Making Faces

Making Faces By:- Amy Harmon

Okay let me just take a moment to just breathe because this book is WOW. LIKE seriously WOOOOOW. I cannot begin to tell you how much I came to love this book! Now its where to begin that’s the trouble.

The story line took me by surprise. You know reading the blurb on goodreads was totally misleading. It talked about how 5 guys went to war and only one came back and in turn making it seem like this whole book was going to be about his healing process and him falling in love with the girl that heals him. Wrong, wrong, wrong! So very WRONG! I mean yeah sure it does have that story line but in reality its really much more than that. It was a story of real friendship, of hardships and the strength of faith. Sure it has the whole religion aspect (and mind you I do not like books that are soaked in religion) however it didn’t weigh the book down one bit. I feel that when you include religion in a book it makes the book heavier, more serious and frankly boring. But Harmon aced this aspect I thoroughly enjoyed it all including the religious aspects.

The friendship Harmon crafted in this book is jealous worthy. I was seriously jealous of how tight and how loyal the friendships in the book were (yeah yeah I’m petty like that.) It was so well crafted that it felt so real. It was beautiful seeing these friendships and being apart of them although from a far away aspect. 

Harmon also touches on other topics and doesn’t just leave it just one. Abuse, ugliness, beauty, tragedy, courage, disabilities, true friendship, death, guilt, romance, religion, moving on, murder, etc. I like how she really didn’t stop at just one thing or a handful of them, she chose to expand and create a story that can be related and understood by many and not just a few.

THE CHARACTERS!! I loved all of THEM! ALL. OF. THEM. That’s hard to do you know a book where you love all the characters (minus the jackass that ruins people lives though, he can rot in hell for all I could care.) And this is a very hard feat to achieve in my opinion. I’m a very, very, very picky character person. Either the author doesn’t know how to write a decent character up, or the author writes a cliché character. Harmon created unforgettable characters that touch your heart and remain there long after the book has finished. I seriously applaud Harmon very hard to win me over in the character department because I’m extremely harsh (and totally proud of it) but she did it, she really did! Fern, Bailey, Ambrose, Beans, Grant, Paulie, Jesse, Rita, list goes on. I couldn’t help but love in love more and more with them with each passing page. They are really noteworthy characters.

The writing was something I enjoyed as well, grabs your attention throughout the whole book (meaning yeah I didn’t skip one word unlike other books where I’m tempted to do so and sometimes I end up doing so) and also its told from various points of view. Now I wanna point some attention to that, the pov’s, its not literally each chapter its from a different point of view (which I love immensely but its seriously overdone) its told from Fern’s point of view most of the book however during chapters it would switch to a different character for the length of a paragraph. So watch out sometimes it switches a point of view and you won’t realize it till after you finish reading the paragraph. Another thing I really loved was how the author would also take you back to the past (when they were children around 10 years old.) Oh and another thing I loved was the names of the chapters! OMG finally a book where the chapter names make sense directly! Oh and just a little hint pay attention to the names of the chapters, all of them together make sense at the end of the book.

Would I Recommend this? HELL YES!

Rating:- 4.80 stars  (The reason I didn’t give this a 5 was well there’s no such thing as a 5 star book and second of all the name of the book and the cover did not do this book any justice. Seriously that was the only crap I had with the book. The title although explained in the book just didn’t cut it for me. And no I was not looking for something to hate on, I just seriously hated the title.)

Faking Normal

Faking Normal By:- Courtney C. Stevens

Alexi has a secret, one so complex that it can bring the beautiful castle known as her life tumbling down. So why make it complex, why not keep that secret just that: a secret. Its all fine and dandy faking normal that is until Bodee come’s along. Cause you see Bodee is faking normal too but for a different reason. These two slowly fix each other and encourage each other to do what the other have never dared to do: speak up.

