time sounds super fun too and your descriptions of the scene around them were lovely â€ïž
King's Cake Hidden Surprise
RokuNami Week Day 3 - Snacks
Summary: While at the carnival, Roxas and Naminé find a sweet treat for themselves, and it ends with the revelation of a surprise tradition.
đšđšđš
âKING CAKE? I THINK TIANA TOLD ME ABOUT IT.â
NaminĂ© hummed under her breath in thought, staring at the colorful cake in front of her. Roxas had found a stall that was selling king cake, and knew that NaminĂ©âs sweet tooth would crave for it. After purchasing the cake, they found a nearby table to sit and eat in peace.Â
Oval-shaped and sweet, the cake was glazed on top and powdered with the striking colors of purple, green and gold.Â
Inwardly, she salivated over getting to eat the cake, finding it to look appetizing. As if sensing where her thoughts were going, Roxas shot her a smirk, finding her appreciation for food to be hilarious and adorable.Â
âI get that youâre starving Nami, but make sure to leave me some too,â ignoring the glare he received for his teasing, Roxas cut two pieces of the cake, one for him and one for NaminĂ©.Â
NaminĂ© couldnât help but notice that he cut her the bigger piece of the two, and while she did feel a tinge of embarrassed shame that her love for food was so apparent, it wasnât enough to stop her from immediately eating.
It tasted like a cinnamon roll, Roxas noted as he chewed calmly. A big cinnamon roll with glaze and powdered sugar on top. The colors were essentially the colors of Mardi Gras, made to represent the carnival.
Cutting another piece of his slice, Roxas was content to just eat in peace, until he almost died.Â
Because of course he does.Â
Choking on something that was inside the cake, NaminĂ© had to pound him on the back to get him to spit out the object.Â
Coughing a bit wetly, Roxas looked at the item that he had spit out, realizing that it looked like a plastic baby.Â
âWho would put a plastic baby, of all things, inside a cake?â He glared at it, frustrated that the way he almost left this world was through choking on a plastic baby.Â
No, he will never let this go and no, heâs not being a baby about it either. Rubbing his back comfortingly, NaminĂ© took a napkin in order to wipe the saliva from the baby, and stared at it pensively.
âFrom what Tiana told me, this is supposed to be a tradition. The plastic baby is meant to represent a figure called Jesus Christ, and is hidden inside the cake to be found. Once the person finds the baby, they become either the king or queen of the day and are supposed to bring the cake for next year.âÂ
Roxas stared at her with some confusion, âdoes this mean I have to prepare king cake for everyone at the carnival?âÂ
NaminĂ© laughed gently, and shook her head. âI think itâll be fine to just prepare king cake for our friends back home.âÂ
Letting out a hum of agreement, Roxas cleared his throat and stared at the plastic baby in the napkin. Regardless of the fact that it almost killed him, Roxas found the tradition to be a bit fun. He just wishes he had been told about this previously, so he wouldnât have been caught off guard.Â
Leaving the baby in the napkin, Roxas and Naminé finished their king cake entirely, standing from the table they found and linking their hands, eager to find what else awaits for them at the carnival.
Interlude at the Carnival
đšđšđš
A/N: A bit later than usual, but here is day 3 of RokuNami Week đ„ł! I thought it would be funny to imagine how it would be for Roxas and NaminĂ© to discover the tradition of king cake, which unfortunately resulted in Roxas' almost choking to death đ. Pretty happy about how this turned out. As always, happy @rokunamiweek of 2025 everyone đšđ!
This work is now available in AO3!
This was a really cute fic with the King Cake tradition! NaminĂ©'s sweet tooth here is so cute and Roxas knowing and giving her the bigger slice made it all the more sweet đ° Excited to see how the rest of the week at Mardi Gras unfolds for them đ
Now that I see you đ
Always and Forever
RokuNami Week Day 2 - Parade
Summary: While watching the parade, Roxas and Naminé come to a heartfelt conclusion in what they want out of their lives together.
