Consequences
So, on Tuesday I wrote a discipline referral for one of my students. Thus was the second referral I've written for this young man since the start of school. Today once his class period ended he came up to me and announced he had community service. I just looked at him and said, "okay." After my response, he just stood there. I guess he saw the confusion on my face, so he went on to explain that the assistant principal assigned him two days of community service to be served with ME! So now I'm wondering who is this really punishing, me or him?
Anyway, I looked around like what am I going to have this kid do, as most that have been in my classroom know everything is always in its place. Then, I spy the stack of Chromebooks sitting on the cart, and my problem is solved. Funny thing though, he put them all in the cart backwards, so he ended up doing the task twice! He'll be back tomorrow for another five minutes, and I can't wait, because it's Fri-yay and my smart board needs cleaning. 😋