Bodee was a character I enjoyed immensely! He was a sweet sweet, Kool Aid kid. I loved the fact that everyday he changed his hair color with Kool Aid! I mean come on, that’s seriously cool (no pun intended)! Anyways but yeah Bodee was a character that was hard not to love! I loved how Bodee helped Alexi to change. I loved how he always was there for her, putting her first. I love how he saw through her, I loved that. That he knew she was faking normal as well as him. Well it takes one to know one right?

Alexi was a good female lead. She was sweet, kind and really brave. The fact that she still interacted with her rapist like it never happened pissed me off immensely but was still a brave act. It takes gut to still look them in the eye. I loved how she helped slay Bodee’s demons and he in turn did the same. The thing I do wish though was that she was more there for Bodee. I felt he did more for her than she did for him. But hey the character’s wound up happy, who am I to complain?

The one problem I seriously had with Alexi and I must add it was a refreshingly new problem was the fact that she didn’t want to tell not because she was ashamed, no, it was because he was a good guy that made a mistake. To be honest I never thought someone who was raped could think in terms of that, and maybe that’s what made Alexi an unbelievable character. It made me think, really think, do people who are raped ever think like that? That they are going to ruin the person who raped them life? Do they really think along those lines? She even had trouble calling him a rapist because she was convinced he was a good guy that made a stupid mistake. I would think that’s not the case to hide a rape, or I hope not, and for me maybe that loses the sense of some reality behind the book. Remember I like a book to be at least believable even if it is fiction. But then I’d think what the heck would I know? I mean God forbid I haven’t gone through that, and God forbid I ever will, so how would I know the reasons for keeping a rape a secret? This book, or more like the reason behind the rape and keeping the rape a secret, made me think a lot about it afterwards. And any book that can make me think about it long after I have read it is a definite winner!

Heather, one of Alexi’s best friends, I came to hate a lot throughout the story. The author was trying to make her one of these badass chicks, the loud mouth and outgoing one of the group. But for me she failed to draw up that character properly and Heather instead came off as: selfish, quick to judge, and a 3 year old. I just didn’t really like her character at all.

Oh I also held a really deep hatred for Alexi’s sister, Kayla, bitch doesn’t even cut it. However blood is really thicker than water really applies in this story between the two sisters.

Other than that the story was pretty interesting, the writing style is pretty good as well. It was a really good read in my opinion. One last thought to add though, when they mentioned they were religious people I was a bit nervous about reading the book. I like a heads up if the characters are religious cause dude judgmental doesn’t even cut it. And I really have had enough judgment to last me a lifetime don’t need no more thank you very much. But to my relief they didn’t rub the religiousness in your face the whole time. For example: God would want me to…. God thinks its not meant to be… God forgives so should I… Get my drift? There was some religious aspect to it but not the obnoxious in your face kind. And I tend to hate books that do that, however Faking Normal doesn’t do that.

Would I Recommend this? Yes!

Maybe Someday

Maybe Someday By:- Colleen Hoover

Sydney’s 22nd birthday is by far the worst day ever! She finds out her 2 year long boyfriend has been shacking up with her roommate. She punched them both packed her things and left and now here she is standing in the rain with her luggage. This was not how she imagined her birthday going. Well she could always go back to her parents’ house and drop her music degree and go for pre law like her father wanted her to. Maybe she should go to a motel before she makes a rash decision. Just as she’s getting in a taxi she realizes her purse, like the idiot that she is, is in the apartment with her roommate. Great just great! But then Sydney gets help from her local guitar player Ridge and he helps her get back on her feet. 

WOW Colleen outdid herself! I loved this book!!! I mean I couldn’t predict the outcome till the last few chapters and that’s AWESOME. I mean seeing the ending just from starting the book really isn’t my cup of tea. So this was a nice change up. I mean Hoover kept me on my toes! I didn’t see any of that happening, none of it.

I grew to love our heroine. She was a bit messy at the beginning but its really understandable considering what she went through. But I loved how loyal she was! I mean its really rare to find someone that isn’t willing to ruin another relationship because they honestly don’t want to even if it means losing the one you love. I loved Sydney for that! She was funny and outgoing!