đŠđŠđŠ
âTHIS IS AWESOME!â
Not for the first time, Roxas found himself grateful to the invitation Tiana and Naveen extended to them for Mardi Gras. The parade felt like something out of this world for Roxas, not hesitating in leaning forward to get closer.Â
Floating heads, colors of purple, green, yellow and even blue decorating everything around, marching bands, it was a mixture of sounds that normally wouldâve irritated him but he was too absorbed with the parade to care.Â
NaminĂ©, too, couldnât help but try to get closer, amazed by what was happening in front of her. Her first time at a carnival had been turning out to be an amazing experience, and she mentally jotted down to tell Kairi she needed to see this for herself in person next year.Â
She could picture it now; raving to Kairi about Mardi Gras and everything she and Roxas did, Kairi then marching and demanding Sora and Riku to come with her to the carnival next year so they could experience it together.Â
A soundless giggle left her lips at the mental image, Kairi always knows how to get what she wants.Â
But the thoughts of Kairi left her mind, and she returned to watching the parade floats in front of her. Never has she been more grateful to live her life the way she shouldâve been able to since her creation.
No longer did she have to deal with Castle Oblivion and itâs cold, white marble halls. No longer would she ever be caged and used for the benefit of others. NaminĂ© had escaped her prison, had left that castle behind, and every day she felt grateful to be able to live in the present with everyone that she cares about.   Â
Catching a glance of a grinning Roxas beside her, NaminĂ© turned to face him. The lights of the parade and festivities around them shined on him, as if a halo crowned his head. No matter how long itâs been, he still had the same effect on her.Â
Golden-spun hair in that endearing spiky mess, deep blue eyes, as deep as the ocean itself. She knew her cheeks were flushed red and burning, and she could grumble at how lovesick she truly was over this boy, but who could blame her?Â
It was Roxas after all.Â
Thinking of him, seeing him admire the parade in front of him, Naminé felt her heart clench. Not painfully, but dear to her.
Suddenly, NaminĂ© felt small tears fall down her cheeks, like twin sacred rivers. She felt so grateful to be here, in this moment, with Roxas. No one else couldâve made her feel what her heart was telling her, it could only be Roxas.Â
As if feeling something was wrong, Roxasâ head turned to her, worriedly.Â
âAre you okay NaminĂ©?âÂ
Roxas softly clutched her cheek, his thumb gently caressing the tear track. Her eyes looked watery, but there was a bright smile on her face, one he couldnât help but admire with wide eyes and heated cheeks.Â
This girl could enchant him in any mundane way, and he wouldnât have it any other way. Experiencing this carnival and everything it had to offer, it couldâve only been with NaminĂ©. This special sensation in his heart, it only belonged with her.Â
She looked so beautiful, with the lights illuminating her pale blonde hair. Her blue-grey eyes looked at him adoringly, like he was the only person in the world for her. It was a humbling feeling, the depths of how she loved him.Â
Roxas returns that same love, every day, and not once has he imagined living without it. Ever since that day he met her, perhaps his soul understood that she is his twin flame, the person he would fall irrevocably in love with.
Honestly, only NaminĂ© could have him wax poetry about her in his head. It must be all those trashy romance novels she forces him to read, but that he secretly enjoys. No way would he tell her, lest she gets too big of a head.  Â
âYes, everything is okay. Weâre together now, always and forever.âÂ
It felt like a vow, those last three words spoken together, and Roxasâ heart thumped in his chest at her declaration. Call it reckless, impulsive, or too hasty, but Roxas knows within his heart that he wants forever with NaminĂ©.Â
It doesn't matter if others protest, that they were too young to even be thinking about getting married. Quite frankly speaking, Roxas couldnât give a damn about the opinions of other people. All he knows is that heâs certain in this decision, no matter how soon it might be.Â
Traveling to all these worlds with her, it had been a dream come true to him. Watching her sketch in Halloween Town, her tongue sticking out in concentration and her annoyed grumbles at having to readjust her hat every five minutes.Â
Seeing her twirl and swim around with Ariel, her glittering white tail catching his attention every time, unable to look away from her happiness.Â
Laughing at her reactions when eating at the imperial palace, Roxas couldâve sworn he saw her drool once, despite her vehement denials.