Warren is awesome, he’s their roommate and god if he wasn’t in the story I don’t know how the book would have went. He’s fiercely loyal and an amazing friend that will go lengths for you. The fact that it would have been a meh book without him says a lot about his character and the role he plays.

Ridge the gorgeous musician that we grow to love more and more with each page.

Would I recommend it? YES!

Something Maybe

Something Maybe By:- Elizabeth Scott

Hannah is as invisible as the fly on the wall, or so she tries to be. But hey can you blame the girl? I mean her dad is Jackson! I mean the he’s the Hugh Hefner in this world of Elizabeth Scott. Complete with the “special girls” that waltz around the house with no shirts on and that are stars of Jackson’s home diary videos. And Hannah’s mother, Candy, was one of these girls at the age of 19. Yet two years later she’s kicked out of the castle (the playboy house if you will) and she’s two months pregnant!

Now you see how hard it is for Hannah to be invisible much less normal? I mean her mom makes a living out of video chats with complete strangers but in her underwear. Invisible? Nahhh its too easy for Hannah to stick out. But all the while Hannah wants to be a normal teenager. I mean go on a date with her soul mate Josh (who doesn’t exactly know he’s her soul-mate) and have some friends that will talk to her on a daily basis. Oh yeah and maybe stop thinking about Finn her co-worker, because she’s having thoughts that might put her father to shame.

All the while her mother and her are trying to deal with the loss of the only man that was a real dad and husband to them both.

In this book we see a minor character growth. I mean from the beginning till the end same girl just minus the self esteem issues she had with herself. Overall I thought the book was a pretty quick and fun read. I just wish I knew what happened with Tegean I mean the author just cut it off for her. Like I wish I knew did she go back, or did she at least apply to colleges?

 Would I Recommend it? Meh it was an okay read sure why the heck not?

I would give Something Maybe: 2.80 Stars (It really didn't stick out as something special)

The Pirate’s Kiss

The Pirate’s Kiss By:- Nicola Cornick

So this is a story about Daniel De Laney well known pirate and smuggler and Lucy, sweet tomboyish, witty Lucy. Who is a governess, which is helping young women get engaged to rich men. She’s sort of like their escort if you will. And how even after 12 years apart and a bitter department on both ends their passion is still strong. Yes you have guessed it: hot steamy pirate romance! Now of course there are the real villains in this story and the misunderstood hero (De Laney, might as well get it out in the open). It also has some quirky side characters that I enjoyed as well. So all in all it’s a really quick read about how to trust and love once more!

Would I Recommend This? If you are a sucker for Pirate Romance then YES!

I would give Pirate's Kiss: 4 Stars (You all know I’m a sucker for Pirate romance!)

Babe In Boyland

Babe In Boyland By:- Jody Gehrman

Your average She's the Man but a book version or Ouran High School Host Club-which is a manga or better known as a japanese comic- that is also another gender bender version. The thing about Babe In Boyland was it was lacking some woah, and oohs and some awes. It was lacking the surprise element. I predicted everything that was going to take place within the book in a matter of seconds. It didn't hold that anticipation you crave in books, no all you had to do was think and there you had the story (once you read the synopsis that is.)

Now you are probably wondering why the heck I even continued the book? Well its simple really I was curious to see if the author wouldn't live up to my correct imagination. I wanted to be wrong, I mean so wrong. Sure the characters were different, the reason was different, but all in all it felt the same and if not weaker compared to the other two gender benders I first mentioned.

Natalie is your average popular girl, the hair flipping included, the high pitched laughter. Yep your average girly girly. But the thing that I really liked about Natalie is how she changed after she became a guy. I liked how she grew to become both in the end. I think that's the one surprising feature of the whole book, the change in character we see. I always look closely to see that in books. But with Natalie she changed yet she didn't. She adopted some male traits yet stays close to her feminine roots.