He wanted that, Roxas realized. He wanted all of that and more, every day. He wanted to see her draw in a loveseat, comfort her whenever she felt burned out and praise her whenever she finished a painting and wanted him to see it.Â
He wanted to see her try all sorts of foods, to watch her drool over peking duck and sweet and sour pork again. He wanted to wipe away her drool, for Lightâs sake, thatâs how down bad he was.Â
As Olette would tease, âyouâre head over heels Rox, down horrendously bad for Nami.â
At this point, he didnât even care about being whipped and everyone knowing it. Let everyone see how in love he is with NaminĂ©. Let them know that there will never be no changing of his feelings, that he will never be led astray.   Â
Her vow tells him everything, that this is exactly what she wants as well. And Roxas has never been one for denying Naminé anything.
âAlways and forever.âÂ
With those whispered words of devotion, their vow sealed, the two leaned in and connected their lips, sharing a kiss that marked the beginning of a new adventure in their lives together.
End of the Carnival
đŠđŠđŠ
A/N: Second day of RokuNami Week completed đ! I had a lot of fun with this prompt, and these two have me giggling over their interactions and thoughts about each other. Can't believe wedding bells are ringing in the distance đ€Ł. Does anyone else catch where the "always and forever" phrase comes from? Teehee, it was from a popular TV show. As always, happy @rokunamiweek of 2025 everyone đŠđ„ł!
This work is now available in AO3!
This was so cute! Really love how we get Roxas's perspective in this story about their world travels, and how you continued from the first prompt about them at Mardi Gras with Tiana and Naveen! All the moments between Roxas and NaminĂ© were super cute too, and you could really feel the love they have for each other â€ïž
Of Masks & Carnivals (A Witch & A Lost Boy)
RokuNami Week Day 1 - Behind the Mask
Summary: Invited to experience Mardi Gras at New Orleans, NaminĂ© reminisces on how sheâs moved on from Castle Oblivion.Â
Roxas reminisces about a witch in white with an enigmatic smile, who still drives him crazy.
đšđšđš
STARING AT ALL THE FESTIVITY SURROUNDING HER, NaminĂ© couldnât stop her wide-eyed wonder even if she tried. She adjusted her white mask, making sure there would be no chance of it falling off. Â
After Riku had successfully saved Sora from Quadratum, and everyone simultaneously scolded and hugged him enough to last for a lifetime, peace had returned in the lives of the guardians of light.
With her new replica body, selflessly given to her by Repliku (who she will never forget, will never stop mourning), Naminé had taken the chance to see the world that had been denied to her since her birth.
There had been so many new places NaminĂ© explored; Atlantica, where she had the chance to meet the beautiful mermaid Ariel, and swim around with her white tail. She did feel a bit let-down that she couldnât sketch underwater.Â
Paper doesnât mix well with water after all.Â
Halloween Town had been both terrifying and exciting, all at once. While her witchy costume felt a bit too on the nose for her (ha ha), she had sketched to her hearts content all the pumpkins, spiders, Jack and Sally dancing so sweetly, and even some of the landscape.Â
NaminĂ© swore up and down that the song âThis is Halloweenâ will forever be stuck inside her head after that visit. She still occasionally found herself humming the song under her breath while doing mundane chores.