Emilio, our Channing Tatum, that falls in love with his roommate and questions his sexual orientation. The guy that the roommate, Natalie, falls in the love with because of the deep connection they get over a week together. I think it seems pretty unrealistic, to me at least, that they fell in love with each other in one week. And heck half that week they made no convo's with each other. But if I think about it: in Nat's place, living, sleeping, going to school, eating. Yeah it adds up a bit. But not to the extent that it would happen in reality.

Would I recommend Babe In Boyland? Hmm yeah I guess so yeah why not?

I would give Babe In Boyland: 3 stars. I would have given it 2.40 or 2 because i'm in such a foul mood today. But what really saved it, for me, was the change in Natalie I saw at the end. I like how she smooshed Nat and Natalie together and becomes this whole new Natalie. An original that learns to think on both aspects of the gender.

One Moment

6 best friends joined at the hip since kindergarden begin a journey to recovery when one of them has an accident that takes their life. Memorial Day Weekend began with a party and ended with a death. The gang headed out to their secret cliff top to spend the day in the sun. But when Joey jumps off the cliff and lands to his death, everyone is in shock; especially Maggie, Joey's girlfriend, who was on top the cliff with him when it happened. Thing is Maggie can't remember ANYTHING. This book is a journey to recovery for the guilt, grief and hearts of these 5 young best friends.

Okay I had to say I really, really loved the book. It was so twisted. I kinda guessed Joey's secret, once they started finding pieces, but in some way it didn't ruin it for me like it usually does when I guess it. Of course it did take a while till we actually figure it out and till Maggie finally gets it. What I loved so much was the surprise factor the book held. We learn of Joey this popular, nice, cool, everyone-likes-him, baseball guy but we learn along the way of the book that although he was those things, he was some other things as well. Maggie begins to learn that Joey was hiding some secrets from them all. The only two people that even seem to know what it is, are Adam and Shannon but are refusing to talk or claiming ignorance. So Maggie sets out to find the answers to questions that Joey left behind and all the while she's trying to remember what had happened at the cliff top.

I loved seeing the change in Maggie from a timid person to one who demands answers. It was interesting seeing her development with another character- who I shall not name- or shall I say further development with this character. It was an ending I kinda was and wasn't expecting. Let me elaborate on this. At the beginning I didn't dream of this kind of an ending, but as I went along with the book I wanted this ending.

Would I recommend this? Yeah I loved it! It was a really good read.

The Stillburrow Crush

The Stillburrow Crush By:- Linda Kage

In the town of Stillburrow your social status determines your worth. If you're rich your gold, if you're poor well your poop basically. Stillburrow is your average small town, where everybody knows everybody, their life stories, their secrets, their mistakes, they know your EVERYTHING. So when Carrie Paxton, a poor 17 year old editor to the school magazine has to go interview Luke the rich, popular, smart boy, things get pretty complicated for her. Carries got a handful. I mean she's trying to burry her feelings for Luke but well that's impossible, and try to avoid the towns backbiting of her family and all the while trying to convince her astray brother come home.

I have a love hate relationship with Carrie. There were moments her smart mouth remarks were funny and there were moments where her mouth you just wanted to twist the sucker off of her. It surprises me how blunt she is which makes sense why she only have one friend. But for me personally I like a blunt person. I was also surprised at several other aspects of her life: like her job, her school grades. These little things is what pushes the two main characters together. If it wasn't for these things there would have been no reason for the characters to interact with.

Luke surprised me in a way that I really wanted to punch him. Yeah punch him. He has a motive for wanting to be around Carrie, yet at the same time he's embarrassed to be around her because of their standing difference in society. He annoyed me, I aint gonna lie. But I grew to like him bit by bit and when I really fell in love with him? Is when he bailed Carrie out of the huge problem that was dug for her by other people in the school. And his “secret” for wanting to get close to Carrie, was well kinda lame in my opinion. I don't think its “gay” as he says it is. I think its a brilliant secret that should be shared proudly with the world.

I give The Stillburrow Crush:- 3.30 stars

Would I recommend it? Maybe? It's not my all time favorite but it was actually a pretty okay book to kill some time. I liked the other characters and theirs stories as well but I felt something was lacking in the book. Its your average mister popular meets nobody, they fall in love, and she changes him.

Allegiant (#3 Divergent Trilogy)

Allegiant - Veronica Roth

Allegiant Allegiant oh where shall i begin? This is honestly going to be a pretty tuff review for me, because i practically worshipped the Divergent trilogy and this book is the end, the closure, in short: there's no more. And that's hard for me. When i finally found something that snapped me out of the depression i drowned myself in when Harry Potter had ended. Divergent was that safe haven i sunk myself in, to see it end is like seeing myself ending. Okay maybe i'm being a tad bit dramatic, but you get my point, right?

Now moving on to the actual review. To be honest i didn't love it. Okay wait, wait let me explain. I love Allegiant but it took me a bit longer to fall in love with it, than it did with Divergent and Insurgent. I was pretty surprised by my own  hate that had formed for the book. But thank god *wipes sweat* later on (but not too far into the book, i guess it was a slow start or something for me) i fell in L.O.V.E. I loved it to bits and pieces. Even though Roth put me through one hell of an emotional roller coaster i loved it. I don't think i've ever been that emotional about a book in a long time. I mean i'm no crier, and i've only cried once and that was when Dumbledore died, but while reading Allegiant i cried and cried. I'm not going to spoil anything. But if you aren't someone who isn't a crier and that is deeply attached to the Divergent trilogy, in short you're gonna cry sister/brother.

What made me fall in love:

1) The character development:

Wow is all i can say. The characters have come a long way from the first book. In some characters we see drastic changes while in others its tiny amounts of change that nevertheless speak volumes. I loved seeing them change into people they wanted to be.

2) Tris + Tobias (Six + Four):

Oh come on, how can no one not love them or any part or moment they are together. Its like ice cream so delicious, sweet and once it finishes you want more!

3) The Answers we've been clawing at since the beginning:

I love how Roth answers all the questions that consume our thoughts in Divergent and Insurgent. But i think what i love most is the big question that Roth left us asking her at the end.

4) The Ending:

Okay this ones pretty tricky let me break it down. An ending like that doesn't deserve to be loved (lets be honest), but after i let the ending sink in i came to realize whether i like the ending or not i can't do anything about it! It's Roth story being told and we are some lucky yet ungrateful fans, that she was nice enough to share the story. Although i didn't like how it ended, its not suppose to be to my liking only Roth's. Remember this is HER book she has the right to do whatever she sees fit. Yes unicorns can be involved and maybe Tobias could be riding one towards Tris ready to sweep her off her feet. Okay maybe i went overboard but you get the point person looking at the screen. 

Now here's the weird part: I loved the ending. Although i was an emotional wreck by the time i finished Allegiant, i continued my fit (complete with the kicking, the screaming, the uggghing, the cursing, the crying, the how could you speech directed towards Roth) throughout the whole day and then topping off my day was a complete blank, daze. Maybe i overreacted, but then again ask anyone who finished Allegiant and see what they have to say. So anyways i thought about it the next day, once i calmed down, and i had to say it was one bad ass way for Roth to say "adios b*****." It was one heck of an ending and i think that's why i loved it so much. It didn't just close, no, it slowly closed with each page. Like with each page we got the closure we've been yearning for since the beginning. Its kinda hard to explain, you need to read it to understand why its so hard to put into words (cliche much but it was needed), but it was an ending fit for the Divergent Series.

5) The Choices Characters made:

I loved how the choices that Characters made defined themselves. The choice they chose was so powerful it left a impression on me to the point that i'm constantly thinking about their choice. And what if i was in their shoes would i have done the same, or the better question, could i have chosen what they chose?

6) Because its part of the trilogy how can i not love it?:

Okay Gents and Gals lets be really, i mean really, honest here the fact that its part of the series (the ending to be exact) is why i love it so god damn much. I mean once your hooked to something, anything connected is to it adds to the addiction as well. So in short i'm saying i loved the book because its Roth's book. Maybe it was the ending that made me love it more, maybe, but i don't think so i think its because its part of the trilogy and that's why. 