In the Land of Dragons she met the brave warrior-duo of Mulan and Shang, and got to try out local foods that the imperial palace served; tanghulu, peking duck, dumplings and sweet and sour pork.Â
NaminĂ© had to lick her lips at the thought of tasting sweet and sour pork again.Â
NaminĂ© found herself admiring Mulanâs spirit and steadiness, and her courageous behavior at going undercover as a man to fight in place of her father at the army. NaminĂ© didnât know if she would ever have the same amount of courage as Mulan, but the young woman had been quick to soothe her brief bout of insecurities. Â
Beastâs Castle had been one of her top favorites, the library quickly becoming like a sanctuary to her, where she had been able to draw for hours uninterrupted, and had permission to read any book she would like from any shelf.
Belle had been gentle and polite, drawing Naminé in for discussions about books and complimenting her sketchbook. Beast intimidated her at the start, but he became truly soft when around Belle.
Throughout all those worlds, through thick and thin, never far, Roxas had been by her side. Â
And now here she was, at a carnival called Mardi Gras, invited by Tiana and Naveen. Naminé felt truly privileged to experience festivity of this size; people wore masks, colorful costumes and the streets were decorated from top to bottom in colors of purple, yellow and green.
Painted faces greeted her at every turn, and no matter where she faced, food would be right there. Whether itâd be king cake, jambalaya, beignets, poâboy, Ă©touffĂ©e or gumbo, NaminĂ©âs stomach rumbled at the sight of each delicious meal.Â
Truly, spending time with Sora affected her in becoming just as obsessed with food as he is.Â
Before she could commence her food tour, NaminĂ© looked around and bit her lip. Distracted as she had become, she quickly began noticing Roxasâ absence. He told her he would step away for a bit in order to get them drinks, but he still wasnât back yet.
The years may have been lovely to her, and sheâs learned to be kind with herself after everything, but the kernel of fear in her stomach couldnât help but make itâs reappearance.Â
Is Roxas in trouble? Does he need help? Should she leave her spot and search for him?Â
The last thing she wanted to do was make Roxas feel like he needed to be with her 24/7 or she would perish.Â
Fanning her hand as if waving away that silly thought, Naminé jumped as someone poked her from behind. Turning around, she heaved a sigh of relief at seeing Roxas with a black mask, a toothy grin turning his lips upwards. In his hands were two cups of lemonade.
âSomeoneâs jumpy today,â Roxas said, blue eyes dancing with merriment.Â
He held out one of the lemonade cups to her, and she had half a mind to refuse the cup just to mess with him for worrying her.Â
Luckily for him, she isnât that mean.
Taking the cup from him and huffing indignantly at the same time, NaminĂ© couldnât help but pout up at him.Â
âI canât believe you scared me, and after I was worrying about you too.â Turning up her nose with eyes closed, NaminĂ© decided that Roxas no longer deserved her concern for him.
It was all playful of course, Naminé will always find herself worrying about Roxas. However, it felt liberating to act like this with him. She no longer needed to be overly mature and reserve, she could act as she pleased because she knows Roxas will always accept her.
Letting out a laugh, Roxas approached the annoyed girl and wrapped his arms around her waist, resting his chin on her head. He will never get over the fact that he can now hold her in his arms. That Naminé loves him, wants to be with him now and forever.
Ever since he saw her, in that fateful day in Twilight Town, with a simple white dress and an enigmatic smile, he had been drawn. Even when she had delivered the worst news he had ever heard in his life, there had been something about her that he couldnât quite explain back then.
In a way, NaminĂ© had seen through him, and he had seen through her. They were two lonely kids, who didnât ask for the fate forced upon them, but had no choice but to play their parts.Â
While lost, confused and angry at being denied his identity, that he was seen as lesser than Sora simply because he was a Nobody, this self-admitted white witch had been his anchor in those final moments. Her promise of meeting again struck something inside him; her desperation for him to believe her resonating with his soul.   Â
While inside Soraâs heart, Roxas had come to terms with how he felt about NaminĂ©. He had felt resentment towards her; for her part in messing up Soraâs memories, for bluntly telling him that he needed to die in order for Sora to wake up, that he was never supposed to exist in the first place.