Would i Recommend this? Ah Hell Yeah if you loved Divergent & Insurgent reading this is an absolute MUST. And if you haven't read them, shame on you and go read them.

I would give Allegiant: 4.5 Stars

On The Island

On The Island By:-Tracey Garvis-Grave

Imagine this: you signed up for a tutoring job for a 16 year old kid that has been in and out of hospital because of cancer and has missed a lot of school and needing some catching up to do. And this tutoring is to be done in Maldives. Awesome getaway + getting paid to go there: Uh Hell Yeah. Well that's exactly what 30 year old teacher Anna Emerson signed up for without any hesitation. It beats the library any day. 

T.J Callahan wants to stay behind in Chicago and hang out with his friends. Because he's been too busy fighting for his life he missed out on a lot. His parents want him to spend his first reemission summer with them in Maldives but studying and catching up with schoolwork. Not fun right?

But get this: the plane that Anna and T.J board onto their way to Maldives crashes because the pilot suffers a heart attack and dies. Leaving TJ and Anna in the middle of the ocean and with help nowhere to be seen. 

The story is crafted quite brilliantly, intact i love how the story of TJ and Anna on the island takes time. I don't want to ruin how long they are on there but its quite a while. Over the course of this time TJ and Anna begin to grow and change. And Anna no longer sees TJ as a boy but as a man.

I think the characters are really likable. I loved loved TJ. He's sweet, cute, and mature for a 16 year old. And then there's Anna: reasonable, smart, patient. I loved seeing the characters grow, change and thrive. I loved the survival lessons they learned along the way. I loved how it was from both TJ's and Anna's Point of View. I loved seeing them 

Would i recommend this? Yes its a lovely read.

Free Four-Tobias Tells The Story

Free Four (Tobias Tells The Story)-Veronica Roth

The title tells it all ladies and gentlemen! This is told from Tobias's point of view however from one specific scene which is the knife throwing scene. The first thing i did was squeal, and i never squeal unless it has something to do with Tobias, and then i went on a manhunt for the book. Turns out its for free and you can download it from Roth's Divergent blog.

But i really, i mean really not just because i love the guy to bits, but really good. Although we get this short lived view of Tobias its well worth it. We get to see his thinking, his planning, and genuine thoughts and feelings. I LOVED it! LOVED LOVED LOVED it! 

This book is to be read right after Divergent.

Would i recommend this book? Uh HELL YEAH

I would give Free Four 5 Stars.

Heart On A Chain

Heart On A Chain- Cindy Bennett

Poor 17-year-old Kate is the object of abuse in her house by her drug addicted mother. Whose father either doesn't know about the abuse or choose to ignore and not act on it. To top it all off she is also the object of bullying in her school. All the while she refuses to stand up for herself therefore leading her to be an easy target. But all that changes when *falls from Heaven* Henry arrives.

6 years ago Henry and Kate were best friends. 6 years ago they also starting becoming something more than best friends. Henry returns as a bigger, popular, kind man, and not to mention drop dead handsome who has also retaken an interest in Kate. But she doesn't understand why? She's not pretty or popular? Is this some sort of trick? Or is Henry really kind?

Kate decides to fully accept Henry's kindness. And he takes her into a world so bright and beautiful with a caring family and friends. But then a tragedy strikes and this will put their love to the ultimate test.

The book was moving altogether! At times i was crying, laughing, smiling, angry, etc. You name it you got it with this book. I love Kate, i was always rooting for her, and it was a joy to see her transformation from caterpillar to butterfly. I loved the transformations in this book. From the bullies to her father how they came to understand Kate. I loved Henry and the love and concern he held for Kate.

I loved how the book kept you on your toes. I swear i wasn't expecting some of those things and that ladies and gentlemen is what makes a book an amazing read.

Would I Recommend it? Yes! A MUST READ!!!