But NaminĂ© hadnât messed with Soraâs memories because she wanted to. She had been a victim just as much as he and Xion had been. And while she had made mistakes, NaminĂ© took the time to apologize to both him and Xion over what had happened.Â
Everything changed once Xehanort had been defeated. He, NaminĂ© and Xion now had replica bodies, and could live their lives as they shouldâve been able to since the beginning.Â
Roxas couldnât see himself anywhere else that isnât beside NaminĂ©. Traveling to all the worlds with her has been the best decision Roxas has ever made.
Feeling a soft finger touch his cheek, Roxas looked down to see NaminĂ© looking at him with clear concern in her gaze (despite her saying that she wouldnât worry about him anymore).
Then, that concern dissipated, and a knowing smile graced her lips. It said a lot about them both that Roxas had a good indication of what she was silently communicating.Â
I see you.Â
No matter what mask you wear, I will always see you.Â
He sees her too.
And he will never stop seeing her for who she is.
Start of the Carnival
đšđšđš
A/N: Here we are, RokuNami Week has started đ! I'm pretty excited to participate in this event, and the theme being carnival is honestly very exciting. I hope you guys enjoyed this first day and happy @rokunamiweek of 2025 everyone đšđ!
This work is now available in AO3!
Happy RokuNami Week! đ
Love your idea of Roxas and NaminĂ© attending Mardi Gras with Tiana and Naveen! It fits the theme perfectly đ It was nice getting a glimpse into NaminĂ©'s life post-KH3 too and imagining her on all sorts of travels alongside Roxas, and the ending lines worked perfectly for their relationship too â€ïž
[ID: khux sprite edits of Roxas and Naminé at a masquerade ball in the Castle of Dream. They are standing outside at the castle's entrance under the stars. Naminé is wearing a red outfit and taking off her mask. Roxas is wearing a blue outfit and blue mask. He is smiling and reaching out to Naminé. End ID]
RokuNami Week Day 1: Behind the Mask
Happy RokuNami Week! đ„ł
This is such a cute idea with the KHux avatars! Love how you chose the Castle of Dreams as the backdrop and the outfits with the masks too đ It fits the prompt perfectly, especially with how you have NaminĂ© removing her mask â€ïž
The Masque of the Heartless Man
Happy @rokunamiweek! đ„ł For Day 1: Behind the Mask. Loosely inspired by Edgar Allen Poeâs âMasque of the Red Death.â ~1150 words. Canon divergence, mystery, slight horror vibes.

Organization XIII had had its best year yet. Roxas and Xion had gathered so many hearts that Kingdom Hearts was nearly complete.
Why not throw a party, then, to celebrate. A masquerade ball at The World That Never Was. All the Organization members plus a whole bunch of Dusks were in attendance in their finest black cloaks and masks, mingling and reveling in a way that belied their heartless state.
Demyx played the sitar for some dancing Dusks, and Luxord was engrossed in a lively game of cards with Lexaeus, Xaldin, and Xigbar at a nearby table. Zexion read poetry excerpts that most everyone save for a few curious Dusks ignored. Vexen concocted colorful neon drinks of questionable flavors that mask-wearing Moogles delivered to guests, and Larxene and Marluxia made snarky comments to each other from the sidelines as Axel showed Xion and a few curious Dusks his favorite moves. SĂ€ix sulked in a corner and refused a neon blue drink from a Moogle, and Xemnas watched everything from the balcony above, his mask hiding his face completely.
Roxas, for his part, was also dressed in a black cloak and wore a black mask. He stood a little ways away from the others, tucked into an alcove of the castle surrounded by Dusks congratulating their liege on his progress. This was his first party, and he was overwhelmed by all the sights and sounds and sensations. He wanted to rejoin Axel and Xion soon, but he wasnât used to so much movement or noise happening at the same time.