Hex Hall (#1)- Rachel Hawkins

Sophia Mercer is a witch technically she only found that out 3 years ago. Which has gotten her into a bit of trouble. Okay no lots of trouble that she has to be constantly moving around. Her mother, a human, is extremely supportive yet when at loss consults Sophie's father a warlock. However when a prom spell goes wrong and fingers are pointed at her she is exiled, by her father, to Hex Hall. An isolated school for juvenile witches, warlocks, shape shifters and faeries, or Prodigium for short.

After her first day at Hex Hall she has enemies, a crush, a ghost that's stalking her and a best friend, which she has never had one before, who is a Vampire and the only one in school! What makes all this day more painful for Sophie is that there was a girl who died in Hex Hall and all fingers are pointing at her new best friend. Hex Hall is 187 Pages a quick read! Personally i had high, high expectations for this series. I wasn't too disappointed in fact i was caught off guard in it! Which is a must for any avid reader. These mysterious attacks, the ghost, the crush, and Sophie had me dying to know what comes next! It was a really good page turner. 

The characters are to die for! Sophie, oh god Sophie, is HILARIOUS! I love her sarcasm and witty comebacks! Jenna (the Vamp) is one awesome friend. Her and Sophie make an awesome team! I don't want to ruin anything so i'll stop here. 

Would i recommend it? Yeah its a really good book.

I give Hex Hall (#1) 4 Stars

P.S Its kinda a funny that Sophie is a witch and doesn't have a black cat! Read the book to understand why!

Easy- By: Tammara Webber

  Jacqueline is leaving a rush party, alone, only to be attacked by her former boyfriends' enemy. In distress and in panic she tries to fight back but is no match. However have no fear Lucas is here! This strange, hunky, yet strong man (Lucas) comes to her aid and stops her attacker. Even driving her home to ensure her safety! Talk about a real gentlemen.

I know its not much of a premise but i didn't want to ruin anything.

Easy is about breakup, trust, the power of friendship, rape, love, starting new relationships and tragedy . It deals with all these aspects so well. And the issue of rape, its quite a touchy topic, is dealt with delicately and beautifully its hard not to love the book! It is a page turner i warn you!

What caught my interest was not only the beautifully sexy cover but the premise as well! I tell you this: Its hard to not love the characters! For me this book was amazing! I loved every minute of it and found myself craving for what comes next. And wanting to see her bloom along the way.

Would i recommend this book? YES, YES and definitely yes! It is a book worth while i promise.

Overall i give Easy 4.5 stars.

The Breakaway

The Breakaway talks about Naomi Jensen and her kidnapping. It starts off with Naomi waking up in a motel unsure of what happened to her and upon seeing strange men realizes she was kidnapped. This book talks about her journey of being kidnapped, to escaping, to her past life, to her new life and her emotions. 

Naomi isn't too eager to escape as what is left behind her is an abusive boyfriend and parents that don't care about her. It took her parents 2DAYS to realize their daughter was missing (talk about loving!) So when she gets kidnapped and starts having a family relationship with her kidnappers is isn't sure she wants to go home anymore. 

Naomi even devises a plan to make one of her captors fall in love with her so she can try to escape. However the plan works too well and as she ends up falling in love with one of her captors and which further makes her not want to go home at all.

The books shows the change in Naomi (it takes a long time to see this change) but it also shows the parents side as well. Maybe her parents not caring was intact a misunderstanding?

So guys The Breakaway is 441 pages long. And well guys i sort of like/disliked it. I don't want to ruin anything, but Naomi isn't my favorite heroine of all time, she was decent but that was it. I felt the book repeated itself too much at times. And it was slow paced (like extremely slow paced.)

It just wasn't my cup of tea. I read it liking the relationships and wanting to know whats going to happen to Naomi. The events aren't predictable i tell you i kept reading just to know what happens to her and her relationship with the captor.

Would i recommend people to read it? Yeah i think its a good read but not the best.

So all in all I give The Breakaway 3 stars.

P.S There is a sequel to this book but i don't think i'll be picking it up. Its called Pieces for anyone that does want to continue it further. But i felt there was no need for it, i wasn't curious to know what happens next.
